So let me explain the Dark Woods Circus series. First off, Miku is sent to an insane asylum in Steel Cage Princess, and then she is sent to the circus in Dark Woods Circus (However, in Wide Knowledge, it shows Miku and the others being experimented on, but that’s not canon to the series. The ending of the song was just a reference). In Blue Ice Castle, Miku is rescued by a man who rescued her from the circus and they both get married. However, Miku is haunted by her memories of the circus, so she commits suicide by freezing her limbs, getting them cut off, and throws herself down a staircase. But it turns out that her husband was accused of murdering her. In Red Swamp Bottom, Miku is sent to hell for committing suicide and she sings about the pain she’s enduring and regretting her suicide. Finally, in Guard and Scythe, she makes a deal with the Devil and becomes a grim reaper. But that is until she has to decapitate her husband, and she spends eternity decapitating people. I believe that’s how it goes. Correct me if I’m wrong.

In Gommene Gommene I always interpreted the food metaphors as the child’s well.. childish interpretation of what was happening to her.

the reason people believe gomen ne gomen ne is also because at the end there are a few references to her ribs being cracked open, her heart being eaten, etc. as she's abused by her father and his friends. cannibalism / consuming / eating are often used as a metaphor for sexual abuse and assault, at least in the media i've consumed.

It's the imagery in Kakome Kakome that scares me; I feel there's some intentional uncanny valley lol

When it comes to creepy vocaloid songs Alice of Human Sacrifice is the one that comes first in my mind. It's old, horrible tuning but that only makes it more scary. The wikia claims that the story might be based on a string of strange murders in japan and reading about them it has a lot of paralels but the creator never confirmed it. If you want to enjoy it as a song I suggest human covers or fan remasters.

You should listen to masa's newer songs in the onibi series and remixes of the older songs. He's improved a lot

Back in the day, a song (mainly the video) that made me unnerved was "Fushigi no Kuni no Alice" by Machigerita-P. The song itself isn't scary, but the visuals alone made me wary.

actually im pretty sure the spider and the kitsune like lion is about ryou shishikusa (gumi in this song and shikyou, the amanojaku) kidnapping a girl called akari oborodzuka (miku) to torture in front of a bunch of daimyos after they get tired of the usual plays at the shishikusa theatre and ryou uses her demon blade and stabs akari twice, spillin gher intestines and killing her, but before she dies, akari curses mai shishikusa (gumi in all songs of the series starting with the fox's wedding except for this song, onibi, and the demon child in the clear mirror, also appears alongside her mother ryou in shikyou, the amanojaku) and mai eventually becomes a cannibal after being kidnapped by akari's brother and forced to eat human flesh, and then the fox's wedding starts (sorry for the super long comment)

One song that 10 years later I STILL am terrified by is Rugrat Theory. The beginning of the song's instrumentals always makes me uneasy but what truly makes it borderline unwatchable for me is the artwork where Angelica is holding the doll and smiling. Angelica looks creepy but I can get past that. THE DOLL HOWEVER....yeah no. It's face is one of the most horrifying images I have ever seen in my life. That mixed with the Kaai Yukki's vocals is my limit. Lately I've been on an old Vocaloid horror song binge and ever since listening to that again I've been getting recommended that song and it's given me so much anxiety that I have literally erased it from my history and restrict the channels completely. All of that just so I can avoid seeing the thumbnail

Holy, my whole perspective has been changed for that song forever 😦 (i thought the song was cheery before i heard the lyrics) [edit] also the “instruments” made me think happy, and evade the true meaning of the lyrics. A small correction: In Gommene Gommene, the guy the little girl met while she ran away didn’t assault her at all. Basically, the little girl’s view on love has become distorted that she thinks if someone assaults her, it means they love her, so basically the guy she met, took pity and compassion for her, and the girl asked the guy to assault her, the guy obviously refusing, then she runs away back home because she thinks the guy doesn’t love him, the girl goes home, sees her dad and his friends, and they end up assaulting her until she’s dead

In the Spider & the Kitsune-like Lion, it’s implied that Gumi isn’t born. Her mother kidnapped her for a rival tribe and tortured her for people for the rival tribe. In Miku’s final moments, she curses her bloodline to all become cannibals. The Fox’s Wedding takes place decades later and it’s Miku’s spirit that convinces Gumi to be a cannibal.

Mai(gumi) 's mom is payed by a gang to k1ll a girl, she agreed and kidnapped akari (miku), so before dying, akari cursed mai's mom for her son to eat her and her husband. The foxs wedding: akari was rebirthed in her body, her curse is true btw, mai and akari then dated, the beautiful shadows of the demons frenzied dance: is like a continuing of the foxs wedding btw idk Shikyou the amanojaku. : shikyou (rin) is mad, The beheaded dance:so she planned to decap1tat3 mai. And so... Mai died Star lily dance performance:in her last dreams... She wanted to live with akari happily ever after... But not (onibi is useless lol bahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah)
