That was so fun. It’s rather amazing that those four guys had the on screen chemistry they did. Then for Mickey and Davy to become more competent musicians, then they all fight for the ability to record and tour their own music and it was good?! LEGEND
It's not listed here but I've used "I am standing up!" before. I was on a break at work and it was nearly over. The person I was in the break room told me to "stand up and let's go back to work." I said, without missing a beat, "I am standing up "
He did do a decent Mexican one. Can't judge that. But what about the totem-pole grab, the barbershop HELLO, jump-scares, pass it down, finger gun, Disneyland joke, Long-haired Weirdos, choosing fingers and I AM standing up?
I just put my 6 favorites here. If you look at my channel, I have a more comprehensive compilation video for running gags, and I have a jump scare one in the process (there were way too many instances to include in the gag video)
thank,s for this love the monkees then, now and forever .they were broth toghter to make the world shine with peace and love.and still are .watch them every sat on fetv 9-11.RIP davy and peter .bless the monkees and there family,s fear not tommow god already there.
I saw the front cover of this old timer Rock and roll news magazine front cover. The Rock and roll magazine title is called 'Go Set.' The front cover article title says this; 'The Fight's on, the Beatles vs the Monkees.'
Not to get too "blue", but there's something just a bit nasty about Davy saying "Micky, you have a go with the broom" in reference to Della the maid. Especially seeing as that episode was shortly after returning from their wild and crazy Summer '67 tour. In any case, I love your work!
Well, Michael made some of the same mistakes. But fortunately he didn't have to pay as high a price as John did for them, though Mike didn't have quite the career he might have wanted. It's Robert Michael Nesmith, by the way.
I don't get the "Texas Prairie Chicken" one. I've seen it in the later season two episodes and it felt like a desperate attempt to regain the already low ratings at the time.
No. That was literally a campaign that Mike Nesmith was involved in that aimed to prevent the extinction of three types of Texas prairie chickens. They were on the endangered list and Mike has long had an interest in animals and is an ASPCA member (you should see the list of dogs he's owned). Sadly since that time, one species of Texas prairie chicken has gone extinct. So it's an amusing gag but it had a serious point.
The Texas Prarie Chicken or Attwater's prairie chicken was and is still endangered. Michael being from Texas (he was actually born 3 blocks from where I live) helped start the campaign to save this animal related to grouse. The many species of TPC are still in low numbers. Their habitat in southeast Texas is prone to hurricanes and flooding also. Hope this helps.
