They (as in RU-vid not Bondi) need an option to watch these videos WITHOUT all the blurry parts. Some of us want to actually see what the doctors are talking about that they've done. I'm not a blood and gore fanatic. I'm a genuinely-interested-in-the-procedure-because-I-enjoy-learning-about-medical-things person. Especially vet things as my daughter starts vet school next year 🥰
Unfortunately it's RU-vid issue, not Bondi. So if you really want to have non blurry videos, take it up with RU-vid and ask them if it's possible to have the ability to have the option to watch such things without issues. This way, people can stay in the defaulted blur option without issues and can change it when they want to.
I totally agree!! I was thinking the same thing. I am becoming a Vet Tech and would like to see what is going on. The blurry parts annoy me but, I still love watching
@@ChaosMaker335 I was actually talking about it being a feature from youtube. I knew it wasn't from Bondi. That's actually exactly what I said. The option to watch the UNblurry version for those that want to.
@@solidsnakesimulation666 it’s interesting that you would say she didn’t care. She obviously cared about bob. That’s why she went ahead with the surgery. Is she supposed to stop her life after Bob passed? I’ve lost many dogs. And sometimes I have waited a year. But if she can provide a home for another dog in need, perhaps that’s what she needed to cope and move on.
@@solidsnakesimulation666 I agree! Every time I lose a pet I consistently, compare other animals that I see & convince myself that no other pet can replace the original one! When my GSD died I haven’t gotten a new dog since her death on 2002! Bob’s former owner is not a loyal pet parent! She’s a needy individual in which she can’t be alone for a very long time hince she barely lasted 3 weeks before she replaced Bob! RIP Sasha 2002…love you forever!❤️🔥😢
Lenny purring after taking out of the carrier is such a relief. Wouldn't even tell she underwent major ear surgery. Such a good kitty and exceptional care!
Poor Bob and Cookie, I remember watching the original shows about Bob and Cookie and it was heartbreaking. I remember all four actually. I'm glad Roxie and the Kitty did well. ❤️
I am a veterinary surgical nurse and I have had the opportunity to work on a open heart case and it’s AMAZING how far veterinary medicine has progressed in the last few years!
Dr Chris has some of the most interesting cases/surgeries and I hope he'll write a book on his career later in life. And Roxy's story is amazing with such a dedicated vet.
I love this show and all the providers that serve our beloved pets. I cannot help but reflect on how privileged we are - that there are serious conditions we are able to treat our pets for and yet there are millions of children in the world who have no access to the same treatments. I am thankful every day. ❤️
The little rabbit story was tough. We used to raise show rabbits, all different varieties. When we needed to 'fix' one of the little boys, we just gave a lidocaine shot (local), close to the two tiny areas we needed. Grandpa would hold them between his fingers, use a scalpel and one quick slice on each and he pulled them out. It did NOT hurt the rabbits, I held them and they were fine. The openings were small enough that they healed up on their own. One antibiotic shot and we were done. It sounds revolting, but the whole procedure took Grandpa less than 2 minutes. No need for a general anesthesia (at least that was our experience, we were not vets). Grandpa was not a vet, but he had been taught how to do that many, many years ago, by a vet (where we got our supplies).
@@judyduthu6563 We certainly did NOT 'show' every rabbit we raised! You could tell at a quite young age if a rabbit is 'show quality' or not. We had several as pets and we gave a ton of them away to others, as pets.
Scott Miller wears his emotions freely. When Cookie died you could see the colour of his face change. I've watched Bondi Vet for ever and he is by far my favourite. And the unfortunate reaction to the anaesthetic is the reason why I won't spay my dog. She had a reaction to a drug after getting gastro ..... my two vets agree too, that they won't spay her in case we lose her.
Thanks for this very candid film. In college long ago I assisted a vet and participated in the many surgeries. No guarantees ever on a surgery. Losing a “patient” was indeed always crushing and very sad-making.
