I've been a huge fan of Lionel Richie since he was with the Commodores in the early 1970s. There isn't another balladeers who equals him. He has been in the music business for over 50 years and he's still tours. Amazing.
I'm so happy you thought to collect Lionel Richie (and the Commodores) songs from "The Voice." For me, Texan Dave Fenley (3:42) is also very special, his warm-toned vocals having accompanied me for hundreds of miles, while on the road, by means of Amazon-purchased MP3s. Thanks Cholla, Lionel and The Commodores have given us a more romantic world, for sure! Some songs were left out because there was no performance on The Voice, such as "Three Times a Lady, You Are, Truly" and others : /
My family lived in Montgomery. AL and business was so slow that my parents went to lunch and minutes later I heard the front door bell rang to let me know someone walked in. I had a guitar area in the back! I walked out front after I finished tuning a guitar. I saw a tall guy with an Afro playing a 10’ Baldwin Grand i Piano and he had Magic fingers! And two other guys were with him! I told him he mace that piano sing. He played a few more minutes and asked if I could get two more just like that one.! I said yes! He said he needed that one delivered to Tuskegee to their studio and gave me two addresses to deliver them to! Then asked if I’d take a check and wrote it out for retail price for all three. It was Lynold Richie and the bass player and the guy with the rhinestone glasses! My parents came back and asked if there was any business while they were gone. I turned over three sales order pages and dad got mad saying damnit you know how bad business was. I told him he’d have to call Baldwin and have them ship the other two to Michigan to his mom and sisters homes ! He enabled our company to make ends meet that month. He was a very humble man and hope the pianos fulfilled his needs! The commadors did a concert in Montgomery a month later and he rented a 10’ grand ! Me and my two brothers deliver it and had our tuner meet us there to tune it after getting it on stages! Alabama state Univ then bought 12 Baldwin studio grands and a piano lab consisting of 12 piano lab pianos. We delivered them all up two flights of stares and set them up and wired them all together plus the teachers console. It saved our business! Thank you Mr Richie! Micky DeLoach
Me too! i Would be great if the year was included. I haven't been watching since Adam Levine left - and Kimberly, although not on the US show, blew me away! Her voice and stage presence... she's either performed before or an amazing natural.
I was sitting here in my easy chair listening to some old music, and along came Lionel Richie--and a light bulb when off in my head, it burst when it popped in my head to feature his songs in one of my videos----is that the way it happened? Well no matter what, it worked out. How many artists like this have come and gone from our memory, how many sneak back like this to revive those great songs? and great singers? Lionel was good at performing all of these but some of The Voice contestants have out-performed Lionel with their renditions. Ana Ruth and Tony Gordon of Brazil -- Excellent performance. WOW.
Lionel Richie (and the Commodores) is one of my favorite artists. Very good compilation! Kimberly (Maasdamme?) was probably the best singer (plus she's really pretty, i.e. she's got "the whole package"), but they were all good.

And if the 4th guy (1st cover of all night long in this vid) could duet w/the best audition/cover of Gloria Estefan's "the rhythm" or "conga" it would just be an awesome mashup or battle!
A moça que interpretou "easy" simplesmente modificou tanto a música que mal a identifiquei. Se não fosse o refrão não diria que fosse a mesma música. Não sei o motivo de mudar tanto, sei que existe a "própria leitura" da canção, mas assim é por demais! Eu não gosto destas releituras que tiram totalmente o verdadeiro ritmo e som da música.
