Kuu Kuu Harajuku has some WEAK anatomy. The idea of a Japanese based cartoon actually has a lot of potential. This was a let down. And the dialog of the newborn cutie my little pony whatever it was called... the dialog sounds like club penguin safe chat.
i'm not the biggest fan of it, watched MLP FIM on Discovery Family and Shortcake was on and i watched Gumball. honestly no offence but i think it's a mehhh!
My description of each show 5: If Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. album came to life. 4. Minnie Mouse + MLP on steroids. 3: Disrespectful to ballet. Well actually dancing in general. 2: Lego Friends + Pound puppies gone wrong. 1: Fairly Odd Parents S9 - S10 if it was 100 times worse.
I was surprised Totally Spies was here. Not 'cause it's great (I used to love it as a kid, but now when I watch it, some episodes are fine, but some are just annoying), but 'cause it's not really forgotten. They still air it a lot, and it had a follow-up series where they'd show up occasionally.
slimeymimey when i was little i used to watch the old Angelina ballerina until it got cancelled then they replaced it with the horror version and this is very stupid of my younger self i LIKED the new one my god what was my 6 year old mind thinking?!?!
THANK YOU. Finally somebody talks about Kuu Kuu Harajuku. I remember watching an episode of it a few years back and it actually AMAZED me with how 1-dimensional the characters were! Just another generic cartoon; glad to see it mentioned here.
The best animated series for women can also be the best animated series for men. It's the attempt to make something stereotypically girly what ruins the final product. The Powerpuff Girls were already awesome for girls and boys, but the 2016 reboot ruined everything with their powerhouse for the female demographic. Now I can remember Rob and Malcolm from Nostalgia Critic saying "well, the charts say".
Arturo Reyes Cortez i‘m not sure if powerpuff girls really aimed for girls. Cartoon violence, blood, unnessecary destruction...compare this to star and the forces of evil and marvelous ladybug and you quickly realize that powerpuff girls is just a boys cartoon in disguise
Kuu Kuu Harajuku is a TV show? I thought it was a clothing brand for eight year olds. I used to always see it on T-shirts and bags and key-chains, and when I'd ask where it was from they'd just shrug and say, "I dunno, some Japanese thing probably. But it's cute."
War In Progress Gwen Stefani had an album called Love. Angel. Music. Baby., then the characters were designed (and named after the album) for her brand. I remember seeing them in stores, Albeit in a much simpler style. But I guess she thought it would be a good idea to have a whole narrative around the characters that were inspired by Japanese fashion like she was.
Howdy! Hope you’re having a pleasant week. If you’ve got your own ideas you’d like to see in future videos, feel free to post them here :) A: Worst Kids Shows B: Creepiest Animated Movies C: Creepiest Disney Glitches D: Best/Worst Sonic Cartoon Episodes
@Aberdeen Harder Yes I think I remember that one! I remember it being quite sketchy and looked hand drawn. Edit: I also remember an episode where Angelina and her other friend were stuck in a hole.
@Aberdeen Harder, I also watched the 2D version of Angelina Ballerina. I’m not a fan, but it actually is faithful to its original book series. I even like the voice cast and episodes of that series.
I would fix this show with better animation, giving the characters development, not being a HiHi Puffy AmiYumi Knockoff and NOT BEING RACIST. No wonder Nickelodeon kicked the show to the dust.
EmmaL TV I was like 3 and 4 when they stoped the original anlglena ballerina and I enjoyed it then they aired the new one when I was 5 that was the first show I ever hated for a good reason
I remember the original one used to air on PBS on Sunday mornings. I thought it was really cute, and I think it was the first time I heard a British accent.
When I was younger, the original Angelina Ballerina was one of my favorite shows, even as a small destructive boy who loved hotweels would sit down and watch it (I grew up with sisters so I ended up liking a lot of girly things). it had wonderful life lessons and the art style was very pleasing with warm colors. On the CDs, there were some ballerina dance lessons my sisters would do. It felt like the characters could have been real people with real life situations and the twirly dancing would be a focus but not solely the main focus.
The original Angelina was one of my favorite childhood cartoons and it did not have fake British accents since it was voiced by Judi Dench and her daughter.
Puppy in my Pocket is actually pretty mediocre, and I consider it a guilty pleasure. Some parts are kinda poor and some parts are amazing, but overall, it’s pretty descent. The later US English dub of that show is actually way better.
