It's not weakness, the character of Lois is meant to make him, well a man. One who still cares about the world, still a son of ma and pa Kent. Still willing to take into consideration people and view them as equals in the value to exist. Lois becomes that tie, the keeps superman in the realm of mortals vs a God. Injustice superman as an example is only evil if viewed from the position of an equal of some kind. However, veiwed from the position as say an old testament God from Christianity, he is only asking dor examples of obedience because He knows best. Just a thought.

@@jeremycollett1349 That’s just ridiculous. A real man is a MAN before he meets a woman. So if Lois dies or is killed, he stops being a MAN?? He loses all the values that he was taught before he even met her? The kids grew him into the man he was before he met Lois. He doesn’t lose all of that because she’s dead! He’s already a fully grounded individual before he even comes to metropolis. The Kents shaped him. Smallville shaped his values. It’s his character that attracted Lois in the first place. He doesn’t lose it just because she’s gone. This is just a stupid excuse to have “evil Superman”.

@@cellmate1 I think you missed the point, he is not a Man because he meets a Woman. He interacts with the people of Earth as a Man because of Lois. That's what keeps him as Superman. I'm glad you brought up any version of Smallville series or otherwise because those are anchoring moments in his life. The Kents are anchoring moments in his life. But has people grow and change and life changes with them the anchors change too, Ma and Pa Kent will and do die, what's to keep him honest in a visceral and emotional moment. Memory? Perhaps. A living family that is there with you and needs and depends on you? Definitely.

I always felt that the real reason for Lois being his main love interest was for the drama that comes with it, it's similar to myths of gods and mortals getting together, in one of Superman's well known speeches he expressed how he feels like he lives in a world made of cardboard and that he always has to be careful or else things or people would be destroyed, well most of his abilities can in some way be "turned off" his strength is constant, he has to be in total control or risk hurting someone meaning he couldn't give in to his feelings or emotions when it comes to love, being with Lois he would need to always be careful when being intimate in any way never giving in to his passions, if you've ever lo ed someone there most likely were times where you give in to your feelings and maybe go a little wild, Superman can never really be himself with Lois.

In the 2001 Armageddon Crossover event, Adventures of Superman Annual 3 presented an alternate future in which Lois Lane died when she was pregnant with Clark's baby. Unfortunately, Maxima's claim that no Earth woman could bear a child of Krypton turned out to be correct and Lois died when the baby kicked. During this alternate future, Maxima was unwillingly engaged to the cyborg D'Cine, and she had another chance to win Superman's love. She tried to act 'nice' to him as a ploy to marry him, but in the process, she truly fell in love with him. Eventually Superman returned her affections, and the two left the Earth with Maxima commenting what fine children they would have.

I remember Obsession. That girl was SCARY! lol DC Comics' most accurate rendition of a woman, who is a complete sociopath, who also can't move past her "obsession" with the Man of Steel. Every single story she was involved in was an interesting one. She was entertaining as hell, just for how completely batshit insane she truly was, underneath her cool exterior. Maxima was my favorite, back in the day. I started reading Superman comics when I was a young teenager, right around the time that Maxima was a pretty big deal (and Superman and Lois were not married yet, at this time). I remember routinely FANTASIZING about Superman and Maxima finally getting together, and having super-babies with each other. It also helps that Maxima, back in those days, was one of the few female superheroes who was actually "shredded," in terms of visible musculature. That turned my little perverted mind on, something fierce. Which probably also explains why she was my favorite girl.

Superman and Wonder Woman's relationship was my favorite coming out of the New 52. I wish they had kept that relationship. Never cared for Lois in any episode or movie! A woman that can fully understand what you are going through and support you in every way is better than someone that constantly needs saving. I wish there was more of Superwoman and Ultraman. You'd think they'd be perfect for each other, claiming to be superior to everyone else (and how their children would eventually conquer the universe). To me Superman and Wonder Woman are the ultimate power couple. They have history and chemistry, and they just make sense. The fact that there isn't much more of them together is a crime. Doesn't matter how much Superman/Lois Lane work they come up with - I will always see the SM/WW ship as superior. Though Superman and Maxima would also be an interesting pair.

