I guess there are only some possibilities for Trump to prevent jail for him. His options for avoiding prison are very limited: 1: He is re-elected (rather unlikely); 2: He flees to a country that has no extradition agreement with the USA; this are only some 3: (cynical) he suffocates on his lies, will not happen 4: He dies a natural death (at 78, quite possible) or he evades the possibility of locking him up himself. (he is certainly too cowardly for that).

Agreed. 2020 was just the pregame show. We are yet to see how Trump and the Republicans try to steal the 2024 election, but Trump has given us hints. It looks like they will run a play to not certify the election on whatever grounds they can manufacture and throw the election back to the states to decide. In that case, as in 2020, Trump will win because more states, but less of the population, is Republican controlled.

I respect Allan Lichtman, but he’s one of the people who seemed adamant that Biden should drop out, so I’m not going to take his word as gospel. I’m almost CERTAIN Biden would have lost if he had stayed, regardless of what his keys said. Don’t get complacent, folks-regardless of the polls, vote Harris/Walz 2024.

It's more reliable than depending on the polls. It's possible that maybe Biden could've won, but with closer margins than Harris. There's uncertainty trying to predict the future, we don't even know if Trump will put his whole foot in his mouth in October and say something that discourages even his core supporters to decide not to vote. But it's not much use anymore trying to predict what might've happened if Biden stayed in because we have no idea what would've happened differently after that. I will say though that since even a lot of Democrats were saying openly that he was unfit for office, that could've caused him to lose the election if he stayed in. I will take his opinion over the polls though, those are always all over the place and the margins of error make them pretty meaningless unless 1 party is so far ahead that the margin doesn't matter.
