I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle ru-vid.comUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.
That's very thoughtful to you and those who's building the shelves , to make the plans for Free !!! I have a room where I could buy shelves to sit in the room. What I don't want to build anything in the room. I need to figure out heavy shelves to hold food . No shelving that will bend. Something Sturdy .
I always enjoy your videos and I learn a lot of things I need for woodworking. I'm a 63-year-old beginner. I'm retired and learning woodworking to keep myself busy. Most of what I make I give away.
The barn door pantry is EXACTLY what I need! I have the space but I didn’t have the vision! I need extra storage for my Kitchenaid mixer, food processor, pressure cooker, Nutribullet and all my future small kitchen appliances, LOL, and this is just perfect! Thank you for sharing! Time to get planning! I’ll be sure to post some pics! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes. I live in a wheelchair accessible apartment and have a lot of cabinets "missing". I have nowhere to store my small appliances so they're sitting on an ugly plastic storage shelf in the attached dinig room. Is this something that can be put together, but easily removed when I move out?
Those storage pantries are the greatest space saving places one could ask for. I have one in my home but I have a regular door instead. I love it & I thank my grandpa for that place he built bc he was the builder. Ana has made done the hard work for you & made it easy for people to accomplish their great kitchen dreams. She's so great at this IMO. So give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Thanks Ana, & God bless, Chris from Missouri
I clicked on the link provided in the description. I really liked your ideas. Plus, I was very positively surprised with your _Depeche Mode_ t-shirt. When one has good taste, it does reflect on every part of one's life.
I'm hoping to build out a school bus within the next year, sell my home & become a Nomad. The intent is to make the "Skoolie" off grid capable for up to at least 2 weeks. A pantry is a must, but I want a single door 6' tall x 2' wide x 2' deep cabinet with several drawers on heavy duty slides inside. While also having a space built onto the inside of the door that's about 6" deep to hold things like spices, olive oil, smaller narrow containers of sugar, flour, coffee & such. I started working on the plans recently & realized what I see in my head can be a lot harder to plan out on paper. 😂
Thank you, Anna! I'd been watching your videos for years, but stopped the past year or so. Loved popping in again today. Felling inspired now! Looking up kitchen cabinet plans.
You can also use finished 1/8 inch thick wall paneling cut to size to put on the wire shelf units you can buy at Menards or Home Depot. I saw that on another channel.
You are such an inspiration Ana. You've given me a bit more confidence (and a kick in the behind) to tackle some projects of my own. I hate paying someone else to take on projects I know I am capable of but find hard to organize like supplies I might need and how it should all come together. First project will be taking my builder grade kitchen pantry and making it more functional and beautiful. Thank you!
Why weren't you in my life 2 days ago? Lol I'm literally 90% finished with my new pantry shelves, but your ideas are so much better. I needed a 2nd pantry so i added it into my large laundry room. Also... i just love that i finally learned how to build everything myself instead of waiting for someone else to do it. I cannot believe it took me this long. 💪 👊 thanks for the inspiration
These are amazing!!!! I was having the hardest time trying to find videos about DIY pantries that aren’t walk ins. We rent and just moved into a house with minimum kitchen storage and all of the cabinets are only 9.5 inches so there’s so much stuff that doesn’t fit. It’s so frustrating and leads to more unwanted cabinet clutter. I appreciate the various options that you covered in this video. I’m looking to build one that won’t violate our lease to install and that we can easily take with us and use in a future kitchen or even garage if we don’t need it inside.
I would love to see your take on a pantry that uses something similar to the barn door idea, except that it's a set of pantry shelves that slide back and forth in front of the fixed back wall of pantry shelves. There would be, say 3 layers deep of shelving instead of wasting the middle space. I've been kicking this around as an idea for my pantry. My house's floor plan had the option of a pantry on the kitchen side of the wall, or a fireplace on the living room side, and the my ex husband chose the fireplace. I've always wanted the pantry, so now that the house is mine, that fireplace has got to go! It's not a particularly large space, so I want to maximize it, but I've never seen a pantry with the design I have in mind, and am not sure how to go about it. Maybe tracks or the barn door hardware to mount the movable shelves?
