Thank you so much everyone for all the appreciation I have received on this travel video. I just want to reiterate that these towns are my PERSONAL CHOICES. And like what I have said in my title, these are my top favourite SMALL TOWNS. If you’re an Irish, you will for sure know these towns already but for a normal tourist, they might not know and it is my intention to share about other beautiful underrated towns. Of course, there are other amazing small towns like Adare, Killaloe. There are also comments telling me about the more popular and beautiful places such as Cliffs of Moher, Giants Causeway. Again, I was talking about TOWNS. I have a separate video where I put MY PERSONAL TOP 10 NATURAL PLACES IN IRELAND where I included Giants Causeway, Cliffs of Moher, Errigal Mountains, Dingle Peninsula, Conor Pass, etc. Please watch my other travel video. AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THAT YOU ARE GIVING TO MY VIDEO AND CHANNEL. I hope that I can create more contents about Ireland. Please let me know what else you want me to show in my RU-vid channel about Ireland. 😘😘😘
Ooohh having stayed in Ireland for number of years right now I miss my Ireland and my Irish people. Will be going back. (If God willing)Matty Dublin 8❤❤❤❤❤
I visited all the towns in your video when I spent a month in Ireland in 2019. But when I think about Ireland, my mind is often drawn back to a tiny village I stumbled upon southeast of Kilkenny, called Inistioge. Not much there, but it sits on a beautiful river with a medieval bridge, overlooked by two large churches. Really nice people. When I get back I'd like to stay there for a day or two and do some fishing. Cong is also extremely quaint and scenic, if a little more touristy (from The Quiet Man locations). Westport I think was the most beautiful town I visited, overall. Lots to see and do - I climbed Croagh Patrick nearby, and people bought me so many drinks in pubs that I ended up sleeping in my car. The true West of Ireland. If not for COVID I think I would have moved there already.
Thank you so much for watching and for your advice! We loved Inistioge too and we have to finish a vlog there this year (we wanted to do a spring-autumn vlog and still need some autumn clips). Westport is in our list for 2022 and we will check the other town you mention. Have a nice weekend! 🙂🇮🇪💚
A word to the wise, all those drinks you were brought, well you were meant to buy everybody in that group a drink when it was your turn. It's complicated. If you’re with a group of 6 (or 10), everybody in that group buys everybody in that group a round of drinks. If you have to leave early, you buy your round early on so nobody feels cheated. My cousin from Canada made the same mistake and everybody was asking me “when is she gonna buy her round ?” Fodder for next time
I have finally made the move to Ireland from UK. We started coming over in 2002 with our grandson who was almost 2 at the time and had severe disabilities. He was made so welcome that we brought him over twice more before his death in 2010 and he is the reason we moved over in May 2020. On the first trip we toured and stayed in Westport, Kerry, Dungarvan and Wicklow and Joe had the most amazing time, he didn't have a seizure for 2 weeks and was animated enjoying everything. I only wish he were here now to enjoy ig.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m a pediatric nurse so sick children have a very special place in my heart. I am glad that you were able to spend many of your grandson’s days in this marvellous country. I hope that you will love your stay here.
@@ReigneOrShine thank you so much. We are here for good and I know Joe approves and is with us. I also trained as a nurse but the majority of my working life I spent in learning disability, some children but mostly adults. Joe definitely got the value of my experience! I absolutely loved working in the field, service users fantastic but managers and owners not! We also loved our times at the children's hospice where we met some great people and Joe fell in love with a little girl who is still with us, thank God, 19 next month and I am still part of her life.x
@@SloMo2723 thank you so much. He was a wonderful boy and it truly was a privilege to care for him. He is always with me and I have so many memories of all I did with him. I was just remembering our first trip to Ireland and we were in the museum in Tralee after taking him to the pictures for the first time. We came across an exhibit that had mannequins dressed as cavemen and Joe wouldn't let me move on as he was waiting for them to move! He was almost 2 and at that point he was acting just the same as any child his age, his disability didn!'t matter.
