So the No.1 Travel grill needs two big guys to move it, plus a screwdriver and it needs a table? The KJ weighs 75lb. Make sure you travel with friends.
You could easily get that off by yourself he just didn’t want to dirty the shirt. I don’t see how a full grown man couldn’t lift 50+ pounds, it’s not like you’re lifting it off the ground.
This went from reasonable traveling grills to #1+2 being a bit 'glamper' status. I mean if you take a full sized TV places, why not a full size grill. I don't see me lugging 1 or 2 to the beach.
This was a good detailed review. Thank you. I have borrowed my son's very old Weber Q and was impressed with the heat but I could not get it to run below 300º. Is there a trick to do that? I recently bought the Napoleon Travel Q 285 and like the two burners, but even with one burner on low and the other off, the cooler side of the grill is still hotter than I want for low and slow bbq. Is there a way to reduce temperatures?
Thanks for the nice review. It would be nice if you used a tape measure to give dimension on each of them, especially the ones that fold. That’d add some more detail to the comparison and is very helpful.
I’m not impressed with any of them. Napoleon looks like it cannot stand up. Webber name is living in the past. They make expensive poor quality and design. Weber customer service is terrible. Kamado Joe is not portable unless you’re a body builder and big bucks. Coleman like Weber is over priced and poorly made.
Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier ru-vid.comUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.
I have two Napoleon TravelQ Pro 285’s. I recently ordered the rotisserie/pizza kit that is now being sold in the US. I apologize for not checking if you sold the kit. The TravelQ is very well made and versatile. It does not get as hot as my Weber Q 1000, but that is better for everything except for steaks.
How does the Coyote Portable perform when it comes to cooking alone? I am waiting for my Bo Jackson edition which costs 40% less compared to the standard model but appears to have identical specs.
What about after you use the grill for hrs or few days after camping. How well does it work with the cleaning before you travel with it. Meaning, can you just close up and go without a good cleaning? Or is the grease gonna make a big mess? How does the under tray grease catcher rate?
The reason why I choose the Weber over the Napoleon grill is because replacement parts are easier to find for the Weber than the Napoleon. I looked it up and I saw a replacement burner much cheaper for the Weber and widely available. It was hard to find parts for the Napoleon travel grill.
Here at this point a thank you to you. For the great contributions. Warm greetings from Germany. It's a shame that you're not around the corner for me.
You really need to at least put MSRP and figure that into the equation also. I can get a couple of portables and a home grill for the $1000 price tag of the #1 Everdure that's not really as portable or compact as the others aside from the Joe JR.
I am glad you mentioned in the #1 that it comes in other colors because that one is really the worst color I have ever seen for a grill top. I still want the Weber traveler Compact...
Ok so I really love that napoleon....but it's gas...I'm a 100% charcoal guy...so do they have a charcoal version of that one and if not can it be easily converted to charcoal? I drive big rigs and I cook dinner well alot. I have a nomad but all I'm saying is that it's the biggest waste of money. So space is very important and I love that scissor stand. Soooo if that can be done to the napoleon next time I'm home which I live in Colorado I'll come buy one
@@Wealthishealth89 I apologize for taking so long. But I’m a truck driver so you get where I’m coming from. First off the nomad is not worth no $700, I had issues with venting to start with. During traveling it was heavily secured with two ratchet straps…it wasn’t going anywhere…but the screws constantly came out that held the interior parts. I re done them and even used industrial thread lock and the broke off. So the grill parts would not stay in place. In my opinion just overall not very well built. I now have a Weber go anywhere grill that serves my needs.
Ironic Im considering the opposite.. Im a charcoal purist but getting tired of bringing the grill, a bucket of coal, chimney. On my primitive camping trips just for myself. That equipment is more space then any other items i bring
This ru-vid.comUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo unit was an easy install and turned out amazing. The dimensions were exact! I took a chance and built the wall prior to receiving the unit which arrived sooner than expected and it fit right in the space I constructed. The heat output is perfect for the space we needed and made the room exactly how we envisioned it to turn out. I am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thank you for the awesome product just in time for the holidays.
did trevor ever do a top 5 charcoal grill? top 5 portable charcoal grill? these would make great content as well. As for this video, it's unfortunate that he didn't include the q1200 in the list. I would argue that's a step above alot of these grills including the q1000.
You haven't mentioned that the Weber Traveler will stand vertically when folded. The Napoleon doesn't. Also the Napoleon looks like the left hand shelf will drag on the floor when you wheel it.
The left hand shelf doubles as a straight up stand as others mentioned it will fold. The travelQ looks like the winner of the lot. Two burners can't be beaten
The left hand table automatically angles as a footstand when you stand it vertically. It absolutely stands vertically with no assitance. I got the non pro model, because I have no intention of cooking a whole beer chicken on it. (I'll go with my Weber Kettle charcoal) It's really awesome for what it does (burgers, wings, sausages, hot dogs, searing steaks). I just ordered the optional griddle as well, so that I can make eggs and pancakes while out camping.
Not impressed on this review... This guy knows more about his Jordan tennis shoes than he does about grills. Review the section on how he attempts to open the Weber Traveler
It comes down to the cooking. Had the Traveler. No versatility. No additional attachments and only one burner so no indirect cooking and the burner took forever to heat grill up. Best thing about was the folding and unfolding. No one is carting that heavy ceramic grill around so calling it portable.....
Really enjoy your videos man ! You helped me decide on my Weber Genesis ii. Laughed pretty hard at the fumbles too lol 13:08 " all the travel girls get really hot " 🤣🤣
You didn't show the larger Weber Q, the deeper lidded Weber grill Q versions, or the cart for the Weber Q series. Like the dual burners in the Napolean Q but don't think that it will matter in a grill that size.... Maybe it will allow the whole grill to grill at a lower temp...
