Wish there was a video like this that told me the obstacles id encounter into starting my own business. More specifically my mobile detailing business in California, as I speak about the things that have most impacted me and my business. I operated a mobile detailing business for 10 years. 5 yrs full time 5yrs part time. Started when I was 23yrs old. I’m 44 and about to start up again after 8 years off. Your videos have inspired me. @@litinthemitt3206 In 2006 we had a winter that rained almost every week from January to April. Which was unheard of in SoCal. It got so slow I had to let go of both my employees and I was barely keeping myself above water. That could’ve been avoided had I not turned down so much work. I was young and wasnt trying to work so much that was my fault. Shortly after we had a really bad recession in 2008 and most my business locations went out of business or moved out of state. That put me on unemployment for a while and I was driving my truck and I let the insurance expire and the the night before I went to get my insurance my truck got stolen with no insurance. when I tried to After that every time I tried to restart the business, I tried with a business partner and it never worked out. This time I’m older, smarter, and starting by myself as an owner. It’s was first my fault and then it was bad luck one thing after another. All that could’ve been avoided had I not turned down so much business in the beginning.

Started my business in March 2022 and going well. Started with 0$ on my account after startupfees. Been a slow start, but did put hours in like a madman. When I didn't have customers, I put the efforts in structuring the business, making future plans etc, marketing, businesscourses, contacting entrepeneurs, looking for suppliers and testing them out etcetc. From day 1 it's actually a 24/7 job, but I do it with so much passion and perceverance it doesn't feel like work. There's 1 thing though, always remember to have a build-in structure in your day-2-day going. What I mean is, give yourself time to relax, go to the fitness, read a book or just have a walk or go for a ride..whatever you need and works for you to have a clear state of mind each day. Find your moments of peace within the struggle and you'll be able to push through towards your goals 😉

Hey James, I think this video is right on point young man. Some of these hard knocks you’ve learned are the very experiences that set you apart from your competitors. Many of us can learn from you and your experiences. Those that don’t will have to learn the hard way themselves. I especially respect the comment about self care. I agree with #2. You’ll see a lot of videos of people saying “how I made 10k a month detailing!” Or something crazy like that. Which can be true but nobody tells you how that is a unlikely scenario or it takes years to build that kind of clientele. There’s a lot of messages and hardly anyone booking you. Etc etc

I just started my detailing business at home. I got my first customer yesterday I was just wanting to know when it will be necessary to start a LLC. I follow Carlton Dennis I believe is his name on RU-vid and he said it’s not necessary to form a LLC until you have at least 45K in revenue, so what is your take on this?
