I live here in St. Thomas is so strange seeing my home through tourists eyes but we are glad you guys come...We love having you all...Come visit us soon👋 #VITillIDie #IrmaMariaVISTRONG
COKI BEACH: I live on St Thomas, and I frequent Coki at least 3 or 4 times a week. Steer clear of the left half of the beach (if you're looking out at the water, your left side), and I say this for several reasons: the swimming, snorkeling and water clarity are far better on the right half. Also, the servers and businesses on the left half of the beach are rude, greedy, pushy, and an embarrassment to the entire place. They will scream and argue directly in front of guests and curse at you if you choose not to do business with them. Eat at Simply Delicious for the best Caribbean food on the beach (and no drama)!
DO NOT FEED THE FISH!! The become humanized and stop doing what they need to do: eat the algae off the coral. IN ADDITION, the UNEATEN Dog Biscuits add nitrogen to the water causing algae blooms!! You want the fish to gather around? Pick up sand and let it slip through your hands. The fish think it is food and gather around. Just DON'T FEED THE FISH!!🤩💖❤🇻🇮🇻🇮
TBH most aren’t algae eating fish. They’re SM damsels and yellow tail snapper. There are some parrots but I assure you after they bite the biscuit, they go right over and munch on the algae. I’m super tree hugger but after watching these fish and their behavior for over 6 years (I live here and tour guide) I am leaning towards not condemning this. I do want to warn against feeding bread. Please don’t use that.
@@adrianpoe4416 These islands are my HOME! I grew up on Coki point lahng time. We should not feed the fist at tall since they become humanized. Pick up sand and run it through your finger, all kinda fish gon run to yoh!
Respect - but I do work there. Not a chance they will stop feeding the fish. Like I said I see the parrots still doing their job on the rocks every day. We wanna talk about what shouldn’t happen is people climbing over the endangered elkhorn corals on the rock. If you feel it’s not good to feed them, then don’t. 👍
Hey, what happened to the island food. I was born and raised there so you must try the local foods in st.thomas, next time ask someone about crazy cow. Plus, our carnival is in Apirl!!
We will for sure do that next time! We were only there for the day (in August) but we did visit Pasta GoGo in the morning before we started our tour. And if we are there in April, we will have to check out the Carnival!
I went to st Thomas over this past summer and it was beautiful. If you ever get the chance also take a quick boat ride over to St. John’s and go to honeymoon beach. It has fantastic snorkeling as well
my family and i just got back from our carnival breeze cruise yesterday and our ship stopped in st thomas!! it was stunning!! we took a taxi to magens bay and saw sea turtles right there at the beach! it was the best stop of the trip and we loved it!! merry christmas 🎄
Awesome video Griff. You guys continue to go above and beyond when it comes to information on cruising and travel. Loyal viewer here and I hope to have a fan base like you guys one day and we embark on our vlogging adventure. Small now, but you guys have inspired us to provide great, consistent content to help others love cruising as much as us. Keep it up.
I love this, but will say you missed out on all historical sites, paradise point tramway which is literally right off the ship. Not getting any local food is sad as well... Virgin Islands Pâtés are to die for or our Johnny cakes. But all said and done I thank you for visiting my home!
Question how do you book the tour how long is the tour and do they provide snorkelling equipment how much per person I have a total of three can they accommodate Thank you nice video BLESSED BELOVED 💞💞
Hi Guys! Just found your channel and am loving this! We actually just booked a Disney Cruise to St. Thomas in January 2020 and it will be our first time to St. Thomas and we can't wait! This video was super helpful, so thanks for sharing!
Been there 3 times by plane ,i wanna go back, went with an ex girlfriend ,time to go back with someone new ,beautiful place ,love it ,sugar bay resorts i recommend
This sounds like fun but also so much to do in less than 1 day! I'm curious about how much time you actually had on each beach & how long the full tour was.
so I was look at this tour online and it doesn't have all this stuff listed.... How do you get to do so much? Do you plan with them in advance... My mom and I are going in March and I really want to make the most of the Day! PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Is it better to take excursions through the cruise for St.Thomas or explore by ourselves? Does the excursion give you enough time to spend at the beach or limited time?
@Griff&Alyssa We are going there in November 2020 and looking to book this. Can you give me info on how long the entire tour was and how long you spent doing each individual thing? Also the website doesn’t have package prices? Can you let the subscribers know the price ranges? Thank you!!!