I love puppy in the pocket I remember waking up really early to watch it on boomerang and singing along to the intro. The show is definitely a guilty pleasure for me too.
Celeste Irizarry it was a bad reboot. Most reboots ruin decent shows or don't improve anything about the original. That's why I avoided watching MLP:FiM for the first 4 seasons because of previous bad reboots like the Care Bears reboots and Pound Puppies reboot that was also a Hub flop. I only gave the Ponies a chance because of a Brony friend of mine who's cartoon taste I trusted and found that it is the only good reboot in recent years (I have not seen the Max Steel reboot so can't say much). I no longer have Discovery Family (Hub) so I have lost track of the ponies after season 5 but at least I can get away with watching MLP guilt free since I'm the target gender (female) and I have a little girl. My boyfriend on the other hand is a boarder line anti-brony because he says it's okay for girls/women of any age, but he has seen the dark web "fanart" and now HATES the male fanbase.
Sailor Moon, any precure, Princess Comet, Princess Sarah, Kimi no todoke, Koutouro San, Special A, Berserk, Cardcaptors, and best of all Princess Tutu.
That's why I plan to make a better reboot based on Kuu Kuu Harajuku with the girls themselves having actual names and the sayings of Love, Angel, Music and Baby are just their band names.
6:25 Funfact. Tenticalino was made by Mondo TV, who also worked with North Korea's animation department to make a few cartons. One of them being Squirrel and Hedgehog.
I actually thought it was more liked, even though I still have yet to properly watch it. It looks cool, and it just seems like something that would have had more popularity to me.
Totally spies, IN HONORABLE MENTION?! even if its not in the top, I'm still triggered it was mentioned because I really enjoyed it in my childhood (after its your opinion and I respect it)
It got recommended for the list alot. But I actually found it reasonable quality and the writing/dialogue was okay. I called it honourable mentions for that reason rather than dishonourable mentions
"Define fun." What I expected: "F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me! N is for anywhere and anytime at all down here in the deep blue sea!" What I got: "What do you think I am, a dictionary?" ._.
And if you need another reason to hate Pixel Pinkie, their distributor Blue Rocket has also attempted to silence RU-vid videos critical of the show on numerous occasions.
*Day is ending* Me: eh, today is okay with the exception of my Spanish teacher being funny *this is on my recommendations* Me: I TAKE IT BACK, TODAY WAS GREAT! The list is great and it's PhantomStrider, it's great regardless EDIT: I also agree with Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps because it basically ruined the original Angelina that I loved as a 5-8 year old
ShadowDuelist15 yeah it was bad,at least go me now when I was really young i just watched whatever was on and it entertained me and Angelina Ballerina:The Next Steps used to be a favorite Shi of mine,I am gal my ways have changed
Ik it's his opinion but can I at least say mine..........? Yes? Okie! :3 Angelina Ballerina isn't the worst cartoon ( at least in my opinion) Angelina encourages some little girls to be confident in doing ballet, I think the reason why all the characters r mice is cuz it's inspired by the nutcracker, yes it is kind of wired to some viewers but still, I might hate the color pink but Angelina is still decent show to watch for kids
The problem isnt the animation itself to me.. To me the paroblem are.. Stereotypical dumbo jocks. The ugly baby thats..just there foe no reason. Then you got Angela... who.. yeah is confident but... idk her fantasies are dark for kids to see. Then theres the stereotypical nerd frend Stereotypical dumb frend Stereotypical annoying crush Stereotypical prep girl...who actually half the time is better then the main character even if she is a bit spoiled. Why? Cuz she does do a lot of stuff on her own. Sure money talks but shes not dumb and can form a devent plan. Also being liked by your teacher is a bad thing in this show. Best message for kids everybody. Then obviously her 2 dumbo frends who do everything for her. The teacher is weird... she does prefer Nanet over the mc and wouldnt you too? If the mc is against you and the rich girl was with you...and tbh i fhink their relationship is a bit deeper then just teacher and student idk. You dont invite strangers over to go shoping and other places. (So... unlikeable mc) If you want an evilish character done right watch Cramp twins. Both are assholes in their own right and its evening out the playing field. Angela is seen as a psycho with her constant inner thoughts and weird plans to humiliate hercopponent kinda cruely at times. Nanette is spoiled sure but she usually only does minor things to annoy angela. So....would you be frends with a slightly spoiled and self absorbed french girl? Or a girl that insults pretty much everyone who doesnt comform to her own ways or is dumber then her. "Johny Abady my dim witted best frend" yea..best feend indeed. Her plans are half assed most of the time anyways xd
Zizou One weird question? Why is MLP was on Boomerang? Believe me, I live in some part of Asian country and now I was doomed the first time. Should'nt be on Hubs/Discovery Family?
