It almost sounds like you did not know what you wanted when you bought the truck since you got the base model. 1. You can choose to get the hitch when you buy it. Most of them come with it. 2. They sell a king bed with the crew cab if you wanted more bed space. The adaptive cruise control has an update now! Take it to your dealership and it will fix the mpg and cruise control. The rear cargo room is actually bigger than any midsize truck. I test drove every midsize truck and sat in the back! Sounds like you just needed to buy a bigger truck!
Unfortunately the more we complain about this obscure opinion, the more the video wins. The comments and interactions only give the video traction with the algorithm on you tube. I wouldn’t be surprised if the video was designed to promote a negative response just for views. I have a 2010 frontier pro4x in the same alert red colour and beat the hell out of it. It’s on 33” BFG KM2’s with a 3inch lift. And it came with a trailer hitch… It’s a great machine. I call it my sports car truck. I’m probably going to get the new Pro4X trim in January. Literally was going to post my opinion of the video but you nailed it 🤟🏼Cheers
definitely not at all. I knew exactly what I wanted. These things that I do not like about the vehicle in no way was a dealbreaker for the reason why I actually bought the vehicle. A video about why I decided to buy this truck. it’s on the channel as well.
@@shaneanderson8358 I actually really like this truck. The reasons I mentioned in this video don’t really play a role for me day today. This truck is mainly used for off-road Ing and camping in the woods.
I love my 2023 frontier S model King cab and it has a 6-foot bed , I would buy 2 if I had the money, one for work and the other set up for camping. At one point I got 26.3 miles per gallon.
I have one of these now i just bought. Pro4X. Been a Dodge guy for 10 years and decided to add a Nissan to the collection. I agree on the cruise control, its insane. The #1 thing I hate?!?!? The rear seat belt chime. If someone touches the other seat while we are driving, the damn thing thinks someone is setting there and the fuckin chime wont shut the hell up. I love the truck. Hate the fucking chime. Like for real, imma throw shit in the back seat the weighs something and i aint gonna buckle it up!
As someone who currently drives a 23 lt Colorado you are definitely doing great when it comes to mpg. My 2.7 turbo ia doing 17-19 combined. Only time I hit 20-22 mpg is when I baby the pedal. Highway is great tho ill hit 27mpg highway.
I agree with problem 3 and problem five the V6 is a 310 horsepower motor that's like a small V8 the gas mileage is correct you knew the truck had a small bed when you bought it and you knew it had a small back seat
I got a 2023. I don't know how I feel about the transmission. It really bothers me when taking off from a stop and just generally shifting. It seems to linger too long and rubber bands REALLY bad at lower gears. The other day I had to get out of a tight spot in traffic and the truck just hesitated and stood there for a moment before up shifting then downshifting again for no reason. I have an SV 4x4. Really my only complaint about the truck.
Normal driving and normal shifting, I don’t really have a problem with. Seems to be fine at that. But yours is newer, though, maybe there is a difference. It’s really just a cruise control that isn’t great. But for my understanding, there is a update you can get done at the dealer that should take care of the issue.
@@4wdAdventurz I've noticed the trucks cruise control is lackluster as well. I upgraded from a 2006 Silverado to this truck. That trucks cruise worked better. Mine only has about 1,500 miles on it. So it's not even broken in.
@@cahabarivr I've talked to multiple people about the trans, even the dealership has made comments about the weird hesitation and shifting on a bunch of the trucks they have in inventory. It's just how the trans is.
@@cypressgold it could be because I drive the heck out of it. 8 9 or 10 speeds take some getting used to. Apparently I just don't notice it. I was lucky to get my truck as it was. It was the first 2022 the dealership got and they wasn't even going to sell it for a while. Mechanics, sales personal and others drove it. They made sure it was ready to go and I happen to have a friend who's a salesman and he talked them into selling it. Saved me around 5k with discounts like Nissan Customer Loyalty and all.
I have a 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x and I average 24.8 mpg. You must have a lead foot, bro. Also, comparing a mid size truck to a full size truck and complaining about space is like complaining that the night isn’t as bright as the day. I’m sitting here like “Well, no shit! Of course the full size has more room. It’s a FULL SIZE!”