That's the key!" said J.Jonah Jameson.(while talking about naming the Green Goblin...). David then adds lines something along the lines of, 'Just then, J.Jonah Jameson 's secretary, Betty Brant leaned into the office door and reminded him that he was due for a conference called with scientists Reed Richards and Bruce Banner...!' I couldn't read for several minutes as I laughed my AFTERBURNERs off!😂 Any way, the use of alliteration to keep readers interested and makes names catchy and easy to remember is actually a very old writers trick.

Mostly the classic cartoon "superman and the mad scientist" where you choose between lana Lang, the mermaid (Lori Lemaris), Linda Danvers, the Kryptonian actress (Lyla Lerror), and Kat Grant. Actually, there was a “Supergirl” in an even earlier story (this video shows her with Superman introducing her to the Planet staff) that turned out to be an imaginary person. Only seen in that one issue, but she looked like an older version of Kara. This was years before 1959. Listening to this guy trying to give a history of Supergirl and coming out with an amalgamation of a very complicated history was excruciating. And she wasn’t “crazy” about Superman, that shot of her marrying Superman was from a visit to an alternate universe where she didn’t seem to have any strong feelings about Superman until he made the first move.

I remember a fan picture of superman with almost of his love interests. Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Kat Grant, the mermaid (Lori Lemaires), Wonder Woman, and other women that I really think should not be there. Lois and Wonder Woman were the only ones pregnant. If it were me, I would remove the women I haven't mentioned. I would put Linda Danvers, the Kryptonian actress he dated (Lyla Lerror), and that girl from "the girl who hired superman". I would also make them all pregnant. That's just my thoughts.

I have those issues. An Apokolyptian called Sleeze exceeded Darksied's orders to humiliate Superman by mind control. Mister Miracle(good guy, true son of High Father of New Genesis, but raised on Apokolyps and husband to Big Barda was lured(I think) to catch Superman and Barda 'in the act'.

Superman is gay now. Even though there is NOTHING in his family history, on Earth or from Krypton, to suggest such a state should be remotely part of his character. Both his parents, adopted grandparents, and fraternal grandparents, were hetero through and through. Like his father, he has no brothers or sisters, and was raised under his father's values pertaining to living and being raised in farming rural middle American lifestyle. Meaning not being exposed to the corrosive atmosphere of inner-city & suburban influence. And his best friend was born into an assassin-cult lifestyle, whose father is one of the _most alpha men on the planet_ , not to mention respected by none other than Darksied as a tactician. Superman being gay is unlikely in the least, and ludicrous at best. *Intersexualism is a scheme* to undermine the fabric of a solid functioning society, and through comics is aimed at our most valued and vulnerable asset: our children.

Oh yeah i remember those moments, Lois lane never reslly care about Clark Kent she only got the heat and passion for Superman. Well Clark is dumb that the women's only care about Clark Kent , but he seem to give his attention to Lois lane only i would never understand 🤔🙄🤦‍♂️. It's a bad written it show that of different tv series on Smallville , And on Lois & Clark show. Superman/ Clark Kent should've have common sense/ knowledge that he realize that Lois lane wasn't into Clark but only Superman

Superman and Lois Lane is the best couple in my opinion. For Elseworld's comics I like Kingdom Come's Superman and Wonder Woman being couple as it is non-canon and they have reason for being couple after Lois' death, which is better than the take on New 52 series.

i get it supermans the poster boy for dc and the favorite of countless people writers included, so of course he gets the dc's so called number 1 girl wonder woman, but i like the continuity where batman, a mortal man, wins the heart of wonder woman, an actual goddess, justice leage cartoons were awesome. and they had to over come my biased for marvel as a kid. all that said... number 1 best dc girl, hawk girl, she turned her back on her own people to help her friends on earth, shes curagous strong and lyal but also not berdoned by hateful amazonian religious views like wonderwoman.
