As always very slick and a master class in tidy efficient working Peter ! I particularly liked the perfect finish on the drawer front from the router table, and as a result how neatly it slotted into place ! I keep trying to break my long established habit for measuring everything and instead using offcuts, packers and templates as you do, as it is (obviously) far more likely to result in a perfect fit - good tip on using an offset from the actual board - been caught out by this before !

I'm thinking of ditching my large table saw for a plunge/track saw, my workshop is too small for it and sometimes lives outside. It's a hard decision though as I'm afraid I would be lost without it. These videos are slowly convincing me.

Traditionally the rear of the drawer would be lower than the sides. This would stop a vacuum forming, making it difficult to open. As you have cut-out draw handles, air is drawn through the handles to the rear of the unit stopping a vacuum from forming.

Just curious, you use the term “rebate”. Is that the common term in Britain? We would call it a rabbet joint in the US.

I'm still useless as I don't have much time lol, but a dewalt DWS520KT kit arrived today with 3m of rail and bag, on a deal I just had to pay attention to. Hope I made the right choice! Hi do you no off anyway that sells the aluminum track you used on the side off your bench for your rail clamps
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
It’s standard t-track; there’s a link to the Rutlands one I used in the description, but they’ve changed to only selling 1-metre lengths now, so I’d recommend woodworkers workshop as they do 1200 lengths. 👍

I love how efficient you are wit a tracksaw! Do you have any tips how to reliably cut 45 degree bevels for beveled boxes? Is that something you can archieve or is it always trial and error until you find the right angle on your saw?
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
Thanks! Bevel cuts are always hard because there are so many ways that the angle can be affected - just your grip on the saw is enough o alter the blade slightly, so I always recommend making test cuts to get it dialled in just right, and if you have a lot to do, leave the saw set that way. 👍
@HinnerkMusic
@HinnerkMusic Год назад
@@10MinuteWorkshop Thanks for the reply! I saw you doing that in another video, and the result seemed to be perfect. Guess the most accurate way would be magnetic Inclinometer directly on the blade for setup.

Hi Peter I’m new to the channel, subscribed of course! You do excellent work, and are very entertaining. I’d like to ask maybe a dumb question ? But I notice in a few videos where you are using flush trim router bit I believe? Looks like a compression style maybe I’m wrong but I been playing with these styles lately looking always for a better one, what’s the one you use in this video at 53 seconds in? Any help would be appreciated !
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
Hi, thanks and welcome! Sorry for the slow reply - had to get into the workshop to check; t's a Trend bit with a double bearing, top & bottom, so good for use in a table as well as hand-held. Bit reference is C199 x 1/2 where the 1/2 is the shank size, and it's a 19mm bit x 50mm cutting height. HTH Peter

Hi Peter, a big fan here! Just a question, who is the maple face and reinforced poplar plywood producer? Is poplar plywood cheaper than birch? Thank you!!
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
Hi David and thanks! There’s a ‘Birch Ply Alternatives’ video out next week, just fyi, you might want to wait for that be for placing an order. The maple-faced ply is from Garnica, and bit the Poplar and the maple were a little less costly than Birch. But not by much! HTH. P

Hi Peter, thanks for the video. As always very informative and helpful. I have a project coming up shortly and need to make and install some draws using draw slides. Thanks Luke and best of luck with the change of career. There’s a few reasons why you might want to lip a shelf like that, but strength and being able to take the knocks a bit better we’re my two main reasons. 👍👍