It’s still my favourite land. There are so many beautiful towns you „must have“ to see. For an example Ennistymon. I love this small town from the first time. Lahinch, Caherdaniel, Blarney with it‘s Castle, Kylemore with the Abbey and so much more. Don’t forget north ireland and the Wicklow Mountains.
I agree! It was very difficult for us to choose our personal picks. I would also include Adare and Kenmare in my picks. We will make another video of other beautiful small towns in Ireland.
Ireland☘ is a litte treasure💚 great tasty food spectacular scenery lots to do most of all its people, will really Welcome you😊 once here you won't want to leave 🧳

Living in Derry it's an obvious place to promote. Armagh and Navan Museum are just brilliant. The Causeway Coast and the Glen's of Antrim need to be seen at least once your life. The train from Belfast to Derry is one of THE most beautiful routes in the world. Inishowen needs a day just for a quick look by car. Port Hawe just north of Buncrana is my favourite unspoilt beach for playing and swimming on summer afternoons. Donegal in general is Irelands best kept secret. Probably because the roads are only recently upgraded. Donegal Town has plenty to see. Glenties, Errigal, Kincasslagh, Killybegs, Falcarragh is a great area to explore. There's a great sheltered place for swimming and cliff diving near Donegal Airport. A trip to Sligo should really include The Rosses and the ancient burial site at Carrowreagh as it predates Newgrange. Yes. I'm enthusiastic about this country I've adopted. Lol
Yes you are right Michelle its lovely up there , im from Westport i must go on the train from Belfast to Derry sometine next year , all the best on your travels
Hi Michelle! That is a very detailed comment. Thank you for all your suggestions. My husband and I did a 2-week Wild Atlantic Way trip and it was one of the most amazing trips we ever had. I have a separate video with a title Top 10 Natural Places in Ireland. You are right about Donegal. It is undoubtedly my favourite county. There’s just so many wonderful places to see. I liked Murder Hole Beach for example. We found many beautiful places to see the beauty of Errigal mountain. The Giant’s Causeway is very worthy to be visited. We have never tried the train ride from Belfast to Derry. We will include that in our things to do while we are still living in Ireland.
@@sarahann530 that is the idea. If you heard in my introduction, this is a personal choice of the towns we have visited. It will be a title that we want to create when we compile all the towns we have visited. Thank you for watching. I hope you also listened to what I’ve said. Thanks again!
Too many beautiful small towns and not enough time when you only have a couple of weeks. There aren't any words that can truly describe the beauty of Ireland.
That’s true! We are living in Ireland and we always find time to explore the least known places to tourists so that they can also appreciate the smaller towns. When we did the 2 weeks Wild Atlantic Way, we knew that it’s not going to be enough because there are so much to see! Ireland is like a paradise.
Hi thank you for watching our video. We picked those that are not so known from tourists. But I just uploaded a new videos about Kinsale and Ballycotton. They are another beautiful towns! I have also included Dingle in my Top 10 Natural places in Ireland travel video. It is very hard to choose. 😅
I like in this beautiful country landscapes, the green land, animals, rivers, beautiful towns, beautiful houses. I pray for more beauty and happiness to the people of this country
It is a paradise. I love living here. If I get the chance, I will move to the countryside and enjoy more of nature. Thanks you so much for your kind words. Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you enjoyed it. Donegal is a matter of fact my favourite county in Ireland. If I have a chance, I would love to live there and explore all the beautiful towns and villages! Locals are friendlier too!
Some of my favourite small towns in Ireland are: Dunmore East, Glandore, Kinsale, Ardmore, Westport, Carlingford, Ballycastle (in Co. Antrim) and Kilcullen. Several of these have been mentioned in the comments here many times, but not all!
Excellent documentary! Other areas well worth a visit are Cahir, co. Tipperary, Connemara (region), lahinch co. Clare and the burren (region, co. Clare)
Well that brings back childhood memories , I used to spend my childhood summers in Killarney climbing torc waterfall , and running around muchross park ❤️
Everybody will be on saying their town is the best but, me being from Dublin, would say that is a nice selection of towns and captures the all round feel of Ireland.
