For me he actually changes when he first gets to know Jason. He almost sees him as a son, and that he has a duty to look after him. So Sully seeing Jason die is almost like him seeing his own child die. And you’re right from that point on he is a different man

I love how Dushane is trying to anger Sully in this scene after Sully calls him out.. he’s trying to get a reaction out of Sully because he himself knows he did wrong he just wants some sort of reciprocated energy back. Perfect acting.
Dushane ain't trying to anger Sully, he's passionately responding in a disagreeing tone because he disagrees with how things had to go down. Sully is playing submissive here because that is how he has always been with dushaine..tell me who other than dushaine has put hands on sully and nothing happened? Sully is an OG and probably the most like character but I love how no matter what sully is like the little brother that looks up to and kinda fears dushane, not in a punk way type of fear but a reverence type...like when dushane yoked sully up in season 1 when dris took his spot...i never seen anyne put hands on sully and he just stare like he scared..sully wants to be dushanes equal buthe knows dusnane is the top boy and in a weird kinda way he is ok with it..brotherly love is displayed well here.
Am I the only one that feels like Sully is more human than Dushane? Like the fact Dushane pratically was willing to ruin 2 innocent kids futures just to win & become top boy of the whole of east London. And Sully, who may seem to be evil to people eyes, but to the close people who know him, he’s a loyal friend that would always be there for the people that loved and accepted him for his past actions. He watched two of his friends die in front of him & was forced to kill the friend he called brother (Dris), Dushane pretty much is ruthless and less compassionate about the people he knew, he watched Michael Infront It him and he pratically shrugged dris death, a friend he knew since back in the day and was his ride or die. Season 3 pretty much showed a more compassionate Sully & a more devious Dushane.
I see it different. Dushane KNEW Jamie wasn't gonna let his brother take the fall and go to prison. He knew his plan would take his main competitor off the streets and allow him to take over. It's chess, not checkers. Sully has always been a hot head who acted first and thought second. Only time he ever showed compassion for anybody was for the kid. And that's because he could relate, with his moms being a junkie also. You talking about a guy who kidnapped his own blood for a bag....he just as devious as Dushane when he needs to be. Dris ratted and tried to have them both killed...he got what he deserved. Brethren or not, you dont snake on the team. No fuks given after that...Michael ratted too. He didn't just shrug it off, he was literally running for his life when the Albanians tried to ambush him in season 2. He didn't have time to sit there and mourn. But Michael was likely to be dealt with anyway. You NEVER rat. That's the code. Kid or not, that's how it goes... Each character is complex but that's why it makes for good viewing. Both have their flaws. If Dushane didn't have any compassion, why he didn't tell Sully about Jack's sister Lauren?? He knew how Sully would react and that her sister would be as good as dead. But he didn't. He respected Jack for coming to him and she displayed her loyalty as well as Lauren being best friends with his girl so he spared her sister. And him not telling Sully will probably come back and cause another rift between Dushane and Sully down the road. But he did what he felt was right. They both show compassion when ppl earn it. And they both can be ruthless when they need to be.
Cevensities yh i do agree with what you said here but Yh the part with Dris I understand Yh but I kinda blame it on Dushane a bit cause like for the whole season Dushane made Dris feel like he was just a lost cause and dead weight and demoted him, for the last few years Dushane has been in Jamaica, Dris was the only one of the original summerhouse mandem to still carry on their legacy and kept the group together even though many have dropped their flags, Dushane May be loyal but he takes people for granted and yh Dris was a snake I cannot deny that but I wish he went out different then being killed off by sully. To Dris, he felt like he was losing all that he had before, the power, control, position, and when Jaq got promoted he felt inferior to her so there’s pretty much bare reasons why he snaked on dem. But still Even thoo I BELIVE in the Gang mantra "snitches get stitches" I still think Dushane should have been their when Dris got killed or even talked to him about it. Dushane is power hungry, in reality, he sees everyone as his soldiers, especially his close friends, he kept saying "I" instead of "We" all the time and will go into any length to be in control, pretty much what he did to Jamie when he had both his brothers arrested.
I love Kano's performance in this scene. Sully looked so disgusted with Dushane's actions he couldn't even look him in the eye. Using a kid to stitch up his opponent but to be fair, Jamie had Dushane against the ropes with a green light on him for a hit. This whole time Sully's like "I can't believe you done that".
Dushane was right. He didn't outfight Jamie, he outthought him. Sully was always getting too distracted and Dushane led. Sully needs to know he's best as Dushane's right hand, his lightning rod, cos its together they are best.

The real OGs use the snitiching card to their advantages abd thats how the big boys get on top by using the cops and feds against ur enemies. In my opinion dushane has always seen the game for what it was and is. A means to make money and acquire power to protect his and his people. Everyone else seems for one reason or the other to stop seeing that. Feds are part of the game. Ur family getting deaded is part of the game because they are your weakness. This is a jungle. Sully has a soft aide for kids. Always has and I have a feeling thats gonna do him in. Dushane knew what he did is wrong .. you can see in his movements, his facial expressions, mans is blinking a lot and fidgeting, yelling making no sense lmao ina way this was the lowest he’s ever felt . Being broke he never acted like this but hurting 2 innocent kids was a lot

I get the whole no talking to the police code but Sully would have killed Jamie's brothers to get the win without question. That was the only play they had with the way the story was going. Dushane showed compassion. He made Jamie give up himself to save his brothers. Sully won't truly trust Dushane after that but they were really getting their ass kicked by Jamie and his crew. They was really on the ropes. As a viewer I'll take setting Jamie up with the police over killing some young boys any day.
Sully never would’ve killed Jamie’s brothers no way. He said to Dushane straight - ‘’ I ain’t harming no kids’’ or something along those lines. Part of his whole issue here is that Jamie’s brothers got caught up in the whole thing but his main issue was Dushane speaking to the police to get Jamie out the way. He DEFINITELY would ride out on Jamie and his crew as we saw. He’d rather go to jail for murdering one of them or potentially even die that win the war by snitching. It’s against the code and unlike Dushane, Sully views the code as more important than getting one up on the opp.
Just like he said he'd do anything to get back on top and he did..sully has always known deshane was the boss and he to some degree accepted the way things were and are..it's ingrained in sully to follow deshane like a little brother..just the way it is and will always be..they brothers, good or bad.

Dushane one of those characters that seems smart in comparison to people who don't think. Everyone in this show was a soldier except him and Jamie, and Jamie fucked him up good to the point he had to rat.
