And maybe one more tip (or warning): you will be walking a lot, so make sure you are comfortable walking 10 to 15 km per day. Alternatively, take the tram (and beware of pick-pockets)
Absolutely! Walking is the best way to get around and see the city. While I'm sure there are pickpockets, I've never seen one or heard about anyone I've met that it's happened to on public transportation in Amsterdam. Always use common sense with these things, though. Like don't keep your phone or wallet in and easy spot to snatch!
Coming to Amsterdam for the first time in 14 years in 3 weeks. Very excited! Great tips. Will definitely do things outside of Amsterdam as well this time round. Also planning to do the parkrun in Amsterdamse Bos. Have you been there yet?
That's awesome! I'm excited for you 🤗 Here's my Amsterdam playlist that you can scroll through and see if anything looks interesting for your trip: ru-vid.com/group/PLrNbogOIGSGh-qqsXbu8-4ugitELtwIHQ And here's my not-Amsterdam Netherlands playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLrNbogOIGSGiBskb9Ty3jKObuMcGGtcN_ Amsterdsamse Bos is lovely, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
These are great tips! I know Rick Steves does a great job warning against some of the biggest mistakes such as walking in the bike lane. One mistake I would add is only spending a day in Amsterdam whenever possible. I was only able to visit Amsterdam for a day, and I felt like I barely got my feet wet with exploring the city! Awesome video!
I will be visiting Amsterdam this coming June and have been really enjoying your videos. I'm interested in seeing the food tour video for the Albert Cuyp Market. Could you tell me where to find that video please? Thank you!
That's so exciting! I hope you have the best time! Here's the Albert Cuyp video and I'd you go tot my playlists, you'll find a while Amsterdam guide playlist 😁 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Amzuv0v-KgU.html Also, there so more food options than this like drop (licorice), tacos, dumplings, and so much more. Go hungry!
We will be visiting the week of Kingsday. We have an early flight out the day after Kingsday. I'm worried about the airport. Do you think Shiphol will be crowded? We didn't know about Kingsday. But we are looking forward to Kingsday.
I really don't know as I've never flown on King's Day...thought I might this year 😂. I suggest going over to Twitter and Tweeting them. There are usually pretty responsive.
There's much to do that I need to make a new video! But here's one vlog: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VYhT_w0IAt8.html and one guide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8HpJfQ9TaWY.html These are only the tip of the iceberg 😊
