I sat down with just $100 (I think). I hit the pinball after around $40. I low roll most of my plays, so I don't think it would have been much more than that.
@@TexasRose71. I have a tendency to stop after a good payout, even if it is $100. I need to learn, too, when to keep going and when to stop. That is why I really enjoy this channel!
Following your advice my wife and I had an amazing day on Fri. We went in with $100 each and found some lower volatility reel machines to build up on. I ended up hitting a $900 line hit. I banked most of it and took a few hundred to go play Buffalo Gold. I got my first ever handpay! $5383. 81 free spins on the bonus game and all the Golden Buffalo heads. It was the best feeling in the world. The adrenaline had my hands sweaty and shaking.
@@CowboySlots For sure. I jackpotted two machines in an hour. I can't stop telling people about it! Everytime I talk about slots with anyone I bring up your channel and tell them it is a wealth of knowledge if they want to learn how to play better. I also commonly hear people telling slot myths and I direct them to you guys. Thanks!
Also one time my mom sat down at a Buffalo link machine and picked $0.25 denom and put a $100 bill in, and pushed to bet 100 credits thinking it was a dollar. It was $25 😂 she had no clue. Luckily she accidentally won $6000, but it can be a big gut punch!
Happened to me! I thought I was betting $2.50, nope, it was $25 by accident. I won a jackpot, but only a little over $1200. Not really worth it, unless the JP shows up quickly. Four spins at $25 each = $100. That adds up way too fast. Other times, similar mistakes, but NO jackpot. Just lost a lot of money in a hurry. UGH.
I like to put in $100 at a time. If it gets to $150, I cash out and stash the ticket and put another $100 in. I keep doing the same (cashing out at $150 or higher) and putting in a new $100 until I lose the entire $100. Then I quit. And, obviously, if I lose the first $100, that’s my session and I’m done!
Yes I'm looking into different techniques. I was looking into doing exactly what you're doing but with a $20 bill and saying if it goes above 20 I'm just going to pull it out put that in my front pocket and take another 20 out put it in if it goes above 20. The question is what percent of the time do I lose my 20 or do I get $21 or more. At the moment it's about 33% of the time I get 21% or more I'm not sure how to raise that percentage. I'm curious with your $100 method what's your percentage that you get up to your $150 goal?
@@painfullyhonest well, I’ve never been that scientific about it. I just know that the technique limits my losses at slot machines. And, every so often, I have a streak and come out way ahead! Once I had 8 tickets totaling $1100 until I lost my $100. A nice profit.
When I hit a decent pay out spin, (that amount of ‘decent’ varies with everyone. But let’s say I make a $3 spin and get a good bonus round for a few hundred bucks, I usually cash out and move on. I like to accumulate a stack of winning tickets that way, instead of giving the money back to the machine by expecting another great spin. After a bit, if I desire to play that machine again, I’ll come back with a conservative amount of money less than what I won to try and insure I’m going to hold onto some of that original win. You’re right. Self control and discipline is the key to walking out of the casino with more money than I walked in with. It’s fun to play slots and even more fun when you’ve played for a few hours with a nice profit to enjoy.
Over the years, I started to deploy what I call my "Hit-N-Run" strategy. Typically, I do it when in Downtown Vegas where I can leave one casino and enter another in minutes. I find one of my favorite machines, drop in a predetermined amount and start playing. So say I put in a hundred...more often than not, within a few spins I will be up to $120-$130. I immediately cash out and start walking. If I lose around $30, I cash out and find another machine. This weird way of playing has netted me quite a few bucks over the years. Plus, it's a neat way to see what every place has to offer. Also, I've joined more than a few slot clubs and sometimes they have had free play, etc that I took advantage of.
Thanks Marc for the info. I missed out on $4000+ by not playing max credits on Top Dollar. I did make $290 on that spin instead. Ouch! I just wasn’t ready for a $10 spin. Just grateful I went home with $800 for the day.
I was at Hardrock Casino in Gary, Indiana last week. Went in with $100. Was down to $15 on Piggie Banking playing 50 cents a spin and hit the $2400+ Major! Crazy
There is something that I call "winner's tilt". This is why (in my opinion) gamblers put all their money back after a huge jackpot win. They actually go into a different mode after they win. I've done it so many times. They begin to think they can't lose and get very reckless, betting higher and staying at the casino longer. The best way I handle it nowadays is go home and buy something I wanted but couldn't afford before and pay as many bills as I can. Then I can go back to the casino next time with new money. It can be so much more fun that way!! It isn't even hard to do.
