No matter what anyone says...... only old players know the true fun era of Walking War Robots 😭 Edit: Wow! An entire year passed by. I've never gotten this many comments to my comment before! The best part is that I get reminded from time to time, by all these OG players, how great the game and community were 😄

I remember being so excited every time I upgraded the 4 gekkos on my patton, waiting to see what color they'd turn into next... The good old days...

I will always remember the old WR of 2014-2017, when the game was still fun even if by 2017 the dash bots were introduced already. The game was far more simple and fun, no random absorber shields popping up, no pilots, and no drones for instant heals, and no motherships. However there are some things I like, I still like the idea of modules and titans. I will always remember the old Griffin, Lancelot, Carnage, Raijin, Fuijin, Fury, Stalker, and all the good stuff when they were still strong but not too overpowered.

Remember when Lancelot was top 1 pick for almost 2 years? until spectre came in 2018 it was the strongest robot in the game. And ao jun from early 2019 to mid-2020 was dominating. The only reason why Ares in 2019 was believed to be better than ao jun is because he was the only robot who could counter him while in mid-air with the help of quantum Radar.

You can see that exactly in 2017 was where this game started its downfall when it comes to being fun

It took only 2 years for Walking War Robots, from being game developers' lovely ingenious pet project to become War Robots, gaming industry's cash means that appease their insatiable gluttony of profits. Oh, on the topic of top WR robots: honorary mentions to Boa & Golem. The last Boa standing is always the winner, figuratively.

2016 and 2018 were the fun times until purple shield and flying flamethrowers came

I miss old war robots so much, i was like 6 when i played my very first game ever like holy and i miss the ice map so much aswell

im also an old school, i was there when fujin and raijin were the meta. . . remember those times? yea they were really good, everything was considerably balanced and simple for 6 year olds to understand but, i dont know what happened, i stopped playing for a few years. . . . . . when i came back, i had to use all my braincells to understand what were all the new buttons and menus the game got bored, more complicated to understand, and most of all. . . *pay to win* the fact that everything that is atleast a bit decent needs to get builded with parts, its just so anoying the game got unbalanced, and if you got a new weapons and / or robot, the victory is assured. . . . . . i dont know what happened, if a bad company buyed the game or something, because EVEN THE GRAPHICS GOT WORSE the same exact same thing happened to Pixel Gun 3D. . . is it just the destiny for these popular mobile games to either, get forgotten or get over squeezed with unnecesary content. . ?

I miss the days when this game wasnt so pay to win. My personal all time favorite bots are fujin, spectre, ao jun, ares, and leech.

I remember the era when Griffin and Galahad were the most OP bots in the game 😢

I remember the good old days when you would see a ancilelot and start running in the opposite directoon. You would have raijins and fujins stacked on top of each other for the ultimate fusion comho. And the 4 aphidd pattons would be the bane of every match. Ah the good old days :)

Thank you for this phenomenal video hitting us with a blast to the past. God, I remembered when Fujin and Raijin came out, they were literally the top dogs of the era, and then when Ao Jun released, it was practically unstoppable. I wish WR would only balance things even more.

2018 and 2019 were definitely the most fun times until the drones were added that's when it got boring cuz fights last to long.

I remember playing the game back in 2014 to the start of 2017 when the game was so simple but yet still so much fun to play. I loved the snow map I believe it was called yamantau, the maps also back then where just so good. 2 years ago I decided that I would come check back to the game and everything was so much different and I was so confused about what happened to the game. I really miss the old Walking War Robots and the simpler times.

I still run a 2014 natasha With all shotguns on shield break. Great in short spurts against armoured enemies

Man I remember when Lacelot can carry the whole team, I also remember when I sold my Lancelot to buy the smallest dragon bot, didn’t regret that because that thing can face new bots quite good.