My 15 year old cat Mysti had ear polyps, and they were removed a couple years ago. Same ear as Lenny. She never had cat flu. So far so good, they haven't returned, as they sometimes do. Mysti goes to the vet every 6 months to have her ears checked. She felt so much better and was much happier since they were removed. (Jan Griffiths).
My mom had a koi that got some fishing line wrapped around himself. She used clove oil to put him to sleep. Then did had him out for 60secs as she carefully cut the line free, then back into the clove oil water and out again. She did the back and forth for few minutes then put the koi into water with no clove oil. Fishy woke up and went back into the big pond with all his fishy friends.
Dr Arvard is obviously an ace surgeon, and seeing that Roxy was already cut open, it was a good call to complete the procedure. Well done for a great result for Roxy.
I am an ER vet tech, and I had no idea that bypass was an option for veterinary medicine. That is why I love programs like this; they expand my personal knowledge even further.
@@solidsnakesimulation666 operations change and evolve, so not every vet will know each one. Also, because they work in emergency, that's not an operation that they would generally do.
So sad and heartbreaking when your pet dies during surgery But Think of the Vet and His/Her team they must all feel terrible for the loss But without the vets and the teams that go with them we would be stuffed
RIP Cookie. 😞 The one bright spot in this story is that he left an adorable legacy: the son that looks just like him and the two female bunnies. May they live long and happy lives!
My best friend died Friday, 23-06-2023, on the operatingtable with a heart attact. 😢 He was being operated for cancer on his liver. It was his second operation in 2 months. We cremated him and is back home sinds yesterday. He was only 10years and 4month old. He was a large Chihuahua. I miss him soooo much. It is so still here at my home. He was my animal soulmate. I am getting in a big depression. I tried to help him and now I lost him prior. 💔😭
I know it’s hard to leave ur pet and trust the dr’s but in Bob’s case there’s really no choice. He’s going to pass either way if they don’t do something or it’s possible if they do the surgery. I’d say I’d rather love some than to have never loved at all. Well something like that….
My 13YO Daxie has mammary cancer- surgery is not an option for me. She's blind and deaf but other than that she's still active and happy, and eating. I won't risk surgery at her age where we might lose her, just to save her for another 6 months. When the time is right we will take her, and say our goodbyes. Even though it will be a devastating loss.
Five days ago, my dog started breathing heavily. Three days ago, an x-ray to look at his minor heart murmur revealed that his lungs were riddled with cancer. One of those aggressive cancers that blazes through within a couple of months. Two days ago, we said goodbye so he wouldn't know the pain that was coming. When cancer comes knocking and all other options would impact their quality of life, the most humane thing we can do for our best friends is to make them as comfortable as possible and put them to sleep before they start suffering too much. It hurt to put my boy to sleep because he was still so lively but he would've been in so much pain within a fortnight. We wanted him to go out on a high note, after having a cozy night in my bed and an awesome morning outside. Make the most of your Daxie's remaining life and be merciful in deciding when it's her time to go.
My 12-15 y/o recently adopted senior dog was under anesthesia recently. He has chronic kidney disease and liver issues. Yes, they can pull through 👌🏽🐶❤
I lost my best friend to caner it was so fast in i think of every day all my best friend see my dogs in my cat again one day i miss them its a hard in life to lose somthing you love but like everthing one day we all will meet the end aswell in pray that there is somthing after life i love you then in love you forever my friends
After hearing the second woman got a new puppy after only 3 weeks of losing the first it kinda shocked me and made me curious, how long would you guys wait to get a new pup?
Depending on how strong the grief is I wouldn't get a new one after only 3 weeks but I'd say after 3 to 4 months I'd get a new one and name it after my dead one
The way people grieve is very different. For some it's incredibly difficult to get a new pet so soon, but for others it's just as difficult to wait too long in an empty house. I understand where that woman is coming from- it doesn't mean she loved Bob any less, but after such a stressful and heartbreaking first experience I can't blame her for wanting to focus her mind on a new puppy so she's not dealing with so much grief.
