almost all Thoroughbreds have Northern Dancer in their ancestral lines. all four of my Thoroughbreds and TB crosses have Northern Dancer in their 4th or 5th line. it's so common that it wouldn't change a horse's value in any regard (nor would it change it regardless at this point, considering the closest Northern Dancer is in any horse's pedigree anymore is 4th line) it's also never based on just one single ancestor in an entire pedigree. it's the overall quality of the pedigree, which receives a grade on how many black-type producers are in the forefront of the pedigree, if the dam is a blue hen (or if she or the sire is a proven producer at all), how successful the ancestor was on the track, etc. etc. also $2mil in progeny earnings is nowhere near being good, top sires have progeny earnings in the hundreds of millions plus, Frankel definitely isn't the most valuable - there have been many through recent history that would be much higher appraised, though he is quite up there with the top also your pronunciation of Fusaichi Pegasus has me rolling on the floor lmao it's pronounced Foo-sai-ah-chee Pegasus 😭

Can I rant for a sec? Moorlands totilas "toto" is nowhere near the best dressage horse, and it's not the horse's fault! He was trained with rolkur, an abusive training method involving pinning a horses head down with force or pain in the mouth instead of taking the time to teach him to properly collect. This does severe physical and mental damage and that's why he retired. Edward gal has hard hands, which you can see in any one of his performances. The shank is always pulled back and the poor horse just can't get away from the pain. You can also see his neck looks almost broken, this is because his neck is being overflexed and bent past his physical limits. Overflexion can lead to not only pain, but damage to the 3rd vertebra and pol, not to mention the strain on the rest of his body if he's not collected! Riding hollow backed is bad for your horse if you are doing anything physically challenging with your horse, so it's important to teach your horse collection, it preserves your horses back. That's why he retired. His body had been put through too much strain and it was becoming too much pain. Sorry I used a lot of horse terminology, but i hope to the non equestrians who made it to the end learned something, and if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer! Great video btw!

He just looks so more relaxed. Especially during his last dressage test. Without all of the tail flicking and overall discomfort of Tortilas.

The problem is yh yh these horses are expensive but a majority of them are only expensive because 1. They have racing in they're blood ( Racers are not equestrians they kill horses and abuse them) 2. In dressage to do the prancing trot they have their legs bleached , I know it can be natural but to make it higher and better they would bleach their legs , Racing is a disappointment to the equestrian industry go find a survey to stop it.
