@@HarbourMastersTV Toxic Parents who thought their darling kids were going to the Olympics. Here’s how Sailing clubs run in New Zealand. Most of them are run/controlled by families who think their kids are going to the big time. Other families are just fodder, paying subs to cover the cost of coaching for the selected few kids. All other kids get pushed to the side and forgotten about while the chosen ones get all the attention. And it doesn’t stop there……. High Performance Sport NZ is just as sick, it’s a small closed shop. Picking and choosing who’s in and who’s out. Sailing in New Zealand is all about the Olympic classes as there’s limited money and resources. No other classes get a look in, Ever! We were screwed over by little entitled bitches and mothers, ruined my sons sailing experience. Luckily he had other interests and is academically motivated so will have a great career. But I feel sorry for other families who have been screwed over as they didn’t fit the mould. Goes right up the ladder to Olympic selection, NZ is a very sick corrupt place to do sport, especially if you want to go to the top level.
The 3rd sail - the screecher, makes this a 20 knot boat downwind. But you have to sail it correctly to get the best out of it. The boat isn't automatic - you have to work hard to make it really go.