Not comparing the two. Simply stating that just because it’s a midsize truck doesnt/shouldn’t mean that you can fit a car seat in the back seat. Not saying it has to have the same room as a full-size.. And your username is pretty awesome btw lol.
@@jamessteller1914have a 2022 sv I get between 23-25 average , most of my mileage is 30 highway miles to work. The highest I’ve gotten is 27 going 65 on a 80 mile trip. Have 3500 miles so far and mileage has stayed consistent.
@@jamessteller1914the sv has a air dam that the pro 4x doesn’t. Could be a reason why the difference as well as the tire difference between them. My sv came with michelin primacy Ltx all seasons.
Suggestion, test drive the vehicle before you buy !! Hilarious 😂 Could have bought the crew cab SV trim with a 6.5 ft bed and it would have come with a hitch ! If you don't have enough room in a midsize then buy a fullsize, it ain't rocket science !! 😂🤣
80% of the points of this video were mostly for click bait. However, the bed being short is a legitimate regret. If I could do it over again, I would’ve gotten a 6 foot bed all day long.
@4wdAdventurz Today I test drove a Frontier SV King Cab, 4x4, 6' foot bed, all tricked out. $41,000. It rode really solid. And quicker than my 2017 Tacoma. Think I'm buying it.
I drove one of these everyday for work and I couldn't agree more, the adaptive cruise control is hard with the shifts and braking absolute garbage and the gas mileage never gets better no matter how you drive
before buying a car, truck whatever please go at your local rental car and try for a couples days long run round trip and then decide no just only the 10 minutes from dealer.
You're comparing a full size Chevy to a midsize. Your complaints are mainly because it's a midsize truck, not because it's a frontier.... Cargo space, bed, and passenger seats. The bed can be upgraded to a 6ft, the trailer hitch can be added as well..
Nissan really needs a 4 cylinder turbo, no doubt. So many manufactures make them, and they are so reliable. I cant believe Nissan does not offer one. Still, the new Frontier is the best midsize truck on the market right now. I really wish I could combine the Ford Ranger engine and powertrain with the Nissan body and aesthetics. There are two manufactures in the US without a turbo 4 in their midsize trucks this year, and they are Toyota and Nissan. That is crazy. The Japanese manufacturers are behind the US in this generation, without a doubt.
gas mileage? That truck has a lift kit on it. It also has 310 horsepower.. I also weighs 4600 pounds. I doubt you baby it either. Also, I put a hitch and trailer connector on my Frontier for 200 bucks, Nissan charges you 550. I'm sorry you hate your truck but I like the looks of it.
LOL getting a hitch installed is pretty easy can take it to any uhaul if thats big of a pain.. also you bought a mid size truck comparing to a full size about bed size and back room seat. AND they do offer this truck with a 6 foot bed... The nissan has best in class power, The tacoma with less power gets worse milage.
This dudes complaint is because he compared a midsize low end unit to a full-size truck Mid size truck owners want to stay small for easy city driving or lifestyle off-roading or they typically are car upgraders and idk about you but lumber and dirt bike and quad fit in 5ft bed with tailgate same thing my Nissan Titan I have to angle bike left to right \ in the bed also or the rear tire has to sit on the tailgate. Let’s face it unless you have a diesel 10ft flatbed with rails your bed can always be better l.
Was it really comparing a full-size to a midsize. Just some aspect I was using the full sizes example. I actually like this trick.. alot. I made a video about why I ended up going with this truck. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--C93JCuYkYQ.html
Agree. I bought this truck mostly for off-road use and camping. But if I use this as an actual truck coming from a full-size truck, I don’t think I could handle it.
@4wdAdventurz I had one short bed truck. I didn't have room for much of anything. I never bought another short bed. I know that long beds can be hard to come by at times. Even buying new you can't get one . That says a lot about who's really using them .