Great Post! How much money have you lost after your winnings? I experienced problematic gambling behavior and yesterday I banned myself for one year. (it's a possible option here in Germany for problem gamblers). Hope I will gamble more responsible when the ban is over.
@@mollyds4528I was up 1.400€. I lost 800€ the next day and I banned myself from gambling for 1 year shortly after. Overall I won 600€ but I know now that I tend to problematic gambling behavior.
Thank you for your tips. Yesterday I won $500 at our local casino, I was smart…..cashed out and took a break! Hard to get up and not keep playing but I was this time Smart!! lol.
The other day I sat down at the thunder cash machine and put 40 bucks in pushed the button and realized it was a $25 a spin but luckily I won $135 on that spin I cashed out and kept playing other machines good times
What a valuable lesson!! This is something I need to work HARD on - I never spend more than I should, but I almost never go home with money because I stay until it's all gone - all of it. I need to start taking a break and I just bought one of those Player's Bank and I am going to start using it.. Thank you for all the great tips
yeah I like those little Winners' Banks - they're about the size of a deck of cards. But they have a limit as to how many hundos you can stuff into them - I've found that more than $800 just won't fit and the bills get torn up if you try force in more. So, I have one in my purse and one extra in my car. If I get a big win, it's good to take a break, walk to the car; put some of the hundreds into the extra bank; then I move the car in case anyone has been watching me. Then, with a good portion of a jackpot safely stowed away (the keys to the banks are of course at home), I can allow myself to play some more and enjoy myself, knowing that I'm going home WITH cash.
Wellllllll I just started hanging out at the casino. I don’t like to lose. I picked keno slots as my best bet and best bang for my buck. Just won 1799 handpay on a quarter.
Used your build up method at Aria couple of weeks ago. Hard to find older games there. I did find a .25 five line top dollar and played every morning and built up at least two hundred for the day. Also ended my night there before going upstairs and usually walked away with another two hundred. Didn’t do as well on higher priced machines, but never put more than twenty in the one I found. Thanks for the advice!
Another recommendation I’d like to add: Take a friend or family member with you to the casino. Once you’re ready to take your break, watch and root for your friend, etc. Take turns; it keeps you from getting bored and it won’t cost you anything extra. I pretty much just watch my parents when I’m not playing anyway, which works for me. 😁
It might sound really simple but #4 is a good tip. I made a massive mistake one time. I’m almost too embarrassed to even admit it, but what the Hell. I was in the High Limit room at I think the Bellagio and I was playing a game and actually won a small hand pay, but then I got up and moved to another machine. I put a $1,000 voucher in and saw that the button farthest to the right said 888 on it. I guess I don’t know what exactly I was thinking but I guess I thought it was maybe only an $8.88 bet. Nope. It was an $888 bet. Maybe the denomination was set on dollars and I didn’t notice. I really don’t know. Of course I didn’t hit anything and I was absolutely shocked when I looked at my credits and saw I only had $112 remaining. It was then when I realized what I had just done. Then I said to myself “Damn, if only I had hit something.” But, what can you do?
Thanks Marc! Great advice as always, tip # 5 is what I struggle with if I've won and I'm up it's easier for me to leave, being competitive by nature I'm determined to hit those 7's and I keep going, leaving a casino with nothing is the worst feeling...I've gotta get better at hanging that rope up and calling it quits.
You ain’t t the only who feels that pain. What exactly has to happen for that whole scenario to happen. Is it just our greed? We know better but seem to not remember what usually happens…our wheels have fallen off again. The key to not doing what we do usually is to actually set some boundaries and stick to them especially if you’ve got a nice jackpot and then go to try and “break the bank”. Just say , “NO!” (thanks Nancy) Some discipline will be helpful and on my way to,Barona in a minute. 👍🏻 send me some good vibes. And Happy New Year.🇺🇸 ❤️💪😎
I have watching and rewatching your vids. Took your advice and went in with a plan and a budget. Walked away when i hit for 1000$ so i made a 600$ profit. Thank you for your channel.
