Thanks for watching folks! I honestly don't know what we'd do without scripts...well, spend a great deal more time doing similar things and getting frustrated no doubt!
I have been making soft for about 3 years, but I thought it might be a good idea to take a refresher course by watcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials video.
Hi and thanks a lot for this video, very usefull. I just tried to instal and use "random swatches" but doesn't work at all. Do you know any reasons about this ? How to get any scripts on the Internet ? Thanks again and take care ! Looks like "Random Swatches file is under javascript when i download through your link below in coment, but others not...
Hey Sylvain, thanks for watching and glad you liked the video. Have you seen my video on how to install scripts, this might help, it covers the place where you should add them on Windows/Mac. 😎ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3zNWqKLhpo8.html
Thank you@@shaped-by-design for your answer ! I think i did well if i follow your nice tutorial. But i can't use this script precisely on my Illustrator "Random Swatches". For example, I created Circle with this Scripts "Circle Fill", then I want to fill different circles by different color with "Random Swatches, result : Circles get empty, no outlines, not fill at all. But... I can do this when I make "Circle Fil and choose colors at this moment, but if i want to change colors i doesn't work with "Random Swatches". I read yesterday on a blog that is possible because "Random Swatches" found on the Internet needs to be save under JSX and not JS... But I don't how to do that... Thanks for any of your help mate !
The only other thing I can think of is, (a) you have your objects selected, then left-click on the swatches (in the swatches panel) that you wish to use, SHIFT and left click to select multiple, then go to File> Scripts> Random Swatch Fill.
Hello! Great video! Regarding the 'Text Block' script, it's interesting that it converts the text to outlines. Is there a feature for it that keeps the text editable? Thank you for great content!
Not that i'm aware of, but the new version of Illustrator include a feature that turns outlined text back into editable text (providing it can find a font match). In Illustrator 2024, go to Type> Retype (beta), press Enter to start the process, when the Retype Panel displays a list of possible font matches, left-click on the best/exact font fro the list, then click on Apply. It then creates a text frame matching the characters.
Thanks for commenting Nabil. All of the scripts in the video (and a few more besides) are all included in the video description via two links. The reason for separate links is that Ai Merge was created by a different author to the other scripts. So you will find everything except Ai Merge in the first link. I hope that helps clarify. 😀
@@shaped-by-design RandomSwatchesFill was not int the mentioned links , that's why i asked , but I found it already elsewhere😁 , so once again thank you for awesome video and bringing these helpful scripts to my attention.
Thanks for letting me know, our new website went live this week and it its likely that this is a server issue. I'll take a look at this and let you know when a new link is working. Thanks for watching!