For some reason, whenever I think of Angelina Ballerina, I get only three immediate feelings. Fear. Comfort. And the welling question: Was it even real? Most of the things I remember, from TV shows to books from when I was under 6, don't actually exist when I look them up. Such as an episode of Barney where they all go trick or treating, and BJ gets an orange. I can't find any trace of that episode. I even remember pulling a large closet over and onto myself when I was only three and being nearly crushed, but according to everyone else, it never happened. And even the most famous scene in Snow White: The poison apple. Everyone else says deadly nightshade [Thanks, Film Theory] was smushed up and put into the apple.. But I remember it being dipped in a deadly concoction. I was always on edge whenever I saw something for Angelina Ballerina, too. Like the feeling you get when you've forgotten a childhood fear, but your subconscious is reminded of the feeling when you see something associated with it, again. I do remember something about a fight, crying, mud.. It's all such a blurr. The warmth simply comes from me missing the simple days before.. The absolute mess that was 2017. Back when my biggest concern was what the weather was going to be like so I could plan accordingly for each day. [Don't ask. I was.. Weird.] I miss being a small child with no worries nor responsibility. Just me, my dog, television, hand drawn movies, my imagination, and my toys. It's saddening to think I'll never truly get that back.. But I'll always have the memories.
Dude! I know that Barney episode! I still have it on a DVD somewhere, it was part of a Halloween special with a bunch of other shows, and I specifically remember Angelina Ballerina being one of them. Hell, that might even be the episode you're thinking of. Maybe I should dig out that DVD and put it online.
We need more Dark Strider. No one can misspell "shortckae" as evil as him. Though I recommend dishonourable mentions to feed us more of the worst listed cartoons next time. *thumbs up*
#3 What did they do to my Angelina?! 😭😭😭 This hurts. Nevermind the animation changes, twirling was not the only dance move she had, she didn't always dance, and she was a lot more interesting than this.
My first reactions: #5: Oh no, I thought I would forget that forever! AAAAAAAAA! #4: How did I never see that? I had some of the dolls. #3: I actually liked that. Now, I realized that the original was better. #2: Oh boy... #1: What the frick is that?! Mentions: 1: I have the DVD 2: I liked that, actually. Pretty good quality compared to the other ones on the list.
MagicalAlchemist17 Kuu Kuh Harajuku was just the same statement as Strider's. I honestly saying that this show is more of an anti-dictatorship propaganda for Communism. It's just rare for a girls show to portray an anti-Communism propaganda. If you want to watch some propaganda cartoons, watch *Der Fuhrer's Face* (Donald Duck), *Commando Daffy* (Looney Tunes), or any WW2 shorts.
Suggestion for a possible "Top 5 Worst Forgotten Boys Cartoons": Voltron Force (2011). Don't get me wrong, I love this show, but it's purely for nostalgia reasons, and I love the fandom. While Defenders of the Universe (1984) was entertaining, The Third Dimension (2000) was so bad it's good, and Legendary Defender (2016) is the best one yet, Force is often forgotten, and for good reason. The characters were flat, it used way too much "hip" language that made me cringe, and the plot made absolutely no sense. It tried to be a sequel and a reboot at the same time, which led to a lot of plot holes and continuity errors. I suggest giving it a watch, just to see how stupid it is. (And for Pidge. He gets almost no good screentime but I would die for him)
Oh boy, i remember LOVING Puppy in my Pocket when i was a prosciutto bambino! Looking back at it it isn't as good as i remember, but i still get a knack from looking back at it because it's so nostalgic for me. It's understandable that you hate it though.
I remember that newborn my little pony cartoon now...I thought I managed to block it out of my mind forever, HOW DARE YOU STRIDER?! Jk I love your videos
i cant believe Hasbro remade the Cuties, even before the current generation of MLP the Cuties had a terrible reputation. It looks like those "dark side of youtube kids" shows. I know it was made in 2009 when flash was still kind of new, but i remember better animated shows on Newground at the time, and those were made by one guy in his basement on a cheap laptop.