Bro you are comparing full size to midsize. The frontier wins the midsize segment, you want the gas millage of a corolla in pickup truck. You are getting better gas millage than me, i get 18.5 and i am not complaining lol probably you should have went with the titan, but again you would have like 14mpg 😅😅
We have 21 Titan SV & the cruise control ...well we only use it when there is no traffic nearby.... Yes your gas MPG sucks ...here in Germany with No Ethanol 98 we get around 24.3 MPG on the road ... 2024 Frontier Pro4X = No Tow Mirror & yes believe it or not No Trailer Brake Control !!! C'Mon Nissan F&*"
I purchased a brand new 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x and it came with the tow package. You have to pay for add on's. On cruise control read the owners manual Dumb Ass
The guy makes no sense…..Your absolutely right on wether he even spoke with a salesmen regarding what he was looking for in the truck or even any truck! How do you drive it off the lot if it was not equipped with what you wanted in a truck? Silly really!
If you're not towing don't need a hitch.9 speeds tend to wander..adaptive cruise does the same annoying thing on any make.v6 310 hp will blow a little Ecoboost off the line.mpg won't be great.backseat room is irrelevant in a midsize..get a 6 ft bed if the short bed is too short..moron.
My man….it’s a smaller truck, if you want the bigger one get a titan. It’s also putting out the most HP in its competition which why you have the lower mpg.
No offense, but it sounds like you didn't research the vehicle enough (or atleast test drive) before getting it. All the mid size trucks except the Ridgeline and maybe the Ranger have the rear seat space issue. Ridgeline has as much rear leg room as a Pilot, and the Ranger cab is just a hair bigger (plus it tows 7500 lbs and gets better mpgs). Frontier is a small truck and its pretty clear Nissan was going after the Tacoma with this redesign. There are tons of reviews showing the space with a car seat. SV trim has a 6ft bed version also. I just got the Pro4X and my only complaint is that it revs high. The space comparison to a full size was pretty funny.
You can't compare a full size Chevy Silverado with a Mid size Frontier! I have a 2022 Pro 4x and I love it, I get 21mpg average. Perhaps you made the wrong choice for yourself, as we all know, everyone has different preferences and likes, that's why there are many options in the market.
Did you not test drive the vehicle before you bought it? Sounds like you didn’t do your research very well before buying the truck. Can only blame yourself for all these things you are bringing up as negative. 🤣🤪
Nissan sells exactly what your needing. It’s called Titan. But honestly thank you for showing how it looks like with a car seat. Love your Frontier, looks real sharp.
If you had bought the king cab version you'd have a six foot bed. But either way it's no problem just get a bed extender. Once you install it, you'll discover it's the most useful part of the truck.
Cylinder Deactivation kills the longevity of an engine. GM just had a class-action lawsuit about those 5.3 V8s blowing up right after the warranty was over. Basically when the cylinders turn off they start to cool and the oil in them cools a little as well, meanwhile the other half of the engine is burning hot. The temperature variation causes the cylinders to warp. And they turn back on when you need power, so you're hitting the gas and revving the cooler cylinders sky high. In short all the on-off and temp changes causes the engine to wear prematurely.
@Florida Trucks & Travel I'm glad to hear that! At this point you may be in the clear. My step-dad has had 3 Silverados in the last 40 years. The first 2 both made it 15+ years and 250k miles each before he sold them. The new one (2012) is halfway there and holding up with jo issues. Thanks for the great content! Love your Nissan and I actually think the red works really well with those wheels and tires!
It's all about the direct injection without port injection and valve lifters snapping. The Vortec 5.3 was much better than the Ecotech 5.3. cylinder deactiv. + no port injection is a recipe for problems and GM doesn't care.
sounds like a guy whining incoherently. Main reason i bought the frontier was the v6 naturally aspirated. and he wants a 4cyl turbo. smh. and i have 2 carseats in the back and have a 9 year old in the middle and have my seat almost all the way back with no issues. WAH 😢
Just bought a 23 frontier s king cab so far like my truck the lifetime powertrain warranty actually sold me only real gripe I agree tow hitch should be standard all trucks
It's called a tow package. An option on every truck sold ever. How did you not looks at the sticker? Also, a 5.5 foot bed actually gives you an extra 6 inches. So Florida man. Texans know how to buy trucks, and we don't care about the mileage.