Hi! Thank you for watching our video. This video was specifically made to showcase the small towns and less known towns. Of course, every town has its own beauty. It was not intended something else. It was also difficult for me to choose because there are more amazing towns we have visited. We are also planning that we will make a part 2 of this video.
I lived in Ireland for 3 years in the 90s. Friendly pubs everywhere. Killarney as you say is a lovely town. I would also add Westport. However, I do not like Dublin. Too much like London. I am English, but was happy there, and well received. Miss Ireland.
We share the same thoughts about Dublin. We actually live in the capital but we seldom explore the city specially when I am alone. But during our day off, we always go to the countryside which gives us more feel of Irish culture. I am glad that an English said something beautiful about his experience. And I am sure you’re not the only one. Most Irish are very hospitable and tolerates foreigners well like myself and my husband. Come back again soon! Thank you for watching!
I haven't been to Ireland since 2008 so have things changed but I found lots of towns totally subservient to the needs of the car. A bit like America in that way drive everywhere.
@@annedunne4526 So much depends on a persons circumstances, with family friends and livelihood. what part of Dublin are you in ? I lived in drumcondra for a few years, and I did like Dublin
I am from Dublin North East and still live there. It's on the coast and not far from Clontarf, Howth and Malahide, all lovely places. I find that people who only know the city centre, never explore the outskirts or visit all the lovely parts of the county. But I love the city too. There's so much to discover of the history, the culture, the restaurants etc.
Donegal is also a very nice small town to visit. We stayed two nights there recently and enjoyed every minute. Lovely little town with genuinely kind people. Felt like we were in small town USA back in the fifties.
Hello!! Thank you so much for watching!! We haven’t been to the town of Donegal but we’ve been to many other towns in the county of Donegal. As a matter of fact, Donegal is my favourite county in Ireland. Amazing and beautiful places and also the locals are very friendly! I am glad that you loved your trip here. We have a seperate video for Donegal and I also included many natural places in Donegal in our Top 10 natural places in Ireland. ☺️
Thanks for watching! So many beautiful places in Ireland. We had a hard time choosing. We wanted to show in our video the totality of what Ireland can offer but in reality there are more stunning towns like Kinsale, Adare, Kenmare.
There are pros and cons living in Ireland but it happens in every country. It is a beautiful country. For my own profession, I have higher salary compared to other countries, which is a good thing. We don’t pay for water here. Weather is, in my own opinion, great! It doesn’t get too cold or too hot in Ireland. It is windy most of the time but that’s tolerable.
Ireland has always been a place that I have wanted to travel to. I just find it to be so pretty, in every video I see of it. One day, I swear to myself that we (hubby and I) will make our way there. However, having just moved to Calabria, Italy, one year ago, it will have to wait a bit. Lol. Thank you so much for showing this video. It really was beautiful. Ciao, from Scalea, Italy.
We’ve been there twice. It was actually supposed to be included but I lost all the videos we had in the past. 😅 When we will go back again in the future, I will take more beautiful videos. We have 2 vlogs of Adare. It is included in my Limerick vlog and the 2nd is included in my Killaloe vlog. Thank you so much for watching!
Hello! We just visited it last summer and we will for sure include Kinsale in our next Top 5 Towns part 2. I mentioned in my intro that these picks were our personal choices. Kinsale is very beautiful also Adare and Kenmare. Thank you so much for watching!
Please I love Ireland its beautiful say hollow to kaylee Rogers of Ireland who sings hallelujah in RU-vid and goes to school in killiard school in Donaghadee I'm her fan thanks God bless you !
Great podcast. Cashel Co Tipperary is also a lovely town. It has the Rock Of Cashel as its landmark a beautiful old castle. Also possible to have a guided tour of the castle.
