WORST Pokemon Dual Types? Top 5 Worst/Weakest Pokemon Dual Types or Typings is A video I've wanted to do for a while now! Pokemon Dual Types have been in the Pokemon games ever since Pokemon Red and Blue. And I've always enjoyed seeing different Pokemon Type combinations added to the games. But which Pokemon Dual typing is the Worst/Weakest? Well I, Eryizo, am going to do my best to answer that question. Aurorus isn't hindered by terrible typing, it's hindered by terrible stats Rock/Ice is very much a "glass cannon" type combo, like Weavile's Dark Ice, but Weavile has the right stats for a glass cannon, fast and powerful with low defenses, meanwhile Aurorus's lowest stat is speed and highest stat is HP. It just doesn't work

This is one of the reasons why I think the types that each have 4+ weaknesses (Grass, Rock, and Ice) need some sort of different calculation. Like, x1.5 instead of x2 for those weaknesses specifically.

@@MrAuthor3DS No, they're clearly intended to have many weaknesses, for fire and ice it's counteracted by the high offensive power of the type, while for grass it's counteracted by their access and immunity to powder moves and leech seed. Maybe a better way of doing it would be to have the double weaknesses of pokemon with more than one double weakness to be a 3x multiplier instead of 4x

Aurous got screwed over so hard... Not just typing, but it doesn't get Power Gem as mentioned in the video, and most egregiously of all, it doesn't get Aurora Veil. Yes, the Pokemon literally based on AURORAS, doesn't get freaking AURORA VEIL.

I mean, there are plenty of other Pokemon get Aurora Veil, but literally only 1 of them, being Alolan Ninetails, can use it well, so I don't think this would help much.

Dude, priest. Aurous is easily one of my favorite gen 6 pokemon (possibly my favorite ice type), and Gamefreak just keep beating her down at every turn. I can't begin to tell you how salty I was I found out she doesn't FUCKING...AURORA VEIL, it was like a slap in the face. And it's not like having that move is suddenly gonna make her broken, it's just the principle.

And for the record I actually like her typing (even though it sucks) it makes sense, is unique, and it suits her. Gamefreak just needs to stop screwing the ice type over and give it some fucking resistances already instead of all these stupid gimmicks.

It gets Snow Warning, so yes, it actually WOULD help. As it stands now Aurorus is nearly always paired with A-Sandslash since the latter actually does get Aurora Veil instead of just needing to use Aurorus itself as a stand-alone screen setter like it easily could be.

Everything about Alolan Rattata/Raticate is bad. Easily the worst Alola Form. And this is in a world where Alolan Dugtrio exists. That's how you know it's bad. Also, why in the name of Helix can Aurorus not learn Power Gem? It has gems all along the sides of its body! WTF, Game Freak?!

For the same reason Doduo and Dodrio could learn fly, even though their Pokedex entries and the TV show specifically said they couldn't fly. Or for the same reason that Gyarados is a flying type that does not learn a single flying type move (I swear someone realized its attack was too devastating late in development and didn't have time for any other way to balance it).

The one he mentioned in the comments was the first one, with Dark/Normal not being resistant to the Fire type. This one is different, with Ice/Rock also not being resistant to Fire. There are two mistakes. Don't worry though. He acknowledged and gave a heart to this comment.

Personally, I believe Rock and Ground as a dual type is also very weak in comparison towards the other; this is because the dual type is 4 times weak to water and grass. Grass, doesn’t sound like a big deal, not much on the meta except maybe Ferrothorn but water is both huge on the meta and most water type Pokémon are special attackers, the dual type just suffers from being at least ok. Rock and Ground can hit like a truck with massive physical attacking moves, but they are slow and poor in special defense, it’s impossible to even make a move or heck, do anything with that dual type.

honorable mention goes to rock steel, being quad weak to fighting and ground, both of which are **extremely** popular offensive types. they may cover up a few of each others weaknesses (for example, grass and fire) but those two big crippling 4x weaknesses are huge. Just look at (non-mega) aggron, who has great stats but is barely ever used because he just dies to earthquake or drain punch. Water weakness doesn't help the typing either.

Fun Fact: In Gen 1, Bug-types were weak to Poison-type attacks, making Parasect and Paras the only Pokemon to ever have 3 quad-weaknesses. A terrible combo indeed.

I don't really understand that. I mean, I don't really see a problem with Stone Edge and Power Gem as moves.

Stone Edge is only 80% accurate. It only deals 100 damage, but it has high-critical ratio. However, some find it not worth. Power Gem is goof, but only with Starmie, for example, since not alot of Rock Type Pokémon are special attackers, like Abdallah said.

Dark/Normal is a pretty good combination to mess with Ghost types. And reminder that Alolan Raticate along with Alolan Muk are the best counters against Mega Alakazam in LPGE. Also, you forgot to mention that Rock/Ice has weakness to Stealth Rock aswell as it benefits from both Sandstorm and Hail instead of getting harmed by them.

Alolan Muk is Dark/Poison, though, which is an incredible defensive typing (And Alolan Muk having that typing makes it so that there's no reason to use Drapion ever), owing to the fact that it only has one weakness: Ground.

@@Hyperneosonic97 In LGPE, Alolan Muk is the best defensive check and a counter once it shrugs a hit from Mega-Alakazam, while Alolan Raticate is a quick offensive counter due to being the only Pokémon with STAB Sucker Punch in LGPE.

Pressure+fire resist+ground immunity makes Moltres really good on stall to drain the PP of threats like heatran, Moltres can also run a scary offensive set because of z hurricane and fire blast along with very respectable special attack

The rock type isn’t very bad now because of sandstorm stealth rock and stone edge and protect a great set of moves that most Rock Pokémon can have. A rock Pokémon could hold its own against many Pokémon. Thanks for the great content Eryzio! Can you please do a best generation of Pokémon only based on types and shinys not on the story. Thx

Geez. I mean these are all bad on your list, for sure...but you left out Bug/Flying and Ground/Rock. Bug/Flying is weak to 5 types, with Fire/Flying/Electric being popular types included, is 4x weak to stealth rocks, and these pokemon are typically very low stats wise. Also there's FOURTEEN that have that typing so it's common. As for Ground/Rock...6 weaknesses and two of them are quad. And that list includes Water/Fighting/Steel, all very common. with it being 4x weak to Water which is just a killer. 9 pokes have this, so again, not that rare.

@@groudonvert7286 Celebi is kind of irrelevant to whether Grass/Psychic is good. Celebi might be good, but that isn't necessarily due to the typing itself. As an example, Ho-Oh's typing isn't very good, I mean, I'd rather not be 4x weak to Rock and 2x weak to Water and Electric, but it still is absolutely terrifying in Ubers in spite of that. A Pokemon can be good in spite of a bad typing.

@@V-Jes It is. I was just talking about the offensive typing, since the original comment mentioned only that. Until Fairy was introduced, Ghost and Dark were effective against the same stuff. Defensively, it was insane. Offensively, it was pretty bad. That being said, I value the defensive typing more, so I would agree that Dark/Ghost is good.

That Aurorus critique is SO true. I've trained one up into the 80's in Ultra Moon and it still regularly gets one-shotted by Pokemon 20 levels lower. The biggest issue is that as powerful as it is offensively (mine knows Stone Edge, Ancient Power, Freeze-Dry, and Giga Impact w/ Refrigerate), it's completely pointless because its speed is terrible so it never goes first, and its defense is terrible so it gets knocked out in 2 hits at most. It's just forever sitting in my party until I get it to level 100. Then never again. If they're going to keep it that slow, they need to increase its defense to match its rock typing, not the brittleness of ice.