I have the same truck my wife drives. and I have a ranger. the nissan is a few inches wider and can fit another child in the middle with two carseats. the ranger has much less in shoulder room and much less space between two car seats. ranger has only about 1 inch longer in leg room which doesnt make much of a difference if you have a carseat. the frontier is a midsize truck its not very fair to compare it to a full size truck. the only midsize truck im aware of that has more room in the cabin is the honda ridgeline. the dealer will have some trucks with the hitch on it and some without. they should all have hitches but im guessing its for the dealer to make money on dealer installed parts.
I have a base model AWD 2022 Ridgeline. Really smooth, refined ride, except for wind noise. Disabled vcm, and runs way better. I wanted a Nissan, but rear wheel drive in the snow and ice is not good. I had enough fun fish-tailing with my old Frontier. It lasted 254k though with original clutch. Was the 4-cylinder one; O.D. green. A real slug! But I loved it. Never Let me down.
That's why I live by the Rules, my own listed rules "Before" buying!! At first I think 🤔💭 about what am I gonna do with a pick up truck and 16 foot box 🚛. I thought 🤔 about it before buying them. What do I do for a living?? Am I just gonna buy it for fun for wanting it or for needing it?? There's a lot of difference between WANTED IT and NEEDED IT. at year 2010 I sold my Mitsubishi Lancer Evo and I bought a 2010 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4.0L V6 4WD with 6 Speed Manual transmission. I have money to buy a much better and expensive Toyota Tacoma but I'd rather go PRACTICAL. I bought it because I'm a General Contractor, Framer, Electrician, and Sheather, so I needed a Pickup that can tow, with a 4WD capabilities and with rear diff lock just in case if I encounter a jobsite with shitty road. The. In year 2017 I sold my Porche Panamera and and Suzuki Hayabusa I got the money then I bought a 2017 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Turbo Diesel 4WD 16ft box truck with hydraulic lift gate with 6 Speed Manual Transmission I bought it in Alberta, Canada it is brand new. The only car and motorcycle that I have left is my Nissan GT-R and my Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR Which is I'm planning to sell them next year and I don't drive and ride them that much because I'm too busy in my business. What do I needed the box truck for? That's for my additional workhorse 🐎 in my business, including moving business as well That's why in life people gotta think 🤔🤔🤔 before buying things. They need to be practical.
That has to be an "s" model base. The step up is th "sv" that has aluminum wheels. The sv has a hitch, class 3, that is upgraded with the TOW PACKAGE to a class 4. I believe the window sticker states 19 MPG combined, ya know on the window sticker at the dealer that is required to be there by law. As for the cruise control, I have zero problems with it maintaining the set speed. I could careless is the transmission has to up/downshift that is why it is an automatic.
You know what I like about them ? They don’t break down . They are one of the most reliable vehicles ever . My only complaint would be gas mileage but everything eats gas can’t really get around it unless you want to drive an electric joke .
I bought the truck because it was exactly what I needed. I love this truck ( hence the other 140 videos on the channel). I posted this video to get views and to get the channel started. Of which it did a a great job. Over 30,000 views and over 200 subscribers from this one video. Although I stand by the fact that the cruise control is garbage lol
So I have the king S model and I have the bigger truck bed… and I would rather have the 5 food truck bed But I don’t like the 6’ one…. Wanna switch… lol
Definitely not compare the two. Simply, stating that the backseat could be adjusted to at least fit a rear facing car seat. Not saying it has to be as roomie as a full-size truck, but it should at least fit
I got it because aside from these issues it does exactly what I need it to do. There is a short video I posted on here that goes over why I bought it. I really do like the truck. I know it doesn’t come off that way in this video 😂😂
I have a 3rd gen tacoma. The engine trans is so bad I’ve been looking to replace the truck with the Nissan pro 4x. Btw my tacoma gets 15 mpg in town and 16 hwy. how are you getting 21? Are you driving downhill?
