Maybe in 5-8 the batteries has become better. Now the bikes seems to slow and the range is to low also. Today im ridning an Husqvarna 701 with a top speed of around 170km/h and a range of 250 km. When its time to refill I do it in 2 min.
If the Denzel could hit speeds of 60-65mph and give those ranges, I would buy one right now. The only issue I have is that its just under the speeds I would be comfortable with for commuting around.
@@Electric-Rideables indeed. I live about 10 minutes from a major city and something like the Denzel would be perfect. The roads around me are 45-55mph speed limits but I would still like the 60-65 just in case I have to exit jump on the highway. Electric bike tech is growing and I am really excited to see what the future holds
Since the Denzel uses a chain drive you can swap one or likely both gears, the motor drive gear and the wheel itself. Just drop the number of teeth on the wheels gear to increase the speed. However it will reduce the level of torque able to be put down as a result. So if you want you can go faster(to an extent) but will be slower to get to the new top end speeds.
I like that the denzal puts the brakes in the proper place. I almost wrecked a friend's scooter because by instinct I went to pull in the clutch when it was the front brake. I also I've seen a review of an electric motorcycle by a motorcyclist who rode it on a dirt track and basically did the same thing I did.
Hello, I see many ELECTRIC vehicles that are advertised and many MOTORCYCLES, many ELECTRIC CARS, ELECTRIC BICYCLES, (BUT) I see everything but I do not see anything for sale, I do not see ANYTHING in the Dealers where are they?, where are they sold How do I get one?
Imagine spending 5-6k on an e bike that can be easily outperformed by a $100 scooter from marketplace that gets 100+mpg idk its a sad world we live in.
The Denzel would probably be the best choice if you can buy it without battery and build your own. Adding some supercapacitors to actually benefit from regen and higher amperage cells could really make that bike sing!
You can buy a Sondors, but it will never get delivered. They started last week, and they delivered about a dozen so far. 3,000 to 4,000 in front of ya. Get in line. Oh, that battery doesn't slide out either.
I own the Brekr for a year now and can tell ya that it has been an absolute pleasure. 50 km range gets me everywhere I need to go (even though you can buy a second battery) and i've ridden 9000 km thus far 😁 Here in the Netherlands 50 km is plenty for most occations but i could definitelly see that being different in the US
I love my kollter es1 pro But its top speed is 58 mph I have had it in chain drive and now have belt drive and it makes no difference its range on B roads in Devon doing about 30 to 40 mph is about 38 miles Around town you get a lot more and for around town it's really good fun
Great video, Thanks! How much $ is the Texas Grunt? Zero point energy is the only way elec vehicles will win, ie, IF the ICC ever releases that technology... The elec grid at this time can't handle summer air conditioning. What happens when everyone starts charging EV's?
Not saying you are wrong about the optimism. But hub motors are known for energy savings, whether a weed whacker, construction tool, or motorcycle a motor located at the “action” increases run time at a surprising rate. But it usually means weight distribution is off or uncomfortable
Pretty great video, useful information. The sound track tho. Brother, a new tune for every bike shown will allow a much more enjoyable video experience. Hearing the same lil music rift makes the video seem like mass produced. Their is plenty of resources for finding good soundtracks that will not make your audience neurotic. Cheers, great production.
it's expensive but not half as it used to be my battery alone cost over £4000 to output amps needed I had to go for a custom build to get precormance I was after my bikes got £7600 on it already and its still not done and I have to use wall plug to charge but the money ive saved on two stroke parts jugs pistons rings and petrol etc the ebikes do start paying for themselves in no time they are quite reasonable cause I still have my two strokes and I pretty much throw money at those things
You can buy a very nice used motorcycle for $3000 and 1,000 gallons of gas that will get you 30,000-40,000 miles for the same amount and never worry about range or charging for what are essentially glorified mopeds that would be uncomfortable after a few dozen miles.
Good point. I don't think they mean the same thing as the ignition system on a combustion engine though. The ignition on any EV is more like a security/theft device.
These look cool but they're overpriced. For the speed and range it's not worth it. I got my first e-bike, a foldable one and I like it a lot. Gets 40 miles in lvl 1 which I never use and about 23-25 miles on max throttle, goes about 25-28 mph. I use it to go to work and also take it to the beach. I got foldable one because I can fit 2 in my Lexus sedan and take them to the beach. E-bikes are great because you can use the streets or sidewalks, gives you options. These e-motorcycles don't give you the mobility of an e-bike, but they also don't give you the speed or range of a motorcycle. Seems like cool toys for people with money to burn.. The things I would love to improve are Range (I bought a 2nd battery) and power, better acceleration. For the $1,400+$500 for 2nd battery I paid I can't complain. Just using it for work commute, it will pay itself off in 8 months. This was my first e-bike but I already know it won't be my last.
Why can't the Volcon Grunt be street legal? Does it just need mirrors, or do the authorities need to inspect and approve the tires it uses? Is there anything else?
