Flooring stores…that’s a rabbit hole for sure. Usually flooring includes tile and yes, our local flooring stores use dispatch to deliver pallets of tile. Keep in mind that tile is damn heavy and you’re touching every ounce of that load. You could get creative and have a pallet jack and tailgate lift to make deliveries quicker and more efficient.
Bro. Thanks for the advice, I wanted to get myself a cargo van, but I was kinna worry about it as far as making money, cause I've seen a lot of people had a cargo van they give it up and go for a semi. I used to drive a semi but I had to stop cause of my surgery on the cervical area.
I have a box truck and an overnight route. I'm gonna try local flooring stores in the area of my last stop. Thanks for reminding me, months ago I was looking into that
So much information I already knew about roadie several years back. But the others I did not know about and there's so much information on here thank you it's amazing 🤩
Moving is the best paying but yes you definitely gotta put that muscle and work in ! Moving jobs are noooo joke!. If you not physically fit, dont even try it !
Like the carpet/flooring idea! 'Tis the season for building and renovating homes and apartment complexes. Could work fior other industries like appliance and furniture companies. Thanks so much!
Was looking at the enterprise app . They had a commercial van and box truck rental. What do u think 🤔. To try? I have roadie but only did car size loads. In northern California. Wanted to use my flex app and the dispatch or i sign up for amazon relay maybe.
Keep going 👍 nice job I took one trip to San Francisco they pay 3400$ it was not pad for first OTR experience with frayt and i did 2 local dispatch sun run order in san gose CA better than Chicago only 10 panels for 136$ 40 miles but I returned back to Chicago empty not easy to find loads from there 😂 CCC 👍
I really like what BigCJ is doing with starting his own moving company, that is probably the most effective way to make good money in the cargo van business.
I think it can be a great way to start, albeit while very young..18-25, 30 tops, as a way to instill self-discipline, understand the customer, routine & valuing a hard earned dollar that came via sweat equity. That's where I started out. The issue is when to segway, "the exit plan", because the human body as resilient as it is can & will be unforgiven with time as well, regardless of genetics. Bones, joints, tendons, ligaments & even nerves (carpal tunnel) will deteriorate faster than normal. I'm only 47 & have had 4 hand surgeries, a funked lower back & putting off left knee replacement, yet I'm still a stubborn bull. On & off the job injuries will happen, even a knee sprain can set you back a week or 2 (knee drained of fluid), bursor's cysts, degenerative disk disease in the lower spine, visits to the podiatrist, hand & foot injections & so much more can & will happen to most who so choose this "touch freight, move freight" for too long. Most who exit leave due to injuries & wear & tear..seen it & also personal experience. Best to shift into lighter goods or better yet 99% "no touch" freight where it's loaded for you & unloaded at destination. There's some decent brokers looking for folks to "lease on" doing just that. Weekly mileage of around 2,000 miles & minimum $1,500-3,000 a week if you don't mind being gone 2-3 weeks at a time. No DOT or MC# bullcrap...some basic credentials/certifications most will hook you up with & good to go. In the event you do have to unload some odds & ends they pay you extra. The way I see it, do your "road work" at the gym or at a setup at home & let the Sprinter van or box truck, your biggest investment for your biz, do the heavy burden for you & pay you those dividends. 👍
@@carsandcribsI like your energy & the info, but deleting wasn't cool. It was a real talk comment & not trying to rain on a parade...just trying to keep it realistic. If you're only looking for bruthas to comment, then make it clear & others can go elsewhere. Just be careful what you wish for. Life can be a boomerang if you catch my drift.
Thank you for the game bro. I recently hit a pair of wild hogs out here in Texas, and my car is out of commission. I’ve been contemplating renting a cargo van for $220/week, but wasn’t sure where to start finding gigs for it, aside from Roadie. This is exactly what I needed! Been following your journey for the last few months & you’re killing it with the van. Btw, do you offer any kind of consultations? I’d love to chat with you some more about the business
Ain't going to lie, if you're new to it, 220 is a lot of money for a week. If the market in your area is small than it won't be worth it, but if the market is big and if you're signed up with a company that's doing a lot there than its worth it.
