That clip at 1:27 is such a great example of how good the camerawork always is in Supercars. Maintains focus and tracks the incident incredibly well for something that was all over in less than a couple of seconds in real life.

Named my first daughter Adelaide after being there for the racing. You Aussies know how to race,so much better than NASCAR.

Courtney sideways through turn 8 in the HRT car to hold on to the win is one of the best bits of driving I've ever seen to this day

It's one of my favourite moments of all time! I think from memory it was like 7 or 8kms quicker than anyone else over the whole weekend, which is just massively quicker thru any one corner let alone turn 8 it's a car killer.

I'm happy too. The idea that the Adelaide 500 would cease was stupid. Still a great racetrack after 20 odd years of supercars racing there. Common sense has prevailed.

@@BlairSauer well said, I was gutted when they announced Adelaide had sold off the equipment, I thought that was the nail in the coffin for the 500. I think this is the best way the send off Holden, it's not about wins and loses its just fitting to have the final round there where so many commodore's rolled off the sssembly line out to the Australian masses, give the red loin a proper send off at home.

I was at the chicane 2014 when bright rolled, felt like an earthquake in the grandstand as he flipped over, you could feel the mass tumbling over the sound of all the screaming engines.

As an American, Adelaide is probably my favorite street circuit, way ahead of anything we've ever done here in the States. Demanding and technical but still allows for some crazy good racing. Does it still have that fast sweeping right hander (turn 6? turn 8?) that always caused so much havoc if people didn't get the line precisely right?

Bloody brilliant. I had no idea that Lowndes won the very first Adelaide 500. Was that the year before he went to ford? Or was it two years before? Hope to see more supercars races in Adelaide for years to come.

2 years before Lowndes left HRT Lowndes was Disqualified from the Saturday race which meant he started dead last

I was at the Clipsal 500 that year as a fire marshall on fire 3 when this crash happened we were initially radioed to respond but got stopped because the extinguisher crew on that corner reported he got out ok