@@Jerlemi2 no I just drive normal. I'm always wondering why everyone complains about how their Tacoma only get 15 mpg avg. If you drive it easy it isn't that bad. Do you have it lifted or something?
Haha. Ok. Well we know nowadays pawer and MPG are not always correlated. We can definitely get the same power out of a turbocharged engine with half the displacement. And I didn’t do any “research”. These are simply my opinions of the truck after owning it for a while.
My pro4x didn’t have a hitch from factory. Also the bed size can be selected larger by configuring the truck the way you wish. You saw the truck before you bought it right?
My pro4x didn’t have a hitch from factory. Also the bed size can be selected larger by configuring the truck the way you wish. You saw the truck before you bought it right?
You obviously hate your truck, trade in in on a Chevy! I have the pro 4X and love it, 0 issues! Has hitch, bed extender, fender system gets 24-26 hwy! I put a K&n on it, I plan on driving it for many years!
With those tires on the truck, don't expect good mileage. Aggressive off-road tires can easily drop fuel mileage a couple mpg. A turbo four wouldn't help either, turbo engines require fuel to create boost, any situation which requires power and requires more fuel to create boost. My '17 Ram 1500 w/3.6L and Destination AT2s would pull 16.5 mpg in stop/go commuting, but over 24 mpg on the highway so long as you stayed below 70 mph.
Since this video was filmed I have upgraded the wheels and tires. Went from a 265/65/16 Firestone Destination MT on the stock 16" rim to a 275/70/18 on a 18" Fuel Rebel. Even thought the tires and wheels are bigger the gas milage went up almost a whole MPG. Those Destination MT's were definitely some heavy bitches. lol
4 cylinder turbo and Cylinder deactivation? These all put added stress on the engine. A NA engine will last longer. Personally I don't care about MPG when driving a pick up truck. Thanks for sharing your views, and posting the video. I just bought a 2023 Pro 4X last week.
Something thats mind boggling to me is , how TF DID NISSAN MAKE A BETTER TRUCK THAN CHEVY?!... Like this looks clean, is v6, and nissan was so close to perfecting this.. sucks they didnt continue their titan. Imagine the titan with a redesign..
You could have ordered the hitch before you bought.Size of the bed could have been 6 foot if you ordered.I expect the 2022 has 9 gears turn off the adaptive Cruze control.Mileage dependent upon how you drive. Not sure why you bought this truck.2024 Nissan Frontier great truck , good mileage, smooth tranny with 6 ‘ box. Hitch with it.Sell yours by a turbo Colorado and watch it blow.
Every truck with a modern transmission does a grade shift mine does it too and I have a 2016 with the old 5 speed auto so some of these thinks I feel you complain about your just nitpicking because every modern truck transmission does grade shifting cause it’s trying to save your brakes.
My 2005 Frontier 2wd with the 4.0 got 21-22 mpg on the interstate with another person and my bed loaded with gear going through Kansas to spend the summer in Colorado. I’ve got 280,000 miles on mine and I can still hit 19 on the interstate most days.
5. There was a shortage of hitches so it probably was supposed to have a hitch but got deleted 4. You could have should have bought a truck with the long bed, it is available. 3 all adapted cruise sucks ass 2. If you want to get good fuel mileage buy a Maverick hybrid. 1. It's a midsize truck not a limo the back seat is just in case you have more than 2 passengers. Bonus, you should set fire to it because if I made that expensive of a mistake I think I would run all of my decisions through an advocate from now on.
Hahaha. Ok First I was simply stating that all trucks should come with a hitch standard. But they don’t and I think that’s ridiculous. Second I thought a 5 ft bed would be fine for me but it’s not. Not saying the truck is garbage just my own misjudgment. I wish I had gotten a longer bed option. Third, just because “all cruise control sucks ass” doesn’t mean it’s ok lol and doesn’t mean people know about it.. Fourth I simply said the MPG should be better. I’m this day and age I think we can do better. I know it’s class standard blah blah blah, doesn’t change the fact that the mpg is lacking And lastly the back seat can definitely be a hair bigger. Your telling me there is noooooo way we can add 3inches to the back seat. No way no how..Of course they can. At least make it big enough to fit a car seat in the back without the driver sitting on the dash. Lol and I would never consider a $30k truck “expensive”. Nor did I say I didn’t like the truck. Thanks for watching Jonny boy..
