This storyline of Curtis and Lauryn this season almost felt like a horror story inside of Top Boy. Curtis, his sister and their one-eyed partner were terrifying. Not familiar with the actor that plays Curtis but he really killed the role.
Every scene he’s in, Curtis is commanding his environment. Especially this scene since I don’t recall Dushane ever being called to the cafe and sat on the other side of the table
@@JohnDoe-lj3ph oh yea I didn’t realise that. Guess that could also be a way of conveying how he wasn’t the man he used to be w power n shit in that episode
The guy who played Curtis honestly blew me away. Sometimes he'd said more by not even saying anything at all. His expressions are phenomenal. His look at 0:16 is just perfect.
Was surprised when I found out the actor that played Curtis (Howard Charles) isn't actually a scouser. He nailed the accent inch perfectly. Good character played by a Great actor, Shame he won't be back in season 5.
To be honest mate as commanding as his performance is, the accent is dodgy. Not always, but you can tell he’s not from Liverpool if you live there yourself
Kudos to the actor who played Curtis. Such a great, intimidating villain. You think he’s gonna flip but he never does, he speaks more with his eyes than with his mouth, he’s so detached from reality that he’s the hero of his own story.
Every single actor on this show had a phenomenal performance. Curtis was terrifying and a real horror story. Jaq, Jamie, and of course Sully absolutely smashed it
@@NileSWPhotography it’s just one actress. Everyone felt natural in their roles. She’s the only one that reminded me she’s an actress. The rest of them gives me a “day in the life” feel.
Phenomenal season. Curtis was scary as and it’s kind of a shame there wasn’t more of a showdown. His sister is definitely gonna come back in force. My only criticism of the show is that they are bring all these drugs over but yet the only time you see them sold is on a street corner - thought they could show them moving them to other gangs etc which would then justify why they are making so much $$$. I assume there will be a war with the other Spanish gang. Let’s see.
i reckon it’ll just be a classic Dushane vs Sully showdown next season over Summerhouse to decide top boy, considering Sully killed Jamie’s boy that to me was a sign of the start of a war, especially after Sully said they’re going their seperate ways and you see Dushane and Jamie working together
@@kdburner7356 I think you are probably right but I’m hoping that it won’t involve Sully being depressed and leaving London. Hoping he decides he wants it all and to be top of the tree. Let’s see. Phenomenal series.
@@Charlieandersali Sully was far too back seat this season, he seemed to me like he was planning something cause he usually whinges Dushanes face off about being equal n that😂 i think him killing Jamie is gonna domino
@@kdburner7356 I feel like sully done it to help Dushane and himself in the long run. Jamie was quick to kill his best friend. Sully would’ve noticed that along with how he was moving in Morocco and realised her would’ve done something to them eventually. And if you’ve watched the original series there’s a bit where dushane saves sully. Definitely a call back to that too
Absolutely the show has the potential to expose how the “so called” upper class benefit off the drugs trade contrast against the young black boys abs girls losing their lives in the streets over this, it could really educate society but the makers don’t want to go there
Curtis was absolutely terrifying. Never raised his voice once but I was in abject fear whenever he was on screen. He was menacing and unpredictable in such a visceral way that I had to pause his scenes at times just to catch my breath and compose myself. The actor nailed it and I hope to see more of his work in the future cos he's incredibly gifted at his craft.
We need a spinoff for Curtis. Just Curtis being Curtis. Drake make it happen. Shows name could be "CURTIS" and its a about lunatic doing mad things. Real Horror show.
Kinda miss the friendly wink at Dooshane from Curtis his end at the slot of the conversation. Was the whole reason i wanted to rewatch this scene. Cause Curtis such a jovial jolly man
This Curtis breh was so bookey in every scene , you literally couldn’t read his personality lmao. I think we all were like wtfff when Lauryn called him 😂 I wanted to see a showdown between him and DOoshane
If Lauryn haven’t killed Curtis, things would turn out so much differently because Curtis is really so smart and i think he could’ve outsmarted everyone from Summerhouse
Only bad bit about the acting in this scene is the way he moved that mug at 00:33 Ain’t no chance of sliding a cup of tea at that speed without it spilling out the top
Very like Love hate Irish Tv show🇮🇪 But London version obsessed with it atm great show. Live by the gun die by it that is the reality of that life. Amazing show season 5 can't come quick enough
domestic abuse is a real thing and happens every single day how can you say its exaggerated it showed him bully her emotionally and mentally this happens he just wasn't shown to be psychically abusive but yes women also do the same to men its not a one way street when it comes to domestic violence you just hear less about the abused men if anything at all because they feel ashamed and less of a man because society will tell them they're a pussy and laugh at them ridicule them and be little them so its not reported and logged for stats, but when it's a guy on girl he's a coward a pussy and deserves a beating men can't win either way
Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the only time he sits with his back to the door. Every other time he's here he sits facing the street. As if what in front of him supercededs any other dangers that might be coming.
