Hi friends! We had so much fun trying these restaurants to share with you. The seafood was definitely my favorite and the old timey ice cream parlor is definitely second. Let me know which one if these restaurants you’d like to visit and leave your Savannah questions in the comments.
Didn't get past breakfast. If you're spending $13 on toast you live on a different world than me. I'll need bacon and eggs for around $10 or it's no deal.
My favorite has to be the seafood at the Bubba Gumbo's!!! But what was you guys' favorite thing to see in Savannah? I am really interested in Savannah. I even have a song called "Savannah-Hannah" and just released a cute stop-motion music video for it! So if anyone's Savannah-interested, please check it out! 🎶
My Bestie and I visited Savannah a couple of years ago as a gift from her husband. We loved it! One of my favorite restaurants was Mrs. Wilkes. Amazing food!
Mrs. Wilkes has been on my list for a while. From other RU-vid’rs it seems there is usually a long wait. Is the food worth the wait? What did you order?
As a Savannah native, and lifelong resident, good list especially Bubba Gumbos and Leopold's which are BOTH awesome, but you missed a few IMHO... First off, Mrs. Wilkes is a MUST for good southern food. Vic's on the River is an amazing laid back spot overlooking the river and really good food. For really good BBQ you've got a LOT of spots (follow the locals) but most are shacks with no indoor seating (as good BBQ spots should be). For good BBQ WITH indoor seating, check out Wiley's on Wilmington Island. Crown and Anchor in Pooler, just a short drive away has some of the BEST fish and chips you'll ever eat in the US as well as a good selection of other English means and a BIG selection of savory pies. For a quick slice of pizza stop by Vinnie Van Go-Go's in city market, I don't know HOW they pull off amazing NYC pizza with local water, but they do. Both The olde Pink House and Elizabeth's aren't as trendy, but they've been Savannah staples for a reason, BOTH are well worth the money... You may have noticed there's ONE place I didn't mention that comes to mind when folks who ain't from here think "Restaurants in Savannah"... There's a reason for that... NONE of us locals eat there. Go to Mrs. Wilkes instead... Heck, you can get better fried chicken at some of the Parker's Kitchen gas stations around Savannah than THAT place I didn't name. (and don't shrug at the Parker's Kitchen food, it's actually REALLY good for a quick and affordable meat and three)
Hey thanks for the recommendations. Savannah is an awesome place to visit with some of the best food choices in the country. We’ll definitely put some of these suggestions on the list for our next visit. Parker’s Kitchen sounds like one of those hidden gems!
@@TravelCheckIns Depending on the location some can be a little hit or miss, and it's certainly not the pinnacle of southern cooking.... BUT it's MUCH better than "food bought at a gas station" has a right to be. For best results go to what we call "the fancy Parkers" on Drayton St.
Fantastic Commentary! This is my first time viewing the channel! The food looked delicious and the ambience was on full display from the video! Thank for sharing! 😎😎👏👏❤️❤️👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the video and that the food and ambience came through well. It’s great to have you on the channel-hope you stick around for more adventures and delicious eats! - Saidah @TravelCheckIns
I go to Savannah once a month.. yall have to try North Beach bar and grill in Tybee Island and also Collins Quarter for brunch in Forsyth park... and for a quick bite try Shabaaz and for dessert Lulu chocolate bar
@nettnettwarren1432 yes! Lulu's chocolate bar is a great spot to hit after a nice dinner.. I'll be there next month as well... best place in GA (in the southeast in my opinion)
I visit Savannah often. Lived there in the 80s. Beautiful city. Phenomenal restaurants. Seafood heaven. I have to get a Shabazz fish sandwich whenever I go.
I’m definitely going to stop by Shabazz when I’m in Savannah again. I love their concept. Did you try their beverages by chance? Also, for a first timer, do you recommend the fish sandwich or something else?
I appreciated all your restaurant suggestions. We stayed along the river front and enjoyed the Shrimp Factory and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. Next time I want to adventure out to try Bubba’s.