Here is a lot of good advice for novice and expert play alike! In the past many times, I have assumed all is well and had no limits set solidly, and then realized only afterwards I hadn't calculated my odds of winning realistically. It is safe to say most all have had the same false sense of security. Nice job, Mark!
Thanks for your advise. Next time I go to Las Vegas I will check out those machines @ MGM, as long as MGM doesn't remove or replace them with new games!
Another amazing video! Thank you so much you have both certainly changed my mentality on gambling. I have sat for hours before at a machine but I don't anymore!
Thank u so much for this explanation of how to find the rules, what to look for, how the breakdown of the betting etc. I walked into the casino and had no clue what i was doing or what was happening it just looked like people where having fun so i tried it b4 i watched a video, and i was so lost. Of course i won nothing but i was so confused and didnt want to ask so i left. So thank u for the breakdown for those of us who have no clue about playing. Now i feel confident in returning with some knowledge of how to get an understanding of a machine i would like to play. Thank u
Great advice to stick by. I am so bad. I get sucked in and end up losing what I won and then put in more money to chase my loses. I cuss myself out for doing this. I had a counselor once who told me that the high you can get from gambling is the same high people who abuse drugs get. It works on the exact same receptors in the brain as addictive drugs. Also, one casino I’ve played at won’t let you go take a break and sit in the seats away from the gaming for more than a few minutes. After a few minutes they will tell you can’t sit there any longer and that you need to be playing. It didn’t happen to me, but I saw it happen to a man who was waiting while his wife played.
It's called dopamine. Your body can produce it and send it to your brain with near misses. The casinos are well aware of the medical science surrounding dopamine. That's why taking breaks is so important when playing slots.
I played a rakin bacon machine in ceasers LV didn't realize it was 10 cent and maxed bet I hit a line hit for over 20k and then realized it was $88 a spin. My biggest HP all time because of dumb luck. Luckily it hit 3 or 4 spins in. I do pull out the calculator to check what I'm betting but still have been known to bet more than intended.
Thanks Marc for the advice. I've bet $125 when I wanted $12.50. It's so easy to miscalculate the bet amount when you are dealing with denom, lines played, and wager per line. Three separate decisions will dictate your total wager per spin.
We go to a local Indian casino,my favorite machine is Nordic Journey, they have 7 of these machines amongst a couple thousand of other machines, sometimes I play max, sometimes not,I’ll put in $100 play it ,if I win $200 on top of the 100,I’ll cash the ticket and pocket $175 then move onto the next Nordic Journey, still playing on the original $100,I’ll play all seven machines, very rarely do I leave in the minus,2 nights ago walked in with $200 walked out with $1,875,you’re right on discipline is the key, great video👍👍👍
As far as I can see the only thing that will make you a better slot player is to understand that slots are a form of entertainment the fact is the more you play and the bigger stake you play the more you will loose in the long run you will never win at slots understand this then pick your favorite slot and enjoy 😉
I jumped on a machine at the pala casino last week thinking I was playing less than I thought. I put my 50.00 in pressed the button and won 800.00!!! Thank goodness I won otherwise I would’ve been crying especially I was walking out the door at that time.
Slot machines are like day trading. You need a game plan and technical skills like trailing stop loss and stop limit. If you are just mindlessly pressing a button, casino always get their money back.
Another great video, even knowing this, there are times we play more than we should. I have been gambling for 25 years and have had my good and bad days. When winning, I will usually give back 20% of my wins so I get up with some profit from that machine
Hi Marc that’s really great info about the game rules, I never knew they showed things like the actual bonus payouts on the piggies and stuff. I will definitely pay more attention to the game rules, after all it’s our hard earned money we’re putting into these machines! It gets tough when your local casino has like 7k machines 😂 Thanks guys.
Thanks so much for your videos. I'm shocked at how much money I've left with casinos over the years... partly because I didn't have the knowledge you share and also because I simply went along with the machine's 'designed temptation'. I'm grateful to have access to your channel. 🤓👍✅
Great advice!!! Ty so much for that! I have a really hard time with taking breaks and then it becomes losses and then- no fun😣 I need to work on breaks for sure! ❤️
Back in my lower betting days I walked up to a machine at the MGM Grand. Put in $100, hit 45 cents and in 2 spins my money was gone. $45 bet, oops. Didn't win on either but imagine if I would have lol. Money back would have been nice at least.
