I literally JUST purchased the Chanel 19 in the Tie and Dye pattern. It is my very first Chanel. I'd been watching the Chanel 19's for a while & knew I wanted one but had never pulled the trigger & then I saw that gorgeous color & I knew. It is my first & more than likely last Chanel at the current price points, but she looks good next to my LV's & my YSL Toy Lou Lou.

@@VivienneConnolly11 I bought the black since it will be more of an everyday bag. My collection consists of am insane number of Chanel bags that I wear for specific events, such as lunch for friends, night outs, etc. and then other luxury brands such as Gucci, YSL, Prada, etc for everyday bags, that I switch out every week or so. I realized most of my every day bags had gold hardware, so I wanted one with silver. So the YSL puffer in black with aged silver hardware fit the need. I am super excited about getting it! It is just like so many other people have described: a fluffy marshmallow that you can’t stop touching 🤣

Personally I’d prefer a lovely collection of entry level luxary bags instead of one beautiful but very high prized Chanel. My list of 5 are: *LV Alma BB Damier Ebene. *Gucci Dionysus surpreme mini monogram/taupe. *Givenchy Antigona mini in black croc. *Gucci Disco Soho in red. (Or: alternatively a bigger bag like LV NeoNoe in monogram) * and a black with gold hardware YSL that is elegant and evening apropriate. Not sure what to go for. You make a good selling Point for the Camera bag! Your picks are lovely! And your hair is so pretty! 🌸

This is a great video, Viv! I bought my first Chanel last year after much hemming and hawing (a timeless clutch on chain), and while I love it to bits and love to use it when I can, it's also one of those bags that I tend to be more careful about because it requires a certain ... context for me to wear it considering my lifestyle. It's also led me to conclude that I would rather have bags that I can bang about without any other considerations -- that's my black-and-silver YSL miniLou, my black-and-gold Balenciaga hip bag, and my LV mini (monogram) pochette which I've turned into a micro bag using a vachetta strap I had made for another bag. I also have a Gucci super mini (dusty pink) that's arriving soon, just so I can give my mini pochette a rest -- and when that's done I think I'll have all the small bags I really need for my collection. Chanel is beautiful, yes, but with the price and my lifestyle, it's just too much of a bother.

I would still buy the Chanel classic because 10 years from now the classic bag will have risen in value while the others as beautiful as they are don’t think will stand the test in time .. no shades to the other brands just IMHO.

All great choices! One of my favorite and most versatile bags is the Bvlgari Serpenti wallet on chain style. It retails for around 1500 Euros/1750 USD. It holds about the same as a mini bag, more than the usual WOC. It also has both an interior and exterior pocket, and a gorgeous removable chain of you want to make it a clutch. It is fully leather-lined. It is one of the best bags on the market for versatility, quality, and good price point for luxury that I’ve found.

I have been building my collection and decided on multiple bags initially instead of one Chanel. So far I have: 1) Mulberry small zipped Bayswater black for work 2) YSL toy Loulou beige gold hardware 3) Givency Antigona mini beige mock croc gold hardware 4) Mulberry bayswater tote oxblood 5) YSL wristlet Black with gold hardware I also have a lovely gold chain which I use with the YSLs to dress them up/make the wristlet a bag. I use all of them and love them for different reasons. Am eyeing up the LV PM in the Black empreinte. Feel like I need something with a pop of colour but not sure what to go for?

The Chanel Jumbo is too big for me to go from day to evening. I am petite so definitely a no no. Yes YSL puffer for me in the small can do that from day to evening for a not so formal dinner. For more formal, i would prefer a YSL camera bag the last one which you had chosen. Great choice.

I would love to see a video on what bags you would bring as your personal item & carry on luggage for when we can travel again. I have a backpack that I use because I need to carry my laptop fo work, but that goes in the overhead & then I usually use my LV On The Go Tote or my Speedy B 30 as my personal item for under the seat access. And I'd love to see how you would pack them. :)

@@VivienneConnolly11 Fabulous - Thank You! I did find the On The Go to be really heavy when I used it with my laptop in it before I got my travel backpack. I was connecting in ATL & had to go from B terminal to S terminal and that bag got sooooooo heavy during that trek. I did have it really full but had my laptop not been in it, it would've been fine.

@@VivienneConnolly11 I regret not having bought the Chanel bag sooner, in 2007-2008 when it was 2000 pounds. Didn’t know the prices would go crazy, but don’t regret passing on them recently as I think over 5 k is way too much for me to happily enjoy a bag. Would rather buy fine jewelry ❤️

This was a great video Vivienne. Although I thought that this was going to be a video on 5 a bags that you would buy instead of the jumbo as a better value substitute. That would be a good video also I think. I would hate to give up my jumbo but I actually think that I would if I had to I. Order to have a rounded collection, if I couldn’t do both. I do have the loulou puffer in the small in white. It is a gorgeous bag. I’ve been eyeing the puzzle bag in tan and I consider it every time someone shows it.

I've been eyeing the SL puffer bag in small quilted crinkled matte leather - storm color for a while now. What's holding be back is the 12% tax I have to pay here in 🇨🇦 (west coast) on top of the price of the bag. Buying it in Europe would be much cheaper, but God knows when I'm able to travel again?! Le sigh! 🙄

The resale on all the bags you recommended are all lower than retail, people would lose money buying any of those. Honestly buying a good used Hermès birkin would have been a better investment.

@@VivienneConnolly11 if someone was thinking about buying a Chanel and bought a ysl or givenchy instead they effectively lost value instantly as opposed to Atleast retaining the value of their bag. I would never tell anyone considering Chanel to go with a brand that doesn’t hold its value. Lv is a brand in a lower price point that holds its value better. I just don’t understand?

Not everyone really care about investment value on a bag. I put my investment on stocks and opt for 3-4 all rounder nice quality bags that I love and use everyday. Doesn’t have to be chanel.

Hi Viv! If I had money, the only Chanel I would buy because it steals my heart and projects a relaxed vibe is the Chanel 19. The other bag I really like is the beige toy loulou, much more affordable for my pocket. ;) 🥰🥰🥰🌹👛

Yesterday was Sant Jordi in Catalonia. Couples give each other books and roses and if you don't have a partner, your daughters, friends or co-workers give it to you. It's a very beautiful day where the streets are filled with books, roses and people walking. 🌹🌹🌹📓📗

Ysl I'm very interested in. The small Ysl loulou. I think that's what I want to go with. Oh and you didn't include your other fav which is the Gucci camera bag. I'm shocked because you said it's durable but you must didn't think it holds its value or its too expensive. So thanks again for all your advice.

I have the Toy LouLou & the YSL College & I love them both. I really like that I can pull the gun metal chain of the College & put on my Toy Lou which I have in the all black hardware. And the College has that lovely top handle too.

I would recommend the Chanel 19 if you want something you can use daily, a classic for more occasional bag and the ysl toy lou Lou is a great bag 🥰❤️

I currently have: LV speedy b 25 Ysl medium niki Ysl medium envelope bag I don't totally know which bag is next on my list. I'm thinking a smaller everyday bag and a work bag? Any suggestions? I'm Def a crossbody girl, so as much as I love the look of totes (the prada cuir double in nude is to DIE for) I don't think I'd use them that much