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏽 I agree with you. I have a separate video of Rock of Cashel. It was also a lovely place there. We loved the guided tour. We learned a lot. 😊
No it's not. As an Irish woman living in Co. Mayo Ireland, I'm telling you it's a city. It has a cathedral in it and that gives it city status... You may hear people refer to Kilkenny as a town because it is small but, again its a city. Try calling it a town to a Kilkenny person and they'll tell you. What ever travel book, you tube video about Ireland, etc, that you read..... It's wrong. Please don't tell me what is what in my country.
@@mrgrape2166 I’ve asked my husband and he said it’s a city, but considering its population and size we considered that it would be useful to include it in this compilation. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for watching our video. I was going to add Adare in this top 5 but then I lost all my videos clips. 😭 I actually have 2 separate vlogs about Adare. One when we went to Limerick. And another one when we went to Killaloe. I love Adare!
All of these towns are wonderful! Another town you should visit is Portmagee in County Kerry. We stayed there for three weeks and will never forget it.❤
Thank you so much for watching our video! We´re glad to read that you found our content useful for your coming trip to Ireland. We wish you have a wonderful time in the Emerald Island. I’ve been to Kinsale and I really loved it!! It is undoubtedly one of my top favourite towns in Ireland. I will include Clifden in our list. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏🏽
Good on you. Some of these places are better known to us who live here, Derry myself. Putting this kind of information where foreign tourists can find the quieter gems is a great move.
Athlone. With the Castle, the Bridge, Shannon river, Sean's bar (the oldest bar in Ireland), natural sceneries, nice restaurants, etc., it could be on your list, I think. It's beautiful and historical, and is very close to the geographic centre of Ireland.
thanks for watching and for your advice! We went to Athlone one evening and we really like the little that we saw, so we hope we can return and do a nice vlog there in the future! :)
Aww! Thanks a million for your kind words. I am very flattered. My husband and I really love Ireland. We keep promoting it to our friends and family. So many hidden gems in this country too.
Being South African with poor exchange rate we chose Bruff, stunning village halfway between Cork and Limerick. Near historic Loch Gurr. Also has a Kennedy family museum. We came as strangers and left with new life long friends.
Thank you so much for watching our video! The rain can be part of the fun sometimes, and it keeps everything green, so we advise everyone to come to Ireland and enjoy this unique island. 😊🇮🇪💚
So excited! We'll be in Ireland in October for the first time. Staying in 3 of the 5 places (Killarney, Kilkenny and Dingle). Also going to Dublin, Galway, Adare and Connemara.
Thanks for watching! October is probably our favourite month in Ireland. You’ll have wonderful autumn colours. You chose some of our favourite places in Ireland! We have done vlogs from them too. Kilkenny is very nice, I noticed that when I travelled there that many people were from Spain and France etc which was nice and something I didn't see often in most places I've been
Really interesting video with some of the most beautiful towns that we have visited in Ireland so far. I cannot wait to travel again with you and keep exploring this amazing country! Great work again my love!
Hello! Thank you for watching our video. I mentioned in my introduction that these towns are our personal pick. We loved Kinvara because of its calmness and friendly locals. I also loved the animals. ☺️ I could have also picked Adare, no doubt, but I lost all my video clips. 😢
John Prine ,the great songwriter from outside Chicago ,choose Kinvara for his holiday home.Prine RIP, was good at choosing words for his songs and I'm sure he choose Kinvara for good reason. I'm from Cork so I'm not surprised Cobh is on the list or Killarney either.I like Galway and it's people so will check out Kinvara in the the not too distant future.
Beautiful video, Reigne. I would also add Castltownshend, near Skibberean Stay at the castle at the bottom of the village. The small village is beautiful and there are also many nearby small coves with beaches in which to swim. The town's restaurant, Maryanne's is fantastic. This is a quiet and stunning place to base a visit to West Cork.
