FOGO is a family business. We live and breathe BBQ and Fire. From making the best charcoal available to bringing it to your backyard and helping you to put amazing food on the table, we are on this journey together. We are family.
We source the various species of Inga wood that make up our special aromatic blend of lump charcoal from El Salvador, where Inga trees are used specifically as shade trees for growing coffee plants. These shade trees are constantly pruned and occasionally removed to maintain the proper shade. We use the wood from these pruned limbs or removed trees to make FOGO Lump Charcoal.

Thanks for helping me remember, just tightened the nuts of my xl after a year. Some were pretty loose. This was not even 5 minutes work and closing/opening the lid now feels like brand new. You dont have one, but I found my reggulator needs maintainace too every once and a while.

Glad it helped! Yes, the easiest way to do those is to throw it in the fire when you're done cooking and then re season it.

Good tips, Cap! I would add taking balled up foil and cleaning the inside and throat of the dome. I see a lot of buildup there on mine.

I finally got to finish watching this. Great tips - especially the foil ball and it does work! I might be an over achiever but occasionally I clean the grate - the stainless steel one - in the sink with running water, a scrubby, and some Dawn.
@FOGOcharcoal
@FOGOcharcoal 3 месяца назад
There is nothing wrong with that at all. People forget that they wash their pots and pans every time they use them, why not the grates? Some people I know use oven cleaner and they come out like brand new.

The only issue I could Come up with when calibrating your thermometer in the boiling water, is that the temp doesn’t stop rising once the water boils. So the water could have actually been at 225 degrees but it was adjusted back 10 degrees because it was thought to have been 212 degrees. So I would suggest using and instant read thermometer to temp the water before calibrating the analog thermometer. And then double check after with the instant read thermometer afterward.
@FOGOcharcoal
@FOGOcharcoal 2 месяца назад
It should not heat up past the boiling point unless you put the water under pressure. At the boiling point, it is now evaporating water into a gas. while boiling, it should not go past 212°.

Good tips, thanks. Water boils at 100°C (and freezes at 0°C - that's the point of the scale 😁) so it's probably easier to see 100°C on your thermometer than 212°F when you do the calibration.
