Sedans are gold standards for car but "bhed chaal" is killing the pleasure and comfort offered by sedans.

Well sedans depends on needs of an individual. Do you need foldable seats? Do you require more headspace? Do you require more ground clearance? Do you require more commanding view? Do you have old people at your home who struggles to get in and out of cars? Do you require easy ingress? If yes then you go for the compact suv. But if you need comfortable ride, value for money car, stable ride, loves to drive and don't mind the ground clearance, doesn't go offroading much or go for long drives, doesn't want to sleep inside the car, doesn't care about headroom... Then yes you can go for sedans.. Its not that people aren't going for sedans just like that.. Trust me I would take sedan over an SUV but i have my old parents my grandmother everyone I have take into account when buying a vechicle soo I have to look into ingress and outgress, more headroom as I am 6feet and i dont want to feel cramped inside, also I need foldable seats. If any sedan will give it the yes I would go for it but city doesn't verna doesn't. Because of that I am shifting towards the SUV no hate towards sedan but it is a use case scenario

As someone who owned a City and recently moved to an Elevate, the only reason was underbelly scraping on speedbreakers around my home, which i have to deal with everyday. In fact, I had not got a Civic (old model) because my parking has a ramp where my neighbour's Civic's front used to scrape - imagine having to live with that day in and day out😢 Otherwise, sedans have always been my first choice and I maintain that there's no better vehicle on a good road than a City❤

I have used too many cars in my life, maruti 800 , fiat, ambassador, van, eco sport,, i20,Brezza, scross, scorpio etc but I am fan of Honda City and in a long journey it's comfort and ride quality is unmatched.

IMO the best value for small family is either Fronx Delta Plus (Optional) with 6 airbags or Grand Vitara Sigma Base variant which has tons of features.

if i am buying a sedan, i wont cry for the low ground clearance, infact i think that the main USP of the sedans are their lower ground clearance which helps in aerodynamics. they look cool and sporty, the only thing i hate about the Virtus is its high ground clearance. somethings should not be altered with, if one wants high ground clearance, there are plenty of options in the SUV segment.

Honda city & verna :low ground clearance. Kushaq : shoulder room is less because width is less 35 lakhs hilux : not for normal person, not for daily use. Carens : not fuel efficient compared to rivals.

I personally prefer sedan over any other car but I think on 3 points these cars are failing .. 1. For sedans they are failing due to road conditions .. drainage system is poor in rainy season .. khaddo me sadak hai .. considering these consumers have to pay high service cost 2. The hype that has been created in the market for SUV is on the next level that manufacturers themselves give a SUV tag to their hatchbacks also .. Take IGNIS for example .. 3. This is not a factor but it still is affecting the market .. Knowledge and awareness .. we all know how much an inch is but when companies show this number in "mm" it looks like a huge difference in ground clearance but in reality it is not much of a difference .. Normally 90% of consumers think of the first two factors then they see the third factor "oh! ground clearance is good" and they run after the SUV .. This is my personal opinion if anyone has a different opinion they can always reply to my comments ..

The City is a tried and tested car, & the transmission and engine are 👌👌👌. They've increased the ground clearance, however bad Indian roads force buyers to go for SUVs.

Bhai aapki baat sahi hai par agar practically soche toh everyone wants a high ground clearance car today taaki koi stress na ho kahin se bhi nikalne me ....I dont understand why companies like Honda are not offering mid size suv's or compact suv's to lower the dominance of Hyundai, Tata and Maruti . They need to change according to the market if they want to sustain in long term . No matter how good is your car is but if its not practical enough or suits the needs of indian customers, it will ultimately fail and thats what Honda is experiencing. Also companies like Skoda and Volkswagen are not selling in huge numbers becoz they are very expensive for middle class buyers where Hyundai, Tata and Maruti are strongly capturing the middle class segment. Secondly, their maintanance, service cost , spare parts availability still today is a big question ❓❓❓

Verna looks crap now. Previous generation of Verna I used to like. This one doesn't has that presence. No one needs City in Indian conditions. Better approach will be they make a car like Basalt and give their 1.5 NA engine in that. ADAS too they need to provide radar and camera based. Right now they have only camera one. Neither in facelift there were any drastic changes. Also, it became too much expensive than 4th generation city. Many RU-vidrs too mentioned about insulation issue in 5th Gen City. Even in Elevate they mentioned about that but they didn't even tried to rectify these small things Taigun, Kushaq etc will feel good but let a major issue come after 4-5 years then one will understand why people refrain from VW group cars. It's not only about procurement. If repair costs are on expensive side then too people mostly gonna ignore them unless someone too much crazy about them

Come to Mumbai or Pune and see the state of roads, I bet you'll find better roads in typical industrial areas or around agricultural fields. It just doesn't make sense to drive a car with low GC which will keep bumping and banging into sinkholes or mini mountains. There's a good reason why SUVs provide more peace of mind and hence the demand.
