I quite liked Ben actually. And i was sad when he died. Sure i hated how he traded with the bandits and caused the domino effect that caused the downfall of the motor-in, but he was just a kid looking out for everyone. And if he lives until episode 5 he completed Kenny's and his character arcs beautifully

Ben was so annoying but I just couldn’t bring myself to drop him so I saved him because Ben felt like a more human character because most people would be cowards in a zombie apocalypse

I actually liked Ben as a character. He was just a scared kid and a realistic take on what would happen in the apocalypse. Everyone is like “I’d be rick grimes” or “I’d be Negan”, but realistically, you’d probably be Ben. I felt sorry for Ben because he was trying to do what he thought was best, but failed every time.

James is actually very strong I think, he’s very smart and is shown to be solid in a fight, disarming a delta soldier before AJ shoots Lilly/Lilly killing James from behind.

Kate and James are not weak at all. Duck, Mari, or Elanor (idk how to spell it) should be on here instead.

sarah had potential, i would’ve liked her to survive so she could’ve been with clementine (and other surviving gang) in wellington/howe’s. i think she could’ve been a good survivor if she was taught a bit

James is almost stronger than Clem and Ben killed a few walkers

I decided to save Sarah but when she died no matter what later on made me a little mad

I don’t really understand the hate for Kate all that much. When you just say that she fell in love with her husbands brother, it sounds bad. However in context I don’t blame her for it. From the flashbacks in ANF it’s clear their marriage is not healthy with David being the root problem. Kate and Javi were stuck together for 4-5 years raising Kates children together, and they were essentially a family. Kates relationship with Javi was like the healthy relationship she never had, and when she hadn’t seen David for around 5 years and her last moments with him before they lost each other being very negative, I honestly don’t blame her much. David was not a good guy nor a good husband.

Kate and James being before Ben and Sarah is crazy they shouldn’t even be on here like Kate literally dies trying to save the town by herself and James is VERY strong he just chooses not to kill because he sees the zombies as people still plus he’s amazing at surviving but if he really wanted to kill people he definitely could

Baby AJ, for obvious reasons. Rebecca, her pregnacy affected her, imagine trying to handle all of the pregnacy's sympthoms on a zombie apocalypse, low on medicine, not the cleanest birth available, and all of those were handled in a freezing temperature biome, she was so weakened.

Ben I kinda liked him but when he said he gave the bandits Medicine and then left Clementime to almost die

Well considering James stays behind to fight a whole bunch of zombies so they don't follow us, I wouldn't say he is weak at all, and considering everything he's done in the past (even killing humans) I believe he's capable of defending himself if come to that unlike other characters on the list, like I was expecting to see Duck there too

James, Kate and maybe Tenn aren't that weak when it comes to killing zombies. They might be stupid tho

I agree with you about Sarah. I, too, left her behind at the trailer home. When people choose to save her, they only delay the inevitable, since Sarah ends up dying at the Civil War memorial.

James main strength is the walkers and if someone were tired and he kept to the back while they fought all the zombies he could surprise attack or out maneuvere so I assume this is like if they were alone in a fight ig?

I mean when Clementine and aj were in the cave with James he started killing walkers again but we never saw him fight he just said go ill take care of it

James has questionable ideals but I definitely don’t think he’s weaker than Sarah of all people 😭 He doesn’t wanna kill walkers but he’s beat Clem in hand to hand combat multiple times and even outright said to people with GUNS “you don’t f’ing scare me”, James might be weird but he’s not scared of really anything. I wonder why arvos not on this list..

i love sarah she was just a little girl and her dad was overprotective of her i'm sure she could have been useful if only her dad had let her grow up

James was loykey a good character tho, you just have to pick the right choices for him.

James know how to be around walkers rather than killing them. That makes him strong , cunning. Other people either run away or try fight walkers off while James can easily blend in with the walkers even if its big horde even without smearing. How's that a weakness ? Haha.

