Fun Fact: the cleaver was used in ancient China & we used to call them a "kitchen axe &/or meat hatchet" here in the west. It wasnt till later ot got the name "Cleaver" which is more descriptive of what it does than what it is.

Most things are designed for daily use from what was available or extra laying around. Now days many people have started looking at making knives out of metals designed just for them

Are you 100% Tom Brown invented the Tracker or did he steal that design from Robb Russon & take it to Tops & take credit for it?

Not true! The cleaver shape was invented by the man Mr. Cleaver whom the show LEAVE IT TO CLEAVER was going to be based on. Unfortunately didn't really have much of a point to the show so it ended up getting chopped

TC. Have ya looked into who designed the original Tracker&how Tom Brown ripped off a schhol teacher who read his book&designed the knife from that? Do you know the other side of the story? Or do ua think it's a load of BS? I just found this out a couple months ago.

The Bowie is my favorite. Been buying and carrying Bowie knives since 1987. Bought many a knife in your store over the decades too. My edc knife for the last six years or so is the TOPS Prather War Bowie. Might even be the smallest one I have, but it’s fantastic in the hand. I’ve processed firewood, cut up brisket, cleaned fish, and cut melons with it. All done very well. As useful in the kitchen as it is in the bush. But the best part of the Prather War Bowie is all the knife envy it creates when people see you using it! 🇺🇸

Big Bowie guy here too! Love them, use them, carry them, been over seas with one, the history it carries. Been eye balling the Prather, currently have it in my cart. was looking for a reason to pull the trigger on it. This comment is it! Thanks.

In my very biased opinion, this is the best SMKW video ever! A little Canadian Belt Knife action in here too would have made this the best video on all of RU-vid. Controversial statement - maybe. Accurate statement - absolutely. Keep up the great work!!!

I think the tracker does everything somewhere between mediocre and great. Much of it comes down to training, I guess. But to me, familiarity with your knife will change your abilities from mediocre to excellent. (You kind of cover that when you were talking about South Americans and their machetes.)

Never ceases to amaze how many people have no imagination. If you were trying to chop up A deer, you might figure out the usefulness of a cleaver. Also TC, Google Robb Russon , Check out his sons evidence he created the tracker. Interesting and sad. Not some thing that happens very often in the knife community. As far as I know.