When I first heard about MLP: FIM and that it had become a major hit among teen and adult males, I still had the horror of G3/G3.5 fresh in my mind and couldn't believe that anything MLP related had brought in that kind of an audience. Over time, though, as I learned more about FIM, I began to let my defenses down, ultimately leading up to me watching it for the first time in February of 2014. A month afterwards, I'd watched the entire first 3 seasons as well as the first Equestria Girls movie and I've never looked back since. Brony represent. P.S. I'm also pretty impressed that, throughout the entire time that the show had been out up until I watched it for the first time, the biggest and only spoiler that I ever got was that Twilight became an Alicorn Princess. I didn't know about any villains or basic plot points beforehand, therefore getting to witness it with fresh eyes. P.P.S. Hey Josh, do you know if you're ever going to do a video voicing your thoughts on the Equestria Girls movies? I'd really be interested to hear any opinions you might have.
Madison Ezman Before Friendship is Magic was born there are some previous MLP shows back in the 20th century (hence I don't watched their shows as a kid). Believe me, I found the two shows look decent than I imagined. The current MLP that we know today was made me wanted to force to watch one episode with my eyes and ears open Orange Clockwork style.
I saw it once ( but after I saw the characters I turned it off) when I was on Netflix and was looking for mlp but I say Newborn mlp so watched it for about 3 seconds the turned off
I have to agree with you on kuu kuu harajuku. I felt like that show was just trash. None of the girls made an impact on the world, but instead just sung stupid songs. They weren't even inspiring. I think children deserve better.
I think u should do a top ten worst action cartoon But amazing video, keep up the good work, and the #1 worst of girl cartoon is a nightmare to sit through
Woah wait a min how on earth did kuu kuu harajuki get moved to nick jr that was made for younger audience like 5 and 6 year olds their not gonna understand what their doing to Japan and everyone around them the show is just a copy&paste and how are kids gonna enjoy that kind of crap? Unlike Sonic Boom at lest it has something recognizable like Sonic the Hedgehog and kids know that if they see their favorite characters from a video game or comic or movie then their gonna watch the show note im not arguing its just my opinion k?
I think I speak on behalf to a lot of people when I say Totally Spies is not a bad cartoon when you're a kid,but as an adult, when you sit down and analyse it,it's kinda bad.Maybe that's just my opinion, but I found some things that I didn't like about it: -the girls are like, super smart;they're geniuses,at 15 years old -they are kinda sexualized considering they're supposed to be 15 -a lot of cliches:they live in a luxury house, city and they can afford to but anything, yet they are still in highschool -and also their moms are MILFS
Puppy in my pocket is a guilty pleasure of mine. The lip syncing in indescribable, the animation is piss poor, the story is nothing special, the voice acting is terrible. That is what makes this show funny to me, it's so horrible, it cracks me up. Love your work phantom strider and I hope you keep making videos.
The original Angelina Ballerina was a great series. Watching the series on Sprout, I was surprised at how much depth each character had, and how mature the plots could actually get.
I completely agree. Even if Angelina used to act like Caillou rather often, she actually learned the moral she was given at the end, something that was rarely, if ever, attempted with Caillou. The art style was also really detailed for a show aimed at such a young audience, and there were some really good episodes where Angelina didn't act like Caillou at all (Angelina & Anya, The Ballerina Rag Doll, and Angelina's Valentine, for instance). ...And then things went crumbling down when The Next Steps took its place. The hand-drawn art that stayed true to the books was replaced by barebone & effortless CGI that made Fanboy & Chum-Chum look like a DreamWorks production, and don't get me started on the characters that were removed. Rumor has it that a third Angelina Ballerina series is being developed by Mattel & 9 Story Media Group, which was slated for a premiere for last year, which came & gone without any further information. Neither company has stated that it was cancelled, so it's probably been delayed to this year to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the original book. This probably won't be the case given Mattel's Bob the Builder reboot & the current direction of Thomas & Friends, as well as 9 Story making Arthur's 16th-19th seasons as well as that horrendous Magic School Bus reboot, but I'm hoping this series fixes EVERYTHING The Next Steps got wrong, goes back to the original setting & format, and maybe add some character development for Angelina.
Strawberry shortcake is the worst because it turns a great, charming story about friendship, honesty, and the value of hard work, into a cutesy ug fest where the main characters care more about fashion and 'breaking a pogo stick record'. (Literally the only two episodes I remember). But then again, the 2003 series has a special place in my heart, so I might be being too harsh on the 2010 one.
