I can't believe, that some people expected Sarah to immediately calm down, and realize what's going on here, after everything she has been through. Linda Hamilton really nailed it to show that shock and fear.
Robert Patrick's Performance was absolute amazing after all he trained such hard to hold a neutral mimic no matter at those fast running or shooting scenes!
His inspiration was to behave like a Praying Mantis would. My subconscious picked up on it when he leapt for the trunk along with the subtle but slow head tilt upward he kept displaying. Additionally those insects run quick while keeping their torso straight and eyes on the prey.
@sabastianbarthel2393 The fact that he also trained not to blink while firing makes it even better! :) Though you notice that he does blink while interacting with humans, like the foster parents, so he appears more human himself.
@@chrisofnottingham Few minutes earlier when he taps on the glass, it sounds like metal on glass, instead of how the humans sounded. The attention to detail is unsurpassed
I always loved how well of a realistic female heroine Sarah Connor is. She fights realistically and smart using tricks and ambushes. And despite being a complete badass vs just about anyone, she reverts to a scared little girl when faced with her biggest fear/nightmare: a terminator. Which humanizes her and makes her even more relateable
Recently someone pointed out that Sarah didn't stop when she heard John calling after her. She knows they can mimic voices so her reaction of keeping on running from the t-800 is perfectly in character. Edit: the CGI for the t-1000 phasing through the gate was amazing. A few professional CGI artists attempted to recreate the CGI. Granted, they only gave themselves a weekend, IIRC. While their efforts were commendable even they agreed that the movie version looked superior to their attempts. That's saying something when you consider how much hard- and software have advanced since 1991.
Great comment! As far as I saw only Coby from Popcorn Roulette picked up on the Terminator being able to mimic voices, why Sarah didn't respond to Johns voice. The Special Effects are amazing for 91. Thanks for that info on trying to replicate it
for me, the master moment is when the T-1000 pass through the bars and the gun gets stucked. It's like "the T-1000 is from the future, the gun is from the past".
My fave "What's wrong with Wolfy - I can hear him barking" and then seconds later - your mother and father are dead". Shouldn't drink milk from the carton.
"I've heard that line before, I didn't know it was from this movie!" Is becoming depressingly common among reactors. Depressing because it proves I'm old.
One of the best sequels and movies of all time. Glad i got to see it in a theater. Anyone else think that John programmed the line "Come with me if you want to live" in the Terminator to make Sarah more relaxed
This was a fantastic movie for special effects. Top of the line in 1991. Plenty of action. And it even had a real story. Probably one of the best Sci fy movies of all time.
The sfx of this movie are a master craft in cinema. Consider this movie came out more than 30 years ago and still holds up to today's. An absolute masterpiece.
Imagine you have arachnophobia. Not the fake casual social media kind. But the real actual clinical diagnosis. And then a 7 foot high spider turns the corner and keeps crawling towards you. While running away, you hear "Mom, wait!" Will you even register that it's your son saying it?
Anyone else realised that even if Sarah heard John’s voice, she would have assumed that it was the T-800 mimicking him. It’s probably why she didn’t stop running.
Terminator grabs female security guard by the face, and sends her flying halfway down the corridor. Movie reactor states "Alright, he was nice to her." LOL
@@saaamember97 there was almost a "gentlemanly" aspect to it. "Real men don't hit girls. They also don't go throwing women into walls, through windows or bashing them with a shotgun. However shoving them back ten feet by their face is acceptable."
This is the scene that gave Linda Hamilton hearing damage on one ear. Just before shooting the elevator section, she unwittingly forgot to put one ear bud - I think it’s her right one. Bruce Willis made a similar mistake in Die Hard in that scene where he’s under the table.
In the comics, this incident absolutely destroys Silberman mentally. He realizes Sarah Connor was right the entire time and how cruel he was to her due to his ignorance. He eventually crosses paths with her again and becomes one of her staunchest allies.
I remember it felt a bit odd and funny when the terminator pushed the female ward almost gently away. Hey, you're a cyborg, you have no feelings or respect for women! You threw her colleagues through the glass? Then throw her too through the glass!
I think him being a cyborg, his analysis popped up on his screen human female, so he took it easy on her so not to accidentally unalive her breaking his order from John
It’s sad that movies like this are no longer made. It’s also funny that barely anybody realizes that the T-1000 is essentially a walking blob that can liquify or solidify any part of itself it wants to plus the color change. The ultimate shape shifter.
Dr. Silberman's cigarette gets an Honorable Mention! Great shot. The dropping of a glass out of one's hand has become so cliché in movies. The cigarette drop was GREAT.
This movie was produced at that perfect time when CGI was very expensive and practical effects were at their peak. Digital effects were only used for shots where they not only worked but showed the audience something we hadn't seen before. James Cameron took what he learned in the Abyss and ran with it here.
my favorite part was when the liquid metal man "magically" gets new clothes when the old clothes get ruined !! ... it looked SSOOOOOO realistic .... just that ONE scene alone was a game changer !!
64th Academy Awards - Best Actress Winner: Jodie Foster - "The Silence of the Lambs as Clarice Starling‡ Geena Davis - "Thelma & Louise" as Thelma Dickinson Susan Sarandon - "Thelma & Louise" as Louise Sawyer Laura Dern - "Rambling Rose" as Rose Bette Midler - "For the Boys" as Dixie Leonard Linda Hamilton - SNUBBED!! Either Davis or Sarandon should have stepped aside for Hamilton
Everybody gets mad at the Doctor for not believing Sarah! From his point of view it's the most insane story ever and she's beyond bonkers, we just have all the information to prove her right. He hears lunacy on a daily basis that doesn't come true.
Everyone talks about how Sarah didn't hear John shout, Mom, but no one talks about why the nurses or the doctor didn't see Arnold with a shotgun in his hand walking towards them. even when sarah was screaming that he was going to kill us all.
Due to the plethora of cheap low budget action movies, too many people assume that the genre doesn't require much acting talent. Linda Hamilton's reaction to the reveal is a stellar acting performance worthy of acclaim from anyone.
To me, your channel is very unique. It doesnt have the typical, top movie scenes. But a lot of scenes that are great, but not actually top movie scene. Which i love. It gets tiring of watching channels just post the very top scenes of a movie. You do a great job of getting great scenes that arent posted a lot. Love the channel man.
So interesting to see the differences between the various reactors. My personal favorites are the popcorns, Popcorn Roulette and Popcorn in Bed. Least favorites are the Ashs. Ashleigh Burtons and Just Trust Ash, which I skip past. So is this channel about ... the movie ? Or is it about shopping and comparing reactors ? EVERY comment is about the MOVIE. So why not just go watch the movie ? Your thoughts ? Your favorite reactors ? thx