We lost our beloved Golden Retriever /German Shepherd/Pitbull mix Scout after 14 years (she was born to us). She was such a big part of our family, and the silence around our house was deafening! I have had dogs all of my life and, to me, a house just isn't a home without a dog in it! Five months after she passed, and against my boyfriend's wishes, I adopted an 8- week-old Chihuahua puppy--- then adopted her half sister five months after that (she was born in March and I got her in June). Our house is a HOME again, And the girls have daddy wrapped around their little paws!😆😆😆😆 We still talk about and remember our BEAUTIFUL Scout, and we will NEVER forget her or stop loving her, But she wouldn't have wanted us not to give a loving home to another furbaby--- she was just too loving for that! 🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰
My sweet kitty, Maisy, passed away unexpectedly from kidney failure. It was the worse emotional pain I have ever felt and it’s been almost a year now. I still cry thinking about her as she was my first pet that I’ve had a strong emotional bond with. Losing her took a hard toll on my mental health as she was also an emotional support companion for me. I couldn’t cope well and about 3 weeks later my family pitched in to get me a kitten to help. He’s a sweet little boy called Casper and I love him 💙
For the people complaining about the blurring and suggesting ways for the channel to fix it for the people wanting to watch it without blurring, Bondi aren't going to upload a video 2 times just so people can watch a version of it that is unedited and un-blurred - which by the way; wouldn't be able to be monetized anyway due to it being in breach of RU-vid rules.
imo there should be a function to unblur if you are of age. There is already a tool to blur inside RU-vid, it would not be very complicated to process that blur as a layer that can be also removed.
They clearly do, otherwise the essential equipment wouldn't be working, and you can hear that it is. I guess for them the lights just aren't included in that.
They do. It prioritises the surgical and life-saving equipment (you can tell they're still functioning) over lights and monitors, much like in human hospitals. A torch can replace a light but you can't replace an oxygen machine.
We my wife and I had a feed at The Lime tree I had Barra and Dell had some Reef fish and prawns , Some of the biggest and sweetest prawns Id ever seen .We were taking Long service leave and decided to tour Queensland It was a great trip one that I would Do again in a heart beat
Cool. But this is very off topic and makes it seem like you do not care. I am not being rude I am just giving a heads up to all the Karen’s that *could* come and reply to this comment. ❤

Did you biopsy the fish tumor? How old was Cookie? Roxie's overactive parathyroid gland has developed a benign tumor? these are glands right at the tracea and below is the thyroid gland. We all have them. Calcium is low no doubt! No generator? Great staff to supply the needed light!
Seeing Chris's reaction to Cookie's passing was heartbreaking but also somehow reassuring? It's important vets feel in those kinds of situations, i think.
Our vets do the best job they can do ,my husband and son blame the last vet on my dogs passing ,that's is the complete opposite, the vets were wonderful to my emotional support dog, but our Great Creator gives us our pet's and at some point in there lives ,we must give them back ,it's the worst hurt my heart has ever felt besides the loss of my mother ,on my 19th bday. I just lost my emotional support dog this past May ...tryed to do CPR , But no luck at all ..
It may be that I misunderstood, but it sounded to me like the power went out prior to the beginning of the surgery. I am glad that everything went well, but it almost seems a little concerning to me as a pet owner. I'd rather wait and do it another day.
If Roxy was my pet, I would really be shocked, outraged and lose complete trust in my vet if he didn't back off of the surgery and did it in those conditions when it's already so risky. The power cut didn't happen while the patient was open, it happened before the surgery *started.* I need to know that my vet has my pet's best interests in mind and won't make life-changing choices without consulting me first. Imagine if he called her and said: "By the way, there is a major power outage right now, se we decided to cut her open under cellphone flashlights". I personally can't imagine someone responding well to that. Even if the surgery went perfectly, I would never go see that vet again.
You wouldn't think it worthwhile investing in fish surgery would you? Now that I have a pond full of them and have fallen in love with them and can testify that they all have different personalities, I think differently. Cute things, they are.