Hi My name is Marcela and i live in Brazil. I'm going to St thomas in january with my family. what is ur suggestions. The most beautiful beach (to go with 2 kids). do u think i need rent a car? i'd like visit 2 or 3 beaches. tks
I am very sad that my first time in Saint Thomas very sad I didn’t do a thing but get dropped off a few stops away from the ship and do the little fleamarket had no clue next time I have a list now thanks Griff
Don’t feed the fish gather sand instead and let it slip through your hand they will gather anyways. The fish will be too humanized and will rely on the dog treats and not the algae found on the corals
This is my first time seeing this video and it looks like it is 3 years old. I loved it! You need to do more videos like this. I love St. Thomas and especially Megan's Bay. However, I didn't know about tour guide, Sunfari you used. I hope he is still available. Thank you for sharing!
Or you could just get a rental car. It's real cheap on the island. Its also cheaper to take the rental car on the ferry to st John than it is to pay per individual to ride the ferry. You also get the freedom to go wherever you want.
Hey Denise!!! Thanks for watching. So the tour was guided by locals of St. Thomas. Each excursion was given to us by a local resident of St. Thomas. Also we listed the names of the local businesses and links to their website if you decide to support them! Feel free to reach out to any of them if you need more info!
I've been living and visiting over 15 years. Headed there after pilot season. I love to learn more. But I think I've been All over the Island a Million Times. Shout to the Green House. Rip in peace Bum and Bambie. My friends on Garden Street. Mona at Sky High by the Grave yard. The Real St. Thomas.
Driving! Nobody mentions the difficulty and danger of driving a car in St. Thomas. Wrong side of the road, poorly maintained roads, STEEP HILLS, SHARP corners, reckless natives, shear drops offs. Driving around is the most dangerous part of St Thomas visit. Food out sucks. Views, water and beaches are the highlight. Pick a serene place to stay away from tourists for peace and quiet like in the defunct golf course on north side. Shop at Cost U Less for food.
Grear aerial footage Griff. That water is amazing. I am saving this video to show my hubby. We are looking to book a 2020 cruise. Might be a contender.
Griff & Alyssa any issues with flying? No problems with local authorities? Taking my Mavic Pro and will be there in few days. Wanted to know what to watch out for.
Love St. Thomas....My husband and I were married on Magen's Bay in 2011...63 of us took Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas to get there lol Next time you're there....and make another stop at Magen's Bay...make sure you have a slice of that pizza at the snack shop...and wash it down with a Bushwacker!!
@@GriffandAlyssa Nice!!! We love cruising...Love watching your channel.Get lots of great ideas on things to do in port ..I set sail on my 21st out of Boston on Oct.25th 2019! 14 nights 15 days aboard NCL Gem...been on this ship a few times...can't wait!
We were just in St. Thomas last October, but I wish I'd seen this before we booked any excursions! I guess I have a good reason to visit St. Thomas again! Very helpful!
Was this trip recent? Since hurricane Irma? If so how does the island look and is the recovery still going on? We will be there in October 2019. Great vid.
barrys864 yes, we were there in August 2018. It’s recovering well! There were a few spots that were still closed off (Limetree Beach area), but for the most part, everything was up and running and as beautiful as we remembered!
Thanks a lot! After watching your Freedom of the Seas travel vlog, I visited Coki beach in St. Thomas, USVI. I went on a 7 nights cruise starting December 1st through Celebrity Summit. It was my 5th cruise, but 2nd time with Celebrity cruises. The beach was amazing, I'm happy to have taken you guys recommendation. Happy holidays and have a blessed 2019.
So wish I would have remembered the tour guide name when we were in St. Thomas a few weeks ago. We ended up just going to Magens Bay and shopping downtown. We did see a few turtles and a ton of pelicans though!
I am sorry but this was lousy, other than pointing out a mountain that everyone goes to when they go to St Thomas and a nice beach none of your "things to do" had anything to do with St Thomas. You can do those exact same watersports on any single Waterfront ... Next time I mentioned something about the nature Reserves (there is a place where you can swim with sea turtles)
We will for sure check that out next time. This was everything we got to experience in the one day we were on the island. Next time we are in St. Thomas, we will do some more exploring. Thanks for your feedback. :)