I am a 2015 wr player here, I remember how simple and non p2w this was, this was very nostalgic. Thank you for bringing me to memory lane of my childhood game. I also cannot forget golem and boa... 😥

Ah the classic days of wr, when it wasn’t so harshly p2w simplistic in nature, fairly balanced and great fun, long gone are those days after the release of ares, hades and nemesis the power gap between the new and old became great than out came more features to throw money at, it’s a shame we just can’t go back

Leo and carnage is the true legend, until 2017, it is just my best favorite robot. But after too much new robot release in 2017 and wr fix stealth in carnage, them is not still good than before. And at now, carnage and leo is really too weak in battlefield but them is still the true legend of player who is play this game from 2014 to now like me 🙂

Leo has tons of hp so no doubt it was a amazing robot in 2014

I love those old days man. My dad brought me to this game back when it was released. I didn't really play it back then, but returned again on late 2016. There were minor changes, but it definitely was acceptable. Was quite the fun. I didn't have much experience, was quite the 12 year old back then. Made the random equipments; didn't know the range of the weapons. Had this one equipment: Leo- Molot 2x, Magnum and Kang Dae. But still I USED TO survive. Even with trash loadouts, trash skills, I did have fun. That fun was enough to call it a game. Now things are cancerous. My skills have improved, my hangar has evolved a lot; Fujin, Leo, Fury, Griffin and Lancelot are all retired back in my Inventory while the battlefield is dominated by Harpies, Skyros, Seraphs and the HMG users. It just isn't fun anymore. Even with skills, even with good equipment, never will I get those days back, get the fun of the wonderful game back.

I played this game from day 1. But ever since the titans came out my experience really hasn't been the same since they have to much health and they can kill most robots within 20 seconds

I started playing this game since 2014, and I still can't get enough of it! Starting with my Destrier and Schutze, and ending up with a Seraph in the end! Highly underated! I still miss the old days...🌅 Edit: I made my Destrier MK3!😂😂

The old graphics make me tear with nostalgia... I started playing within a month of its release, and boy was it different, I only started playing again recently. Man it is a way different game, cool!

I played this game at 15-17, it was really good times. Previously, the game did not depend on donation, because of this, now, it has become much worse. It's very good that I caught the best time of this game, it's sad to see what has become of it now (((😓

This reminds me of when the game was still balanced, but unfortunately all good things must come to pass, and the time where the game was fun for everyone came to an end, and only the newest robots were battlefield effective

AMAZING VIDEO! I actually had this idea for a while but I was to lazy to ever make into an actual video 😂 another idea I’ve had for some time now is a WR meta timeline where it’s basically just a video of listing what was the top robot for each year and how long that robots meta lasted for as well as listing some other things such as a small list that appears somewhere on the screen of which robots meta lasted the longest that develops throughout the video to help it all seem less boring 😂😂. U made this video so much better than I ever could have and if u want I thought u could try out this other idea too and see how it works out. Keep up the amazing content and much love❤️!

Great look at the past years...but you definitely missed an iconic legend in the game. The DB & RDB & Plasma Griffin was in every hangar in every Pilot who played the game. Seriously...the first "1-punch knockout" in the game should have been on the 2015 list...near the top...certainly not overlooked.

I remember when I got Raijin and Fujin. They felt powerful yet balanced. Back then even with the best robots and weapons, it would take would almost the whole match to win. But now, matches take only a few short minutes because of how unbalanced and op the new bots are. It’s doesn’t even feel worth it to buy some of the best old robots anymore because of how the new bots just tower over them.

pure nostalgia, this game was fun back in the day as a snot nosed kid on an ipad, learning about cover usage and cooldown management

Man i used to remember i owned 2 schutze (which i use them as a sniper) It's fun dying without p2w players there Nowadays they're gone, i was hopeless to become a sniper in war robots

i miss the time where strider was considered a skill bot, when ares train were popular back then, strider was my go to robot to destroy those pesky ares, dash right into their shield and ruin their day !! God i missed those days

I was playing in 2016, good old times, the game was so fun, one of the funniest free to play games I’ve ever played, I mean it. I miss it.

I believe the balance was broken the moment they stopped releasing new bots by set of three. A Heavy, medium and light version which forced them to make them balanced from the start. I believe haechi, bulgasari and Kumiho were the last set released.

ive been playing since 2014, i finally got my haechi to the new 2023 levels. it performs suprisingly well compared to robots released 4 years afterwards, very happy with it

Ive played since late 2015 its crazy to see how the game has evolved for better or for worse

It is incredible that today we have robots with infinite physical shields, infinite healing, reflective shields that do not allow you to deal damage after one minute and abilities that last 15 seconds that recharge in 8. ​

Started to play WWR since it was released in 2014 and quitted in 2019 when all powerful weapons had to be purchased. You cant compete with anyone just merely playing hard but have to pay to get it, especially the Ares and purple shield.

Just got back in the flow how things change felt like it was only yesterday

I still remember my first match in WR. It was a complete massacre on my side, since the enemy that we faced at the time was a carnage running the classic double thunder.