I never been to Casinos but do play slots & casino on phone & simular situation & tips I don't apply 1 & especially 5 but have slacked off some @ using all my coins (no cash) game. At 1 time I was addicted to the poker machines so I don't play for real cash, can't say never will 😂
I believe that if you have to max bet on a machine to hit the jackpot it should be posted where you can see it and not have to search for that info! Some machines have it and some don’t.
A long time ago I sat at a machine and I spent about $100 trying to get the bonus round to hit. FINALLY, to my delight, I got the three bonus "free spins" symbols.........and nothing happened. I was confused. It was then that I looked at the game rules and discovered that I needed to be betting max to be eligible for the free spin bonus. I won't even try to describe the anger I immediately felt. From that moment on, I have never sat at a new slot machine without reading the rules before putting any money in.
Players cards make no difference. This is a myth and a topic we’ve covered. Please see this video and look in the video description or comments for the chapter guide where you can find out about this myth and others: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wZ96IZNRKh0.html
Contrary to mainstream advice, I always use an ATM card. My budget is $1,000 for a one night stay. I pull my daily $500 limit when I arrive. If I get wiped out then my card resets at 1AM and can get $500 more. My bank refunds all ATM fees. Don’t bring any other way to get $ so keeps me honest and spaces my max limit out.
that’s perfect what I do!! but I take 20s but now I know better see I never cared to hit big. Very stupid of me now I’m playing for big money. I’m willing to bet more than 50-60 cents
First tine i went i realized people dont understand how it works. I put little money in, and made a little, but i learned quite a bit while i tried the machine,i played at least 4 hours with 10 dollars😂 in the end i was bored and instead of quitong i played badly and left with nothing. I was happy becausr i didnt realy lose a bunch of money, but i want to learn ,and like i said, some people seem they sitdown with the only goal of losing their money😂😂😂
Great Video Marc, Thank You For All The Helpful Tips I Will Be Using Them When I Go To The Silver Star & Golden Moon Casino In Philadelphia, Mississippi Memorial Day Weekend, I Appreciate The Helpful Advice & Tips:
The hit by on progressives don't always pay out high. I got 9021.00 k major for 5$ on mustang money and the machine next to me at 9,800k my friend got nothing...wrong it's the same percentage
I’m in SC and the only casino is the Big M out of Little River SC…. Is it worth playing slots on a casino boat… it’s a 45 minute ride to get into into international waters
I have a weird question, there's a local casino here where I live. I hope to win, but mostly go to unwind, and my budget is very small like 20-60 per week. Any recommendations for a small budget gambler? I tend to stay there 2 to 3 hours then go home.
I play in the UK so maybe it's different. You mentioned teasers to keep you playing, you can get two spin bonus symbols but not the third, yet the third many times you can see is the next symbol to drop but stops short, so that's a teaser, yet that will happen dozens even hundreds of times without dropping in, how's that random?
90% of the progressives you find are "normal" progressives. If it's a must-hit by progressive, you will see the words "Must Hit By", "Must Win By", or "Must Pay By" and then the number somewhere near where the progressive is displayed to you. On older games, it might be in the game rules, but that's very uncommon.
Very useful information, thank you! my friends goes to the casino around 2 am saying is when they reset the slot machines and he wins more money.... is it true about casinos reseting the slot machines?
I used to go to the same machine same time same day once a week. Started with same amount of money, won same amount each week. Came in one day and machines had been moved
Saw those 3 reel dollar slots at Delta downs , Louisiana.... not familiar with few of the titles.. american beauty or life of luxury very volatile? Going back soon! Thanks, Marc!
I've been watching for awhile I like this channel. Some things don't relate to stuff in australia. In America yous have thunder cash. We have thunder bucks. Ours is still a progressive but not a must hit by. Yes dragon link is a very popular game to the point that most clubs only have that lightning link, cash etc Abit uncommon to see a club, pub RSL that has more machines then aristocrat ones
GREAT VIDEO...and you are soo right..."do the math!!" , your smartphone does have a calculator on it so dont be shy!!! (you can pretend your texting someone lol)
