You got me. Intrigued by Opus XIII! Some of my favorite ambers are Chypre Palatin, Akkad, Bourbon by Hendley and Ryder when I'm in the mood for candy amber - at least this is how my brain interprets it lol

As someone who's into fragrance (but far from being a collector) it's so hard to dodge clickbait+cringe thumbnail combo and find decent content about it. I'm so glad I found this channel cause not only you're very knowledgeable and I love when you tell the history of important fragrances, but it's refreshing to see someone who's not praising baccarat rouge and delina and looking down on perfectly pleasant designer fragrances.

I purchased a decant of Grand Soir last year. My wife (who IS NOT into fragrances at all) loves when I wear it and wants to purchase me a full size. I like Grand Soir ALOT. It’s not a “LOVE”, but it’s way up there. So I’m looking for an amber I may “LOVE” that she would enjoy on me. I don’t believe in purchasing specifically a full size unless it’s one you LOVE and MUST HAVE. Nice list and I appreciate how you pronounced the fragrances with an accent reflecting the country of origin 9/28/23

Very beautiful choices! Thank you for the inspiration! I love an amber combined with leather, wood, incense, vanilla or tonka bean 😍 I do have Ambre Cello from L‘Orchestre Parfum currently on my wishlist as well as Ambre Safrano from BDK, the last one is quite synthetic, however. I also want to try Ambre Russe from Parfum D‘Empire and Ambre Cashmere from Nicolaï.

Awesome list! My favorite that I have tried is from Anka Kus and it is called Ambre Destan. If you already have Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, this smells similar, but it is not as spicy or pungent. Instead, Destan is sweet and syrupy and, I kid you not, it smells like a lovely stack of pancakes covered in melted butter and syrup. It is such a delicious amber fragrance that it kills me EVERY time I smell it.

Amber is one of my favourite notes “subconsciously” as I didn’t know it until I took a good look at my collection. I love Grand Soir and Musc Ravageur (I’m content with my samples for now and I also have L’ Erbolario Meharees). P.S. I usually get very annoyed with YTbers jumping into the LilySilk bandwagon (these sponsorships are literally in every video and some are a bit too in-your-face!) but you presented and integrated it in your content in such a fun yet classy way that I’ll let this one pass, haha. I genuinely love your silk top choice - so “you” and so elegant. I have bought their pillowcases and PJs several years ago but their sizing doesn’t suit petites like me and their return policies are so complicated that it deterred me from ordering any more. Hopefully it’s improved now; their customer service team tries their best to make up for whatever’s lacking product-wise and in their after-sales service.

I've had a fragrance from fort and manly called amber absolute for six months now. Its very nice for the winter sexy strong amber Yum. I actually got a compliment by a classy lady last week at a avent I was at. That was very uplifting. 😎

Also in my collection I love Overture by Amouage, Angels' Share by Killian, Instant Crush by Mancera, Oajan by Parfums de Marly, My Burberry Black, Amber Room by Thameen, Triumph of Bacchus by Argos, and Seta by Moresque.

Very nice to see a thorough Amber list. I’ve been feeling Amber vibes during the deep freeze in NYC. Ambre precieux and Ambre loop get my aura right. Of course Shalimar. In addition to amber fragrances, I’ve been exploring incense fragrances and bold floral fruity and leather fragrance . Amazing how cold air inspires so many choices and moods.

Wonderful amazing list of such a broad spectrum of one of my most favorite notes of better said accords! Loved the suggestions I'm on the hunt now lol. I highly suggest CK's Euphoria Amber Gold. A niche quality scent that just happens to be designer lol. I can't believe it was discontinued so fast but as far as "men's" amber fragrances go it is amazing! Not so easy to locate or inexpensive these days and I don't normally recommend tracking down discontinued scents but I do feel that this one is worth it but some of the prices now are just insane but for a good price I can't recommend enough ❤. Hi Sam! Thank you so much for a comprehensive video on Amber ❤️🙌 one of my favs is Lalique - Les Compositions Parfumées Sweet Amber - great logevity and aura. As for Prada Amber it has been my signature secnt for 3 years (approx 7 years ago). I aslo liked saddly discuntinued Prada sequel - Prada L'Eau Ambree 😍 that would be my top 3 in this category ☺️ and later Mollinard - Ambre. Understated, but lovely amber, a quite similar spicy amber to Luten’s ambers 🏆 Lots of Love 🌹 Joan

I revisited this tonight... enjoy ambre sultan a great deal while my husband prefers l'air du desert. Musc ravageur is the highest of the high. He wears it so often, we need a backup. (I'll take the quarter that's left in his 100ml.) I even have a naughty little song about it called little brown bunny... so cuddly and cozy and slightly animalic. Unnnnh!!!

What i found amusing was that, when i was first beginning to explore fragrances, i chanced upon a sample of ambre sultan and found out about the amber genre as a result. But it just smelled like the attars my grandfather and his friends used to wear, lmao! And then i tried grand soir - same thing. Though i should explore this genre more, maybe there's something that doesnt smell like southeast asian fathers and grandfathers...

Nice selection of ambers. From Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, I'd have to go with Ambre Tibet. There's a slight camphorous and medicinal hint from the eucalyptus that balances things out. But for my favourite, for now at least, that would definitely go to Battaniye by Pekji. I'm sure there's some word association going on, since the word means blanket, but that is what I get. A very dense, cozy blanket with a soft exterior and has just been pulled out from the closet for the winter season.

I'm not into Amber's and do not own any. I'm watching this video for ideas. I fully intend to buy a bottle of Bengal Rouge which I just encountered for the first time time the other day. I just wish the fragrance had a stronger animalic nuance or even more Insense. I really want to try Ambre Loup and will do so once LuckyScent has it in-stock. Perhaps I appreciate amber as more of a supporting note rather than the starring role. Though I should probably try some of the fragrance you've listed before deciding this for certain.

Hi Sam, a question, I don't have the option to smell Grand Soir because there is a stock out where I live and there is talk of reformulation. It's one of those fragrances that you always have on your list but never end up buying because others come along and you let it go. I would ask you, if you happen to smell the new formulation you can tell us, with the sincerity that characterizes you, if there has been any drastic change as in the case of Musc Ravageur (another that has also been reformulated and .... nothing to do with the version of up to a year and a half ago) ... if it is worth it. I know you are talking about fragrances that you have had in your collection for a long time and with the old formulas...but these are times of change in the niche perfume houses and unfortunately some classics, works of art, are already things of the past. My dear, thank you for your great videos! I apologize in advance for being righteous. But there is a misunderstanding here that is really widespread. I have worked in the perfume industry for 8 years - also directly with perfumers. Amber perfumes refer to the amber excreted by the whale, not amber, which is the resin from the tree that has turned to stone. There may be a few exceptions in the market. You can check it yourself: Buy amber (little resin stones) for incense and smoke it. You will smell the difference to amber perfumes.

Thanks for this video Sam 🤗🌅🤎✨. It seems like I have added a lot of Amber fragrances into my collection without even trying. I would have to say that my favorite Amber fragrance is from Christian Dior Privé Ambre' Nuit 🤎🤎🤎✨ edp .. I do have MFK's Grand Soir 🤎🤎 and I love it I absolutely love it! Jo Malone has the scent Myrrh and Tonka Intense Cologne (which is I guess the same strength as a true EDP). It's really good 🤎🤎🤎

I blend the meritonka with my mimosa cardamom, and I only bought the Marin Tonka because my Joe Malone FA suggested I use it insisted I use it with the Joe Malone Scarlet Poppy intense and it is mind-blowing I love poppy scents fragrances.
