Yes and no but it’s not life threatening as I unload trucks and restock the sales floor at a retail store so it’s different for me. I mostly have to juggle taking boxes off of the line for different areas of the store simultaneously and switching out full flats or Uboats for those areas for empty ones when possible and/or helping my coworkers if they get slammed and I’m not. It’s a crazy (mostly) fun kind of chaos that keeps me on my feet and puts my puzzle solving skills into good use stacking boxes!

I think it becomes a "second instinct". The kind parents, cops, any + all first responders get. I recall one show where, just before closing, one of them said [prob Harrison] "I got a bad feeling, something's not right". Sure enough, 3 seconds later he looked to his left + three people were in the rip, going down for the last time. Yes, they were in the area marked off... "Do Not Swim Here Due to the Dangers of Rip Tides". It's frustrating to watch on TV, so it must be maddening for the Lifeguards to watch 'idiots' think they're tougher than the waves. Maybe more, serious info about the deadlines of the Rip should be listed in Australia's Tourism Books.

If there is clear water with waves crashing either side, that's the rip. Many ppl don't know what a rip looks like and walk right into it, because the water appears calmer you should also watch the waves for about 10 mins before entering, waves come in set, watch the sets and get an idea of the conditions before you go in

The backpacker was merely looking out for the little girl, as most responsible adults would when a small child is near the ocean or a pool.- especially with no apparent guardian is near by. The mother wasn't close enough to her child, obviously . Kudos to the backpacker in this case!

While her heart was in a good place, she should have taken the baby to the life guard tower and let them know that she found a baby wandering around unattended.
@sophiecat14
@sophiecat14 Год назад
The baby wasn’t abducted. The lady saved the baby as the baby followed her father & sister as they went into the water for a swim. If she hadn’t seen the baby wander off, the little girl may have ended up in the water without her family knowing it. I felt so bad for the girl who was only trying to help & then was accused of kidnapping a baby.😔 Edit: why would a young backpacker want a baby in the first place? She’s there to party, not become a mom. Logic, people.
@maritzasylvia
@maritzasylvia Год назад
So true maybe in this case, but you get lots of people posing as friendly girls / woman who are traffickers…. One never knows with strangers…. And the heat doesn’t help , plus she has to look out for her other kiddos. This was just a blessing…

Were you there ? The mother said the girl was playing with the baby and then they were gone. There are mad people in the world, we will never know what actually happened.
@sophiecat14
@sophiecat14 Год назад
I don’t think the 19 year old backpacker wanted to abduct a little, albeit precious, beautiful, 12-15 month old baby girl to take along with her on her backpacking adventures. Not to mention the cost it takes to care for a baby. It just *does not* make sense!! Yes they were playing at first until the baby started wandering away. What should she have done~ just let her go on, in the crowd & go BACK & tell the mother? Possibly LOSING her in the crowd~ or in the water? The poor girl didn’t even want to touch her because she wasn’t her baby. Of course there are LOTS of child abductors, predators, mad people. She obviously wasn’t one of them & it broke her heart(& mine for her) being accused as such when she just did what she thought was safest for the baby. She was merely trying to stop anything bad happening to the baby. Protecting her. That’s all. I have children and I would have thanked her profusely & even invited her for a meal close by as a thank you or some cash to help fund her trip. Maybe I’m naïve ~ but in this particular case, no, I don’t think so. ETA~ no, I wasn’t there, *BUT* I wish I had been! ☀️🌊👙🏖
@sophiecat14
@sophiecat14 Год назад
@@maritzasylvia I totally agree that “nice, friendly” women are used in horrific acts like abduction, human trafficking, etc… but, yes, in this one case I didn’t once think this young woman was involved in anything nefarious because of what she was doing there~ having a fun, exciting, young adult trip of a lifetime. 😊 You’re the only person who noted the mom was distracted/busy with other kids… but yes, that was true. And, yes, it was, the young lady was, a blessing! 😊

Me and my nephew were in a wave pool once and it started before we noticed and we were too dead in, I was only maybe 15 and he was 9 or something. He was pushing me under and I had to hold my breath and keep him above, when I managed to catch my breath I had to tell him that I was goin to throw him towards the wall so I could get to it myself. I did so and he managed to swim to it so I got myself back up. It’s life or death in them situations and people just panic

Having just discovered that NONE of these amazing lifeguards are paid a single dime for "Bondi Rescue", I think they should produce their own show. Perhaps a Bondi version of "Baywatch" (though I hated Baywatch) but you get the idea. A version with Real lifeguards and real lives . Its rather shocking that they have done 7 seasons of this show without payment aside from their regular lifeguard paychecks of around $50,000 per year,

The riptide in my country is chaotic! And kids should learn to swim at the age of 5 years old! And kids under 16 years old should never go further than standing in the sea with their belly button above the water! I saved too many people and dogs! Please stay safe! Exactly! The lady wa s just looking out for her child while she was busy doing some other stuff. Like yes it is scary when your child has disappeared but you should have been looking out for her.if she saw a lady running off with her child she could have run after her. However, to this lady her valuables were way more important. So she tries to worry the lifeguards! PATHETIC!

@@mirelalucescu5069How dare she alert the lifeguards after a rando has run off with her child... Don't you dare call a mother in distress "pathetic". Don't touch other people's children.

I don't think there's too much mystery as to why I have a HEALTHY fear of going into the ocean lol. Love to swim in other bodies of water. Love to see the ocean, walk the beach, be on a boat......but it's a hard no from me about going into salt water. The rips terrify me. These lifeguards are incredibly vigilant and do a fabulous job keeping their heads in stress. Ocean-goers are lucky to have them!

The life guards should sound an alarm at 7 30 to get the people out of the water and there should be signs up that the lifeguards finish at 7 30 and anyone swimming does so at there own risk
@GayDisaster16
@GayDisaster16 Год назад
In theory thats a good idea. But you'd have new people every day not knowing what the alarm ment and starting to panic. Or people who dont have a watch on them thinking the shark alarm is that alarm. It would be to dangerous