I did a road tour starting from Dublin, to Belfast ,Ballycastle, letterkeney, Galway and back to Dublin. Of course spending few days at these places visiting the popular touristy site. Will go down as one breathtaking holiday of my life. What a beauty Ireland was. Can't wait to go there again. This time want to cover the south east and west.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your preferences! We included Kinsale in our TOP 5 Towns Part II video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8BaKQ8t6_Og.htmlsi=FSmsWu-MWRDyGinA
I just booked a flight back to Ireland. I lived in Athlone for 3 months in 2019 and just can't forget how great I felt during that time. I hope the time keeps running until I step into the airplane.
Thanks so much for watching. I agree, Achill is a lovely place. I have a separate video of Achill island. My husband and I are planning to visit Westport this summer. 😊
My goodness, it's so beautiful that I'm watching it for the 3rd time, i'm from Australia and that is mind blowing you pretty lady are making me dream ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks a million Fiona for watching our video and for appreciating our work so much! You´re super kind! 🙏🏽😊 Hope you can visit all these places in the future as well. Any town you enter with a smile on your face, a carefree holiday to spend, a few bob in your pocket, a bit of sunshine in your face is indeed a memorable experience
thank you for watching the video! We have already been there and probably we will include it in our TOP 5 Towns Part II in the future :) Our vlog in Cashel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8L32jjdHZJ8.html
thank you very much for watching and for your comment! We love Dingle, one of our favourite areas in Ireland so far! :) Glad to know that you had a wonderful time there too! Best regards.
Im actually thinking about moving to Ireland right now im looking at all the small towns with good decant jobs around would you be able to point me in the right direction im sick of the life in the usa its so well its getting worse over her
thanks for watching! I have a video about what I love about living in Ireland too that it may be useful to you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-urhRkIYuiIA.html We live in Dublin where there are so many work opportunities, but cost of life is getting higher and higher (specially rent prices), but I have friends in smaller cities like Limerick, Cavan or Drogheda, and they pay much less for the rent. Dublin offers a lot to do, but it can be stressful if you don't like big cities or if your workplace is far from your home. We constantly "escape" to the countryside to feel connected with nature again. You can check the website "jobs.ie" to see work offers. Wish you good luck! Maybe you can find on RU-vid other American people who moved to Ireland and check their stories. Best regards.
Bring a good wind and rainproof coat with a hood. We have lots of weather here. Summer is best for clear views with lots of colour across the country. Views are more limited and very atmospheric in the rain. Great for artistic photography both of old buildings and countryside scenes. Trains, buses and Guest Houses or hostels are the cheap and friendly get to know locals way to tour. Renting bikes is good for local exploration. I've lived here for over 30 years, it's a great place to explore.
Hi dear ,thank you sharing video with us.its most useful .i would like to come ireland and stay there.if anyone can explain how we can do it.wr are coming from italy .we have italian passport .we like to come south ireland ..please someone can give to us more info.thank you
Hi! Thank you for watching. Ireland is part of the European Union, so you don't need VISA to travel here if you have an Italian passport, but the best option is always to contact the embassy of your country to not have doubts. There are currently no restrictions related to Covid for travellers from other European countries. Enjoy your trip!
Lovely video of our beautiful country very well put together I would also suggest Achill Island in the west and the OX mountains in county Sligo the scenery is breathtaking
thank you very much for your comment! We visited Achill Island last summer and it's one of our favourite places in Ireland so far. We loved and want to return next summer! Lovely video. I notice that all the locations are in the south of the country. You should try Co Donegal next, hard to beat. Ballyshannon, although a bit run down (thanks Donegal Co Co), is the oldest town in Ireland with a history second to none and I will happily discuss that with anyone who thinks differently. I am a local historian there and will be happy to show you around.
thank you very much for watching and for your advice! We went to Donegal for 4 days and it's probably our favourite county in Ireland so far, but we passed most of the time in nature though and this is a video about towns. We will let you know if we ever visit Ballyshannon, it would be great to have a local historian to explain everything to us, thank you so much! Hi! Thank you so much for appreciating my video. I am honoured that an Irish say these words to me. I received a few negative feedbacks because they said I missed some places but these are my personal choices and I think they are perfect to promote Ireland to tourists like me.