Not to write a whole essay here but Sarah is sheltered due to Carlos seeing her as being too naive and fragile due to her being young as well as her having anxiety (as well as being neurodivergent coded). But honestly as much as telltale drops the ball with the rest of her character development i think her story is pretty awesome because certain choices show shes not as fragile as her dad thinks, she also actively shows to learn and adapt when you teach her the basics of using a gun. It's just that the plot didn't let her use those skills, and then gave her two frustrated death scenes. While shes a weak part of the plot she has a lot more to her character that people ignore because of the fact the writers just threw away any good she could have brought. Tenn is similar, hes naive and they try to coddle him, but it shows that he can learn. Hes remorseful and upset at himself if (unintentionally) gets violet/louis killed on the bridge, and if you have AJ promise to teach him, while it doesn't make up for his weaker moments it shows that hes able to adapt when people let him out of his sheltered bubble. Even ben, in all his misgivings and terrible decisions is just a scared teenage boy who ( definitely makes some stupid choices) has a lot of very sincere moments, he trades medicine to the bandits because he saw first hand the brutality and horrors those people could do, he feels incredibly guilty about it despite the fact he was trying to help them. A lot of people miss the fact that these characters are flawed for the better, even if people found it frustrating you can't have everyone be strong, you can't have everyone be immediately perfect in these situations. It's realistic for some people to struggle to adapt, to show that people (even if they're trying to help) can do harm.

Ben was justified though he was just trying to save the group from being killed by Bandits.

Kate isn't that weak imo, she ran to Mari out of pure shock. If you went with her to help clear out Richmond she proves herself to be a good fighter And in one of the endings in season 4, you can convince James to fight a LARGE group of walkers inside of a cave and the creators confirmed he survives that

Ben is over hated he was the most "human" character other than Lee the goat Ben Had lost everything his family his school his teacher his best friend he was vulnerable When the bandits told him that they had his friend and leaving Clem behind is human we all think we'd save her in the moment but if the situation was as fucked as it was when the walkers surrounded them we would all run and don't bullshit and say "I'd save her" you think you would but you would realistically run

I've said this times before, but I don't blame Sarah for how she ended up. Carlos really screwed his daughter over by sheltering her and not teaching her the basics of defending herself. Sarah actually wanted to learn to defend herself by using a gun, it's just a shame the game never actually committed to it and the writers really hated her and glad she died (which puts a whole sour taste in my mouth since Sarah is not only anxious, but very coded to be neurodivergent or at least some sort of other mental disability).

James killed many walkers by himself with two knifes in a dark narrow cave, and survived lol he definitely shouldnt be on this list. 5. Vernon 4. Joyce 3. Sarah 2. Tenn 1. Duck The first two characters arent well known but still very weak

How is this even a list? I can get behind the choices of Ben and James, but Bonnie definitely reserved a spot up there for me. Violet 100% deserved to be on the list. Depending on how you play, I know lots of people could say that Gabe takes Kate's spot because of how fickle he is (being a hormonal teenager with no good example of a father figure). Mike was also a weak character with his morals and such for getting cold feet when a child he was protecting shot another child, but I'm even more surprised that Arvo wasn't a choice. We all knew Sarah was bound to die, so I don't even know what she's doing on the list. Anyways, that's just my hot take. 😅

All Kate cared about was love and “starting a family” during a mf apocalypse. She got on my everlasting nerves. Couldn’t stand her. I was glad there was an ending without her.

I honestly think Duck was a kinda weak character as well. Yeah, he was quite young, but him and Clem were about the same age, and even Clem knew some things. Like example, at the Greene's farm in episode one, Duck couldn't get out of the grasp of one walker, Clem would have gotten it off easier. Another opinion was Larry. He was a coward, and left Lee to die in the Drugstore. Plus he just pissed me off (and everyone here probably agrees with me). In a honest opinion of James though, I don't think he would be weaker than BEN AND SARAH. Yeah, he didn't kill walkers, but that was smore likely of a trauma thing. Plus he didn't leave a child to die unlike Ben.

Respectfully I have to disagree that James is a weak character. James is extremely strong but he chooses peace over violence bc he’s already been through what it does people. Obviously his pacifism wasn’t the most practical, but it’s wasn’t bcz he was weak it was bcz he knew what he would become if he had let untamed violence win. Tbh that guy is overpowered, but holding back, and his pacifism works only bcz he works alone.

James and Kate are awful, but the other three are some of my favorites. Ben was just a teenager who-like most of us would realistically be- is scared. Sarah was a great character who deserved better than being victim to Telltale’s lazy writing; the hate she gets is unjustifiable when she is just a teenager. EDIT: replayed season 4 and I actually really like James now. The apocalypse needs more people like him.
