Nice video 👍AWD cars all have a wide turning radius I have RS and it is the same as my previous EVO 8. I agree on suspension but honestly I don’t even think about stiff ride anymore. I put on weighted Raceseng Ashiko which weighs 675 grams shifts smoothly now. I have RS1 and the drivers seat is a lot lower than RS2 seats. Agreed on exhaust note.
First of all cool name, second of all you’re right ab awd having wide a wide turning radius, but the focus itself really struggles with it. I have an ST and it’s bad as well
The only point that is not strictly a matter of your personal opinion is #2, the stock suspension sucks. Now if you want a small pro-tip, put your spare wheel face down. That’s a $0.00 “mod” that lowers your CoG a little bit and thus improves your car’s dynamic slightly, and you can also put something inside it, like a net for your helmet or whatever.
Hey, i want to buy this car up north and was wondering how the ground clearance would be for winters? I don't think I really over modify the car besides exhaust, intake, tune.
I drive it in the winter. Heavy snow area. The clearance is low but haven't had any issues. Gotta turn the TCS completely off by holding ut down 5 seconds or so. The stock engine undertray will also tear off unless you replace it with an aluminum one or coat the factory one in fiberglass resin to reinforce it. The RS is an absolute blast in the winter. Drift mode is basically rally mode in the snow.
I actually use to daily this every day in Northeast, and it handles like a beast as long as it has the right tires! And for the same thing that Steve mentioned, upgrading to an aluminum under tray is pretty crucial, but a really easy mod to do at home
I own an RS and watching your video makes me regret that purchase and confirms I should’ve stuck with a new gold R. It’s a great car for what Ford has tried to accomplish but i hate to say it but you’re right in every way and Ford is still light years behind its German rivals I’m talking derive ability use ability tuner unfriendly jeez the list goes on. What sucks is when you try to sell it as I’m finding out for myself you can’t give these cars away due to all the negative reviews.
Mine went through 1 engine at 17k miles and 2 headgaskets 1 that lasted only 5k miles. After that I sold it, and it was hard to sell as no where seemed to want it in the end I had to take less than I wanted. The veering steering is also dangerous and ford have failed to acknowledge it. I'm done with ford now they've dropped the ball and I know many others feel the same way ford just aren't interested and have made a car with numerous faults. Apparently rusting underneath is also a problem a few have had with the mk3
4:00 your video shows the car going off the track and toward solid objects...lol As for mods, I kinda like the car as is. In the end I still like the car stock and good luck selling the car with your mods
It is really too bad all these helpful suggestions to Ford are now moot. It is irritating that we will not see the next iteration of this very cool and special little car. I sold mine last year hoping to buy another when they updated and improved it. Oh well. --Michael
