I really appreciate the effort of the editing, but it made it feel a little like watching an advert! If this gets a good response overall, then carry on, as I won't stop watching. Thanks for writing healthy feedback Helen, that's totally okay! I personally find favourites videos can be so boring and dull to watch, and I wanted to mix it up a little and try something new! Aware that's not for everyone, and that's totally okay too! It's hard to make a video packed full of key information, where you LOVE each product without people thinking you're being paid, or hitting that ad like territory. So knew that this would be a love or hate it approach and respect your thoughts fully! xx

+My Pale Skin I really hope you see this, cause I just found your channel, and I love it, and I think I love you too (um, too soon?) due to not just your fantastic tutorials and dedication to helping people with skin conditions feel better about themselves using make-up, BUT. The 'You are disgusting' video hit me hard, in such a deep place, I really wish that I'd had access to RU-vid when I was younger, as the damage done during high school can never be undone, only overcome. Not a fan of the editing. I think it's a bit overdone Em but it could definitely work if you use it less. Maybe when reviewing each foundation you could just list the key characteristics and have the words slide in/pop up on screen beside you while describing it? Just a suggestion though xx

The It cosmetics CC cream is my holy grail! Perfect amount of coverage, smells amazing and great benefits. It does oxidize on me but luckily I can just go one shade lighter and it is a perfect match.

bad news: excessive use of text. just use it for emphasis, not like every other sentence. good news: great video topic and content.

that is, instead of using text to say word-for-word what you're verbally saying, just use it for bullet points. you say "it costs three US dollars, there's forty five mil, and its full coverage" show "$3" "45ml" "full coverage"

The word slides should only be used for emphasis, so like for the price and amount would be appropriate, but shouldn't be for a full sentence. Makes the viewer not sure what to focus on and even anxiety inducing on some! But it's great that you're experimenting with editing styles! Practice makes perfect!

I work in marketing as a digital media artist, frequently using After Effects and animating typography. I completely understand what kind of effect you were going for with the text, and instead of showing one word at a time, I'm going to suggest using a feature called "range selector". You can make it so that words pop up in a text object one at a time. It gives the same impact without forcing your audience to try to read one word at a time. Otherwise, great video. I'm as pale as a vampire and finding light foundations is always a struggle.

Have you tried any of the By Terry foundations? Their lightest foundation color (Fair Beige - Although beige doesn’t seem like the right word for it) was “my skin but better”. I love the “sheer expert” foundation, but it really is sheer coverage and if you need to build up your coverage here and there, it’s really too expensive for that to make sense. So, one of the medium to full coverage options might be a better choice if you need the ability to build coverage. Anyway, I am very porcelain with cool undertones and I’ve found it difficult to find foundations that are both light enough and have the right undertones. They have a few good fair options, but I’ve found that Fair Beige works perfectly for me and it’s so good that I have to keep using it, even with the high price tag.

I have no idea if you have tried the Clinique Even Better Glow, but I was pretty blown away by it. With a tiny bit of powder in my oily areas, it really surprised me tbh. I like the DW nude but this blew it away in coverage and radiance and oil control. My other favourite is Catrice HD mixed with the DW nude!!!

Really liked the content of this video. I thought the editing was clever but a little too much for me (I know you have heard this before though!). Question: When you use a dewy radiant foundation, does it lose those characteristics when you put a powder on top? Or is there a powder that could allow that foundation to keep its dewy radiant look? Thanks!

Jen P. Mitts hiya! not Em, but I know what you mean. I love dewy foundations and I find that a light dusting of powder doesn’t really change the effect as long as you apply with a light hand. Kat Von D’s loose powder, Bourjois’ pressed powder , Hourglass dimlight powder and Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is what I usually use. I find that I can apply more with these 4 and not be matte , just keeps makeup in place :) Also I hear great things about Glossier’s Wonder but haven’t tried that yet :)

I also find that patting powder in with a damp beauty blender sets the foundation but keeps it dewy.

I have quite pale skin as well and I always struggle to find a foundation in drugstores that doesn't look orange on my face... so I was wondering wether the maybeline foundations have an orange touch to them?

I have such a hard time finding decent makeup that's Cruelty-Free 🙁 the only brand I've been able to go through for cruelty-free makeup has been Urban Decay and not all of their makeup is C.F. It's been a real struggle for me to try to find a decent foundation that is C.F. and works as full coverage for my acne, I am currently using the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation but it doesn't always have the coverage I need for all day wear 🙁🙁

I know that this took a lot of time to edit, it really shows. And I don't so much mind the quick edits and text, but that added with the color changes/ dark to light flashes, it really hurt my head. Maybe next time less drastic color changes on the text screens? Just some constructive criticism you don't have to listen, but I could see this happening to other light sensitive migraine sufferers. Still love you videos and your energy in this video is infectious.

I have pale skin that’s really dry in some parts and then oily and I get loads of spots in other parts. I can never find the right foundation and I only have two drugstores that I can go to. Right now I actually have money so I’m trying to find the right one 😂
