Im from Ballybofey county Donegal and i haven't visited most of these places, its true when they say you dont appreciate the beauty on your own doorstep until you move away from it!
It’s beautiful there. If you’re interested in more places in Donegal keep an eye on this channel. Hoping to produce a new (much better) video about the county 💚
Wherever you land in Donegal you’ll find beautiful views and empty beaches. The weather is always a gamble, though, so you’ll have to bear that in mind.
I spent most of September in Donegal, mainly around Ardara, making a film anout Kilclooney Dolmen, it's staggeringly beautiful but it was the people that really made it special for me, friendliest place I've ever been to... so refreshing to meet that in the current climate, coming from an increasingly anti-social England.
Been travelling to Ireland (mostly Donegal) for more than 30 years for at least once a year. SouthWest-Donegal is by far my favourite region and I stopped counting my hikes to the top of Slieve League. Its a must see! I do prefer the pilgrims path, nowadays signposted and that way is also avoiding the tourist masses to the viewing platform. A nice spot you haven't mentioned: Án Port! Hiking paradise along the stunning coastline. It's near Glencolumbkille the coast upwards. And of course, when it comes to beaches, there are so many beautiful beaches in Donegal, but my favourite one is Silver Strand in Malin Beg, also near Glencolumbkille. When I was in the region in 2022 I noticed film crews and later found out, that Liam Neeson was there that time and now I can't wait to see this film being released in the second half of 2023: Search for - In the Land of Saints and Sinners!
Love all those places, great choices as I’m from amazing Donegal! Great video! Loved Muckross Head beside Slieve League and the Secret Waterfall near Killybegs. Loved climbing Muckish too, up the Miner’s track.
Apart from Murder Hole beach we've been to all those places. At Fanad Lighthouse a couple were having a bit of rumpy pumpy, probably thought they wouldn't be disturbed! We'd seen them at it earlier at Portsalon, think they were doing a tour, lol. On the drive up to Slieve League Mrs had her head between her knees, I'm not allowed back. Doagh famine village is worth a visit, it's just like my granny's house. My favourite places, Carrickfinn and Crohy Head. Great filmimg, just got to love Donegal.
No better place than the scenic sights of Donegal for a bit of “rumpy bumpy” I suppose 😂 Thanks for sharing - will try to get to Carrickfinn & Crohy Head in the summer ☀️
good to see some not so regular places. good job. I am currently working on Donegal and I plan to see most of it if i can including some of the islands. its going to take time but at least I know that i will see more of Donegal than most people.
Thanks for your comment 😊 We tried our best to include some hidden gems but it is hard to look past the beauty of the likes of Errigal and Slieve League! Enjoy your time in Donegal ☘️
@@SomethingToRemember Errigal is definitely on my cards. Going to do all the wild Atlantic way points. 37 in total. I have 9 done so far. There so much to see here.
Thank you! 😊 Rathmullan is very nice! It’s by the sea but doesn’t have cliffs, just a nice beach to walk along… Lovely people down there with some great bars & restaurants 👍🏻
Thanks for posting, the video is very informative we’re heading to Ireland in April! We’re doing Northern Ireland, but I’m hoping get to the cliffs of Moher, if time allows.
Carndonagh ... where my paternal great-great grandfather, a police constable, was from. Also the birthplace of St. Columba of Iona, my Scottish ancestor.
You need to do a video on the beaches of Donegal as they are quite stunning and generally deserted. 5 fingers beach for sunset, in nice weather, is amazing.
I’m a Donegal man myself and I’ve been to most places on your list apart from slieve league and murder hole beach so I’ll have to give those places a visit, great video 👍
i live in clonmany the water fall has changed alot over the year but it was always the best place to go on a nice walk and next time your there u should go to rocks town bay
Thank you! I’m not actually sure how you would access a lot of these places without a car to be honest … Maybe some sort of tour company? And I’d aim for the summer rather than November… The weather can be quite depressing in November in Donegal 🤣
Wow, great video! Are they strict with drones in Ireland? I can't wait to give my drone some exercise! I live in Atlanta and we're in Donegal for 2 days. I only wish we had more time there. Thanks for the suggestions!
Thank you 💚 Ireland is not strict with drones at all. We love flying it here as there is so much spectacular scenery especially at the coasts 😍 Enjoy!!!
Fantastic! Thank you so much! Your video footage is incredible, and I'm loving all your destination choices more than others I've seen on-line. You guys are awesome!
I am sorry to bother you with a specific question but I have one about Donegal. I will be spending 4 nights there in August, driving , and was thinking about not booking accomodation and just follow the flow. But it's probably unwise, right ? I mean, will everything be fully booked ? It is August. Thank you so much
Hi! If you’re planning on booking last minute accommodation we find it much better to get Air B&Bs rather than hotels but that’s a general rule we follow, not just in Donegal 😄 You are right though, it could be busy & if the weather is good (which you are hoping for) the accommodation might already be snapped up 🫣
@@SomethingToRemember I thank you....I lived and worked in your wonderful country (in Tullamore and Kilbegan ,meat factory) for many years ,and it was an honor for me...I keep and will keep the most wonderful memories in my heart of Ireland and its beautiful and friendly people forever.....!!!!😍❤❤❤
My grandparents, and family all come from Donegal, never managed to go there , though did spend a week in southwest .Sadly they had to leave back in the day for work some went to America , Grandad and Nan came to Edinburgh, went to America depression there , returned to Edinburgh , beautiful country
The Irish shores are the site of the fulfillment of Daniel's biblical prophecy about the onset of British hegemony. On the rocks of these shores the Spanish flotilla against Britain was destroyed absolutely without any fight.
Thank you 😊 We are in the middle of creating the updated version now and will post it in a few weeks 😊 We filmed it from the end of August to the middle of September 2022
This area looks mainly for endless wheat plantations, since the layer on the rocky base looks too thin for planting forests. Although in reality these hills may indeed have the memory of trees..
Last Fall, got to visit 6 of the UK Ulster counties and ROI County Donegal with a lot of time in the countryside. Culture reminds me so much of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania where people wave and insist you come in and have some tea or coffee and a snack at the very least.
Thank you for your great video, which stands out above all for the outstanding drone shots of the impressive landscapes. Unfortunately, we missed some of it in April. However, we were on our 10-day tour of Ireland in a group and saw things in the Donegal area that you wouldn't easily see as a solo traveler, such as training with border collies. In addition to the tour in Donegal Bay, I particularly enjoyed the evening in a music pub because I love Irish folklore (e.g. the songs of the Dubliners) very much. That's why I used some of it in my first video.
Very misleading. They forgot or left out on purpose. Jacks Shop, The Shanty, Moville Tree, shrove, strove, Clomany Festival. And not even a mention of Carn.
You are not being respectful of your girlfriend who is the real star of these videos. For example, you made fun of her forgetting English. That sounds racist. You are socially awkward while she shines. I feel bad for her, and sense she can do better. Finally, lift some weights and eat more.
Funny enough, Glenveagh castle... although it looks like a castle (by hollywood standards) is not really a castle and was built around 1870. Doe castle, although is not that impressive, it actually is authentic from the 15th century.
