as someone who is 18 and still learning about cars I like that you demonstrate what each tool or gadget does and the different prices for anyone's budget rather than other youtubers who would normally just use more expensive items that most people cant afford. The book was also a wholesome thing to do cause like its something that would be useful and any kid that likes cars would be proud to learn something and tell there parents so its something educational and interesting for a kid to read since it has pictures and a story to it and then when they get older they could thank you for teaching you about cars.
I absolutely love the children's book! My son is a toddler right now but I've already placed an order for a copy. My grandfather was a master mechanic for over 40 years and my dad is a weekend warrior mechanic for all his friends. They both passed on their love of cars to me, and I'll be doing the same for my son. I can't wait to show him how to do basic maintenance and teach him how to approach problems. Keep doing you, man!
That's so cool, my grandfather was an infantryman in the US Marine Corps for 10 years and out of 22 years of service he spent his remaining 12 years as an Aircraft mechanic.
@@chrisfix14 year old here. For sure our generation is interested! One of my buddies is renovating an old 80s Scout and my Dad & I are planning on starting a Subaru or Mitsubishi project car with each other!
I have two daughters, 19 & 14, and as a mom it'll make me feel more at ease knowing that they can change a tire! I just ordered two books lol. Thank you Chris for your knowledge, helpful tips, and warm heart! Merry Christmas to you! 🎅🎄⛄
Ma dood, when we saw the children's book, both my fiance and I both agreed that is such an awesome thing to do, and even though they are for children, we will be buying one for the shelf for sure! The QR code idea really warmed our hearts, and you never cease to amaze us! Keep up the great content Chris! I look forward to more work on that Del Sol!
Chris is one of the most consistent and hardworking RU-vidrs on the platform. He keeps it accessible for anyone of all skill levels and no matter what tools you have. Always positive, keep up the awesome work! I hope your book is very successful!
Agreed MTBN. I first found Chris when I was looking for repair videos regarding my Ford Ranger about six years ago. Since he's had that Mazda B Series forever, he had some good ones for me. Just a tip Chris, if you see this... It's "a pair of scissors" or "a pair of pliers" when referring to the tool itself. Because it isn't a single "scissor", it's two "scissors" that make up the tool itself, so you have to use the "a pair of". As in, "And, on this side we have a pair of scissors". You only use "scissors", without the "a pair of" when you're referring to them in the abstract (some, any, both). As in, "Hey, do you have any scissors?" Even if you're talking about multiple items, you'd say, "I have three pairs of scissors in that drawer over there." I know you're a bit of a perfectionist in all you do, so just thought I'd point that out :) Cheers and Thanks as Always for Posting, Sev
Just as a safety tip, most likely you already know this - 6:55 don't break loose the wheel bolts by lifting, instead break them loos by pressing down - your back and spine will thank you a bunch! Cheers!
it might be true but considering that when going down you can only push about as much as you weigh, but when you push up you can add a couple kilograms of force and it will loosen up easier
@@dat_platypus7007 The reason you push and not pull to loosen is mainly in the case of failure. Should the fastener be over tightened and you pull towards you and the tool slips off or worse breaks, All that force is directed at you instead of the ground. I have hit myself in the head a number of times when pushing wasn't an option and I was force to pull in a tight space under a car. And if you can't break a Lug loose with the rachet/breaker bar you are using, it's probably best to get a longer tool for more leverage or grab a cheater bar to really maximize your leverage point.
I got one of those extractor vacuums this late spring and ended up deep cleaning my parents volvo wagon. The thing was like new! It went from being kinda junky with stains on the seats and muddy carpets to basically immaculate. It did take a few days to do everything from a exterior wash to vacuuming out doghair to cleaning all the plastics windows and finally the wet vac on all the carpet and upholstery. But definitely worth it, highly recommend it
Can confirm the teslong borescopes are fantastic. I got the 80 dollar one of Amazon years ago and use it at my job fairly regularly, and it's still going strong.
As a long time fan i just wanna say thank you for saving me many trips to the mechanics , allowing me to keep my car maintained and helping me find the best tools for the job thanks chris your a life saver 💯
Merry Christmas Chris! Your videos are awesome! I think you are making the car community a better place by making it easier for people who have never worked on there own cars before feel like these tasks aren't so intimidating. You're awesome!
I agree, i had to replace my mastercilinder on my 1979 Isuzu KB and i had to make my own flarenut wrench by cutting a slit into the box end of an 10 mm wrench just to get it loose without stripping it. I definitifly agree 100% that it is a good idea to have a set like this, thanks for all your helpful videos.
I remember when this channel hit 1 million subscribers. You've truly been an inspiration for everyone. I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished so far. Can't wait to see your channel hit 10 million. Happy holidays!
