I like Kease, it offers some great presets and functions and compact ui. One I use alot is the overshoot preset that even works in shapes and masks keyframes. Thanks jake.
Yea it's a shame Kease isn't on the list because it's my go to. The fact that you can create your own presets, including one with anticipation & overshoot keyframes baked in is invaluable. I don't think I've seen any of the others do that, they always resort to expressions, which then become messy if you have more complex animations.
Wow, I've never seen Kease before, it looks great! The ability to save presets with more than 2 keyframes really is a killer feature. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I think it would easily make this list. The one thing it's missing is the ability to interactively adjust the easing curves. It's a shame the author isn't able to earn any money off of it currently, though.
Real estate is expensive, therefore only scripts with a small UI get on my list. And yea, Kease is splendid. Only thing to fix is the overshoot presets- you can't "browse" them like the normal curves. If you click and you don't like the results- you gotta Ctrl+Z. You can't just click a different preset cause it won't change the animation...

Theres a couple of similar non-subscription plugins: After Ease (for bounce and elastic controls), and Kease (for seeing a visual preview of a motion, and having presets like Flow). Curves looks great, but with these two affordable ones, you have a lot of these abilities that you actually own without needing to subscribe to anything.
I used (Duik - motion4 - Motion Tools 2 - flow - after ease - keystone - kease - ease & wizz - animation composer wings - easy copy) ... and now i stick with Motion Tools. Coz it does the job simply and other tools i really nead. my issue with motion 4 that is its full of tools i donot use often times. other thing i'd rather scripts than plugins due to the lightness and not consuming resourses that much as plugins do. After that Motion 4 is still super great plugin.
I don't want to sound bitter, but what's the likelihood that PlugInPlay will remove their current offerings from aescripts and lock them all behind their subscription? I want to buy Datamosh and after seeing this video Curves, but I can't justify a monthly subscription to use Curves when Motion and Skew basically do the same stuff with (maybe?) a few more clicks. And I'm hesitant to give them money for Datamosh if there's a chance they'll pull support without a subscription. It's a bummer. :(
Hey there, we have no plans of removing our current offerings from Aescripts. In the event that we do change the distribution exclusively to our platform (not likely), we will ALWAYS support our existing customers through updates and ticket help. Our users helped us get to where we are today and there is no chance that we would forget about them. Lot's of new tools coming to our platform that will consistently increase the value users get. I totally respect the worries and I hope that we can change your mind in the future

do you have a review of kease? aejuice also has some interesting basic presets of easing, and a copy and paste option, love your channel man, greetings from latin-american, paraguay...
Curves looks really useful, your demo sold me on it and I would have purchased it but the subscription pricing is ridiculous. 13 - 15 USD per month for it, Datamosh 2 (a pretty niche plugin) and a couple of other janky looking effects is terrible. Oh and they also force you to register an account to be able to check out their plans.
Thanks for listing the price. If a site has to hide their price behind a paywall, they know it's overpriced. I was also interested in curves but needing a subscription blows.
@@aaront8609 Everyone's trying to get on the Subscription model bandwagon. I think only specific products naturally sound like it's somewhat reasonable to pay that, but some don't. If value was the main issue here, though, then I'd have to pay a subscription fee to "True Comp Duplicator" since I use it 99.99% of the times im in AE. If everyone switched to subscription model- just imagine the monthly cost of just keeping an AE machine running. Goddamn...

It's really nice to see a response from you guys on this, I believe though the problem is twofold and lead to the same point. 1, as kind of mentioned, there's the value of the subscription, as well as the opaqueness of it, seeing as we need to sign up to see plans. 2, subscription models, although they might earn in the long run, it won't keep any favor or good will. This isn't a diss in any way, I love the promises Curve has, however, even Mr Horse is adopting subscriptions now, and it was my previous go-to resource kit, it's now uninstalled from my pc due to that. I may have spent hundreds of dollars on plugins that help my workflow (Motion, Overlord, Anubis, Relativity, Skew, and some more), and I'm not exaggerating when I say Curves looks like a goldmine of a plugin, and I personally would love to pay even triple digits for a license to use it. Now that Curves has a spotlight, there will be developers that might make their own equivalent and have it listed as a $40 plugin, when that time comes, the value for a subscription has to show for customers to sign up. Upkeep of a CC subscription is already taxing for lots of users and the only subscriptions they would accept is cloud storage for project deliveries, not graphing tools they otherwise can bypass with other one-time payment plugins and the graph tool. All this is just my personal take, don't take it too heavy, I just needed to get this out in a manner that I felt was articulate enough. Wish you all the best of days and best of luck. -H
I hear you, but many people pay for a Red Giant subscription just for their plugins, or Greyscalegorilla+ for their plugins, assets and educational material. I'm not saying I like it, but people are paying for it so I don't see it going away. I think the real question is whether or not the value you're getting for the subscription is worth it. Red Giant makes some tools that people cannot live without, or that do things that make their lives easy enough to justify the cost. As a C4D artist, the amount of tools and assets you have access to with a GSG+ subscription make the cost a no brainier, in my opinion. The real question you have to answer is whether or not a Plugin Play subscription is going to be valuable enough to you as a motion designer to make that subscription cost worth it.
when I think in subscription I think in Netflix. once you start with one you'll end up paying for 20 different subscriptions because everyone has something you like

On my way to buy Curves and then see the subscription pricing. There is no way I will spend $156 a year for one plugin, even if my work is paying for it. The price will of course increase for every year, so you will pay almost $470-500 for one plugin in 3 years. That's crazy!
That subscription price point for PlugInPlay seems really high. Bundling doesn't allow for a la carte purchasing. It's not a gret strategy and is the number one reason I'm staying way fromit. Flow does this job for me.

have you ever tried to „abuse“ the FLOW EXPRESSION function in an ease() expression? 😉 try it out and look at the applied expression of flow and then you will know what it is good for and how much power lies in it!
Hey Jake, awesome video! Quick question for you. Is it possible to tweak the position property handles in the value graph without having to split them into x and y dimensions? I've been looking into it and seems like After Effects doesn't support this feature out of the box. If anyone knows of a plugin that can help achieve this, I'd greatly appreciate the insight. DuIK might been at far right of your graph. It comes with far more usefull expression you didn't mentionned, with also bounces, turning wheels depending on the movment, controllers, camera in 2D space (parallaxe)… Still complicated and expert level when you jump in, but even more features and greater UI since DuIK 3 Angela, for free (donationware) 🙏
You're right, I probably should've given it more credit. I think I was trying to keep it relative to the easing features it offers, which isn't really fair since I didn't do that with Curves. Duik Angela is unbelievably valuable for being donationware.