Stop comparing your full size truck to a mid size truck, lol. Go get a 22 Colorado and compare it to the 22 Frontier since they are both mid size trucks. The Frontier is leaps and bounds better then a 22 Colorado except for the cruise control. Yes cruise sucks until you get the voluntary TCM software update, Helped tremendously and the cruise was my biggest complaint originally, fine for me now. Trailer hitch, why didn’t you buy a Frontier with it on their already? Mine came with one. Gas mileage, I average 22 mpg mixed and I’m lifted 2.5” on stock tires. Interior complaints, sounds like you bought a midsized truck and expecting full size truck room. Bed length, again you are trying to compare to a crew cab full size truck, you also could have got a 6’ bed king cab and lose rear cab space. Can’t have everything with a midsize truck that a full-size is capable of. One of my complaints (use to be cruise control till I had the reflash) the side mirrors, for those with us with tow package they should be a capable tow mirror.
Here is my assessment of your video . A hitch is like 50-100$. cruise control is for cruising not driving up mountains. basically all midsized trucks with the acception of the 2.8 diesel get shit gas mileage. If space matters to you don’t get a small truck, get a full sized one. It sounds like you bought the wrong truck 😂. I bought the frontier because it’s small enough to fit it the little off-road trails I live near
Did you test drive this or was it a Carmax situation? Like you bought it online and they dropped it off in your driveway? Because everything you don't like could have been figured out on the test drive.
Actually I did test drive it. All the issues I talked about in this video weren’t a deal breaker for me. I have another vide on here talking about why I actually brought the truck and what I’m using it for. Thanks for watching!
Can you believe this guy he should take his own advice I have that truck 2022 sv frontier it has the hitch the gas mileage is 22-23 high way and I have a rack and 3 tool boxes around on the bed can’t even feel them on the truck and it’s a truck why you caring kids
You are more of a full size pick up guy, Silverado is not a mid size like the Frontier. You should have gone for the Titan if Nissan was your top choice. But I understand the Frontier is an affordable mid size truck.
What were you thinking when you first saw this truck? During this time you observed the 5" bed? As a Judge would ask a defendant before a plea deal - "Did you read this document? Did you discuss it with your attorney and did you understand it?" Kind of the same thing here - AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I get it now; I totally get it YOU'RE married aren't you?
Ask the dealer about the hitch/ on my truck I got them to include it in the price as i said the reason i want this is towing a small trailer..they included one. The bed.. you can get a 5" or 6' bed why didnt you get the 6"? The MPG is rated for just about what youre actually getting so you should have known. So you basically bought a vehicle you shouldn't have and you're trying to compare full size vs mid size. you need to go get another full size.. you wont ever be happy in a mid size as the Chevys and Toyota have same or less leg room..Sounds like you didnt do your Due Diligence before you bought. So lets sum it up you got a 5' bed instead of the 6" optional bed(other then a Pro4x which I believe only comes 5') and willingly did so and complain about it, You are getting the exact MPG thats advertised and yes they CAN actually get 24 or even 35 on a open highway no hills or city driving..but thats not here nor there..youre getting the advertised MPG, the back seating outside the Ridgeline which is substantailly larger and wider is almost same across the Mid size lines NONE of them would be apparently adequate for you.. Ypu basically didnt do your research, willingly bought something that didnt suit you(bed size, interior size, MPG all are fixed things and basically the same among all the trucks...you are getting the same MPG from a v6 as you are from the Turbo 4's in other models sometimes better..and a less complicated engine also(no turbo) So looking at the complaints what you actually want is a FULL SIZE 4x4 truck with a Crew cab and 6' bed(there isnt a single mid size again outside the Ridgeline that meets your criteria as all have almost the exact same back seat room DONT get better MPG and are going to be tighter then the FULL size you keep referencing).. but instead got a Mid size to complain about instead.. gotch ya..