Bought the m12 inflator years ago. It's awesome! Use it on my tacoma when I go off roading. Deflate to ~20 psi and then back up to 33-35 when I'm done. One 4.0 amp battery does all 4 tires. I keep 2 spare batteries and a charger with me in the truck as well.
Ok, I found this channel by accident... I don't think I'd try most of these all by myself, but Chris' energy makes this a few seasons of happy series :) Appreciate it :)
I dunno if you'll ever see this. But I'm buying my first car today. I'm 19, and I've been watching your videos for years. I have the used car checklist printed off and ready to go, and if all goes well: This $2,750 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis LS will be mine. Thank you for almost a decade of helping car people, old and new alike, for learning so much about how to fix and maintain their vehicles on decent budgets. How can I pay that gratitude back?
December 2022, 9.31 Million Subscribers! Really good at working on stuff. Goal: December 2023, 15 Million Subscribers! Contain the current amount of amazing skill that Chris already has.❤
The ChrisFix Extendable Ratchet set is sold out on Amazon. I've had the Harbor Freight version since I first started working on cars. It got stuck in one extended position after like 6 years, but they exchanged it for me pretty easily. I'd never buy another ratchet again. The added leverage is invaluable. I tell people I almost gave up working on cars when I was 16 and had the cheapest socket set you could find, and snapped a socket trying to take a brake caliper bolt off. I thought I did something wrong. My dad knew nothing about cars, always paid someone to fix his. He's surprised I know so much now. And if I don't, I can just go on youtube and someone like Chrisfix will show me how to do it. Thanks and happy holidays.
I haven’t watched this yet I just wanted to say I’m so excited to see what these are and I hope I find something that I’ll like so I can go out and get one myself thank you for this video!!
It's awesome that you have your own merchandise. I've been following you for years since your first "how to" video on brakes, and I learned a lot about vehicles.
I use a Michelin manual foot pump to inflate my tyres, is accurate, silent and lasted me for years and still have it and still works . It didn't cost much either and you don't have to worry about the batteries
I am ordering more. It is just a huge money investment and takes months to get so I was being cautious haha. I got a rush order in but it's still going to take 4 months
I always carry a multitool with me on my side no matter where I go. I get obsessed over having the right tools to be prepared for anything that could go wrong.
I read your children's book to my 5 yr old the other day. I told him the next time I read it to him, we're going to read it step by step outside with my car so he can actually see how to change a tire. Thank you so much for all you do and happy holidays
i'm 14, learning about cars in my auto tech class, and even though there isn't anything that i've needed to apply in there, something that i will apply out in the real world is 2 of your videos that will help me restore my (hopefully) soon to be 2000 ford ranger with a bad head gasket and bad fuel pump, along with a 2018 chevy trax (she had 150k miles on her). i honestly cannot wait!!! honestly, the book is something that's wholesome, since if you're a kid who likes cars (like me lol) they can apply that knowledge to the real world and change the tire and be on their way. i've also been here a long while since like '13?(idk, it was a while ago lol) and have sticked here for a long while since then. thanks so much!!!
That children's book is so darn cute, if its still being sold by the time I have a reading kid, ill definitely buy it! "Out with the old, and in with the new!" -Chris
@ChrisFix update, I LOVE your book amd he seems to as well. maybe it's his sense of my excitement as I read it to him, but it it awesome!! please make more and more.. an entire collection. I wish these were around when my kids were young
Great Video! Love these annual gift idea videos! Can't afford it now, but when I can def gonna get a set of the ChrisFix Extendable Ratchet Set!!! SUGGESTION: hey Chris as for the books, great idea, I just want to suggest that for next books maybe do car battery check and change. Since everything is going electric now, when kids grow up they might be living in a world that is mostly EVs, so the books makes more sense to head towards that direction.
Even if I didn’t have an interest in cars, I’d still love this channel. You’re an incredible presenter. Just… thank you for the great content. Sincerely.
you are my most favourite youtuber and you also act like my friend who is very kind and nice to us and teach us new things and things that are practical in life...., i saw th way you wrote the story in your book, and it was awesome for small kids who are growing up, anyways!, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Man RU-vid didn't tell me you had a new video, I just happened to come across it. Another great video and some really cool tools. Congrats on the extendable ratchet set and the book. I remember watching videos of you showing us how to de-dandelion your yard lol
I'm About To Get My Very First Car Tomorrow and I'm Very Lucky That its Actually My Dream Car a (2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ). And Your Videos Have Taught Me A lot About Cars and How To Fix Them And What The Best Products to Use are and I'm Grateful That You Helped With This Stuff Because i Never Really had a Dad To Teach Me This Stuff. So Thank You.
"Turbo del sol coming soon!" 13 year old me was so excited to see it happen.... almost 4 years later I got my own del sol B series thinking I'm gonna turbo before Chris does 😂
