I bought a Husq 254F special edition 4 wks ago. I live on a 5.5 acre horse property with no horses, pastures were 2ft tall, not cut all summer. Took me 28 hours to cut the whole place, had to make 2 passes for the pastures. Whole place looks like a lawn. Mine has the 23 hp Kawasaki. Very powerful. Love that machine. Reply
54" badboy mowing 6 acres, 4 years now and zero issue. Are others better? Well that's a matter of opinion, but I paid less than any other brand out there at 3k after tax. Better/thicker gauge metal, I'm in Florida and the sand just blows holes in mower decks, but this badboy deck shows no signs of deterioration.
@@jerryrupe1696 The significant difference in fabricated decks is the depth & the shute size....a mil or two thicker or lighter really doesn't matter much. You are fortunate that your mower is holding up so well !!! I mow 5 acres,.. owned zero turns since inception, & it isn't so much the years, but the hrs......seems "something" will need repair around 400hrs.............continued good luck with your Bad Boy.
I bought my Mustang 50 to replace my "almost: ru-vid.comUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend worn out John Deere L120 (48" Cut - 20 HP Briggs). First off - I can now mow my almost 3 acres in about 1/2 the time it took with my other mower... I have had the Mustang 50 for almost 2 years now... Maintenance is easy - the Kohler Motor is "out in the open" and everything, except for the oil filter, is VERY easy to get to... To change the oil filter I have learned to fold the seat forward - no problem now... The deck is SUPER easy to drop...

Ariens is a nice mower, but I think the MZ Magnum is slightly better for the price, since it has the 7 gauge deck, plus the deck dial system. Can't go wrong with ether one though!

Under 5k and commercial don't really go in the same sentence. But the cheapest mower I would start with would be a bad boy maverick HD. But that's about an 8k mower.
Husqvarna has a very bad reputation. Their equipment constantly breaks down and needs repairs. Just look up the reviews and also, I have personal experience with their products. If you try to contact them, you will never get to talk to a human. I have a Husqvarna P-ZT5224 it spends more time in the shop than we do mowing with it. I need a good strong commercial 54" or 60" mower for ten plus acres weekly use. Any suggestions are well appreciated.