Seems like I've seen someone do that on a much smaller scale, like a medicine cabinet. Maybe it was Family Handyman. I don't remember if it was a video, or if I saw it in the magazine. It would probably be worth looking for that; then you'd only have to change the dimensions.
Fabulous ideas! I especially love the barn door pantry! Thank you so much for the detailed plans😍 This is my first visit to your channel, but won't be my last + subscribed🤗
Great ideas! I want to redo my pantry space using a butlers pantry style with a countertop for appliances and shelves above and below. I would love to see your take on that! :)
I have seen a lot of those done, they are beautiful and I hope to have the need to do one some day! Here is one of my recent favorites that I've seen www.handmadeweekly.com/diy-custom-pantry/
I need help. I have a pretty large space, 44" deep, 59" wide and it goes all the way to the ceiling which is 10 feet tall. I'd like to have a prep shelf (coffee, tea, toaste) and put the microwave in it. There is electric on the side. I am stuck on where to start.
Thank you theses are wonderful ideas. Unfortunately I have a very small kitchen and space is null and void as I reside in a small apartment. My panty is a small upper 2 door cabinet with only 2 shelves. If you have any future projects or upcoming videos for small kitchen pantry ideas that would be wonderful.
I have a pantry that I want to gut and redo. Rough wood press boards. They are thick but does not look nice at all. And it's dark. Shelves aren't a good distance either
Pull out pantry installed in my base cabinets? Do you think that's an idea to check into? Bad knees & back make it difficult to crawl/reach into base cabinets. Would like to rip out current cabinets & design new setup to my needs & wants.
Have you seen this plan www.ana-white.com/woodworking-projects/10-roll-outs-kitchen-cabinets ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F_Qd1knSXzs.html
For the bookshelf/barn door style pantries would there have to be any significant changes needed to add hinged doors to them? Specifically to match current cabinet doors?
Jen the editor, if you read this: does your garage get extremely warm in the summer too? I’m a bit worried sometimes about the combo heat/food. Not sure if it’s even rational.
Love all the different ideas, but what do you do when your pantry is the size of a narrow coat closet with shelves going all the way up and the door is framed so baskets and shelves can't be pull-outs? HELP!! I need storage!!
Hi, Ana! I came across your RU-vid channel while trying to find some diy/tips on creating a small cabinet of sorts. I have a small space on my countertop that I want to add a one to, so, dimensions may be pretty specific. I’m so new to all of this and was curious if by chance you may be able to help in anyway? Thank you!
@@AnaWhiteDIY thanks you. I will. I am going make that one and put a French cleat on it. I have have a narrow pantry. I am thinking about doing a French cleat shelves
we don't have the space for any of these options (or others, really). i don't know what builders in the pre 70s kitchens were thinking. we live with my mother in law and her house was built in 50s or 60s. the house we just moved from was built in 1904. both have a couple of drawers and a few cabinets with no space for a pantry. we have a set of shelves outside the master bedroom for a pantry, but its all on display. there is no depth of space to allow for any kind of door. a curtain, maybe. the fridge has room doors on either side of it, so no slide out. we have to get very creative.
Anna I used your video to make not only the shelves for our garage (112 Sq Ft of storage) ... but convert our basement walls (535 Sq Ft) for canning & prepping! Your method is BY FAR the fastest and easiest method. It's made a HUGE difference for us. Than You!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cTxRBckenI4.html
I'm cringing from that garage pantry build where you guys thought you could support entire shelves of water with a few screws into the end grain of wood. I get that you want to do "simple" things to create content, but you're going to get viewers seriously injured. I think you should learn the basic concepts of building before putting your viewers at risk.
I have a space between my stove and cabinets that is 4” wide. I would like to put a rolling pantry that could either hold spices or hanging utensils. Do you think your plans could just be scaled down or do you think the space is too narrow for something like that?
