The bottle openers included in the bottom of Galil rifles should have been included. Not to mention the ball and chains in the rear of Merkava turrets to protect against anti tank weapons.
@adamadler5411
@adamadler5411 2 года назад
Nowadays the chains are just aesthetic, the sound they make and all that is awesome but its got much better active and reactive defenses. The "wind jacket" was new and kind of secret when I was in active duty but that was 6 years ago, today I'm sure they've got better stuff. The bottle opener is just one feature you had the bipod that folded flush and doubled as wire cutters.

As an Israeli I can tell you more tactics that were in the military like in the Six Day War we advanced with our army into Egypt and because it is a very difficult desert route the Egyptians thought it would take us a long time to get but one idea halfway changed everything ... when one of the commanders just released air from the wheels of Vehicles and we were able to travel on the sand at the fastest speed. Part of the surprise that awaited Egypt

During Operation "Defensive Shield"("חומת מגן"), in 2002, a new tactic of progress was used within a built and hostile area. The method is to break holes in the walls and progress through the houses themselves.This way the enemy does not know which direction you are coming from and thus you have the surprise factor.

The British were using it in world war 2 fighting in buildings.
@СергейВампир-л6в

Some of these examples I already knew about, such as the seltzer bottles, and some I didn't, such as the Llamas🤣🤣! What I don't understand is why you included Krav Maga as a weird tactic. It is a very effective fighting style and it is certainly not uncommon for a country's military to develop and officially adopt their own self defense style. Many countries do this. 🇺🇲🇮🇱🇺🇲

Right. In fact, in army it's not krav maga. There is 3 styles: army, bodyguard and police, and civilians. We use kapap lotar קרב פנים אל פנים we use body, weapons and must know some weak point of body etc etc.,
@MottyGlix
@MottyGlix 2 года назад
For general information, "kapap" is the acronym for the Hebrew phrase in the above answer, "𝘬𝘳𝘢𝘷 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘮-𝘦𝘭-𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘮", "face-to-face combat". I think "lotar" stands for "𝘭𝘰𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘪 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘳", "terror fighters". In Hebrew the adjective follows the noun.

'Not thinking outside the box' - also, armies order what is offered by 'private' companies - it's not that an army develops their own weaponry (maybe in conjunction, usually with (ex) military input and trials). One of the few products I can think of (as a civilian) are those armored trucks, protecting against IEDs - at first they used the battle-proven South African 'Casspir', that was quickly adopted by US truck-manufacturers.

I actually didnt know about the llamas and its surprising. But I think one of the most uniqe Israeli tactics that you missed is what the Idf had done in Jenin and Nablus in Homat Magen operation. After a wave of terror attacks Israel has decided to get inside this cities and clear them from armory that used against her. The Palestinians saw it coming so they trapped all the streets with mines and bombs, and also built stationery for their shooters. To prevent casualties, the Idf decided to use an unseen before tactic that corespondes with the built of the city. Beacause arabic building built in a very dense, wall to wall structure. The troops decided not to march on the Street and advanced from a building to building by open holes in the walls. Mostly with hummers and also with explosives. This operation was an absoloute success.

In basic training we had a saying, every private is a Cheif of Staff. The meaning being, that when push comes to shove, and as the situation requires, every IDF solder can take the initiative and do what's neccassery to go on with the mission.

I don't think you can honestly claim Tank Viper is Israeli. The Brits developed Giant Viper in the 50's (see Wikipedia) and have subsequently put Python into service as a replacement (same concept better performance). I'm sure the Israelis could have bought it or developed a copy of their own, but I wouldn't say they invented the idea.

I can think of few more: The gun that shoots around corners. The anti tank defense system - 'windguard' The -Spike NLOS which allows to track and adjust the missile after being launched. The tunnel robots with camera and can carry explosives - used against Hamas and Hezbollah The anti tunnel barrier around Gaza strip And of course "what? I can't hear you sarg, oh well time to IMRPROV" :)

as a Israeli citizen, for my best information the Llamas are not true and are a joke, many others things mentioned here are from 40 years ago. and the things that should appear here are: 1. Trophy military active protection system 2. Iron Dome

More countries should use weapons that dont do a whole lotta damage but they do a whole lotta noise and scare. Less bloodshed that way and those weapons are typically cheaper

Its also a good way for units to identify themselves, Hamas and Hezbollah are known to wear IDF uniforms including the Mitznefet, units can take them off or put them on accordingly also it protects from the sun more than some brush. And overkill is the point so you don't get shot in the face but youd know better than that from your years of war experience in the levant right?

Skunk …I’m from a Jewish family, and I live in Dundee in Scotland..I had to make my own Skunk, several years ago… to deter a man who left his sports car blocking our homes … I developed it over several weeks… a mixture of urine, soft human poo, seeds, compost, sugar, more urine, nectar, spices, and some bits and pieces …. The results…incredible… words failed …but Skunk 1.1 was an immediate success… He called it a biological weapon… the smell and thin covering was perfect… applied with a big plastic watering can …. The offending car vanished, within hours, and never returned … the drunk owner then tried to bother me…but I told him he was a coward … and he deserved it …. Bless the poor lad ….