There is one very simple feature that all of these manufacturers need to start considering. A optional charging station that allows you to simply ride the bike into it as easily as you would a bicycle into a bike rack. Or even a center stand type of system where you can easily push the center Stand Down and engage the charger and turn the bike 180° around for a quick exit of your garage or shed. The reason is: whether it's the grunt or a cafe style or a Enduro style bike, the main selling point in convenience of these bikes is to be able to quickly jump on and go for a quick run to the store or commute to work etc. It will never convince motorcycle enthusiasts that it will replace a good petroleum motorcycle. It is very attractive for a bike that is always ready to quickly jump on and make a quick run here or there. It simply cannot compete with gasoline Motors currently. But to Market it as extremely easy and convenient and ready at all times would be a huge selling point in my opinion.
I would purchase one of these as primary form of transport and use solar to charge it. Might be a specific niche but thought it might be interesting to give my perspective.
@@batiannolte it would take an awful long time to charge this thing with solar unless of course you had massive solar panels dedicated just for its purpose.
How many of these; 1) have a distribution and service network in the USA (since the channel is based in the USA), and 2) are street legal to be registered in the USA?
I think the Ubco can be shipped and has small distribution in the US. The Volcon Grunt is in the US. The Sondors is in the US. The Kollter ES1 is available in the US.
@@jerrysanders9101 thanks for the comment ,I have owned Honda Yamaha Harley many other brands l loved them all thought a electric cafe racer style would be something new to try out ,about Honda being recycled , think they may last forever and no need to recycle just fix the worn out parts and keep on riding.
The UBCO 2x2 bike is cool it has front and rear wheel drive. But, it isn't worth the extra drive since the price reflects that. And, it wasn't mentioned but the only max out at 50kph (31mph). Other thing too is they take four plus hours to full charge back up. On top of all of that, I've seen them being built and I'd stay the hell away from them. Especially if they are being assembled in the USA. They don't build them to spec. They charge up faulty batteries that have a bad cell in that 14s8p configuration and call it good after charging the bad bank of cells which you can't fix. And, their torque specifications they don't follow nor do they bother to check the torques at all during their final QC process nor do they do a proper road test before being shipped out. They've been sending bikes out like this for the past two and a half years where there are defects that get passed through like there is nothing wrong. Interesting bikes, but very questionable on their business practices and trustworthiness for following assembly and testing procedures. I'd honestly look at any of the other bikes on this list before even recommending or mentioning an UBCO if at all.
I'd even mentioned to them what happens when they have a defective bike come back to them because of something they missed. They just laughed at me and said "we've never had a bike come back." Yet.... You haven't had a bike come back yet. Or worse case, you haven't had someone get killed using your product because you neglected to fully check the bike over before it got sent out to a customer.
These are sone great motorcycles, but they have more speed and range that I need. I hope something is made with a top speed of 17 mph and a 13 mile range.
For that kind of money you can buy a nice motorcycle and ride all day, in comfort, on a tank of gas. Gotta get those ranges per charge much higher and top speeds higher. Most of us looking at these, I would bet, are in the country, not the city. A year ago, I was driving 40 miles one way, on the highway to work... 70 mph most of the way. These bikes wouldn't cut it and there's much better options for toys than these as well.
I love the lame "closed captions" - When the speaker said the cycle had "power to spare" the cc said it had "power despair." Hahaha! Does the translation system for closed captions know something we don't? Hmmm...
The Sondors looks best but ...mannnnnnn ... I could go for a 30 min ride ... and then use the other 30 min to get back home. And then wait 2-4 hours to ride again. We need nuclear quantum fusion motorbikes! NOW!
Man. If that UBCO could do 10-20mph faster top speed I'd buy it right now. I want something just like that with some extra space for cargo and luggage that can get about
If this is the best they have to offer under 7k, it's gonna be a very long time before electric motorcycles can match their gas powered equivalent. These motorcycles are severly underpowered.
Any 28mph bike is a dangerous bike to be on the road with faster car. I stopped riding my Hyperscrambler 2 on main roads even though it does 30mph on average and cost $3k. That price/performance difference is just not convincing yet.
SOME nice E Bikes , what surprises me is Why to mitigate Carbon just why we don't have ammonia engines which are 0 Carbon only nitrogen & water biproduct a Hybrid system in EV vehicles would solve the distance probs & ammonia can be bought once there's some more Manufacturing of it for less than 25 cents per liter Mark my words Ammonia Engine Hybrids Are the Future Someone should mention this to World Congress & Elon Musk
Too bad the sondors is actually heavier than advertised, the fork is not adjustable, and the battery is "removable" by using 2 different tools... Also 0-100 km/h is actually closer to 12" and not 5.6" as initially claimed
You're better of buying a Sur-Ron X and cut the green wire. You don't need a license to ride it, its great for commuting and you'll have a fun off-road bike.
