Great video, thanks for posting. I was sitting somewhere up there in the grand stand. Got to love Top Fuel. The only sport where someone can say "only 225 miles per hour"

🤣🤣 I think the first time trackside with Top Fuel it got me good, I'm lucky enough to be trackside with them fairly often so I'm getting used to it these days!

I’ve been going to the Pod regularly since 1977. It’s sad to say, but TF in this country over the past few years has become an anti climax for spectators. Not to mention crew chiefs. As shown in this clip. (I’ve watched many many TF races) Maybe they have become a victim of their own success? To much power? For this track? You very rarely see a full side by side WOT pass now days. In fact over the last few years you could probably count such a race on both hands. Why isn’t this a problem in the States or other countries? 🤷‍♂️

I agree it’s a shame, I think parts/costs are also a major issue so they are probably run on parts a bit past their best which hurts performance and reliability. We can never compare to the States as NHRA is a different league in every class and always will be

@@mk1kierantyre shake it a real problem. You just know it’s going to happen with a TF car at the Pod. Pro Mod is the biggest, best class with the closest races. Comp Eliminator is exciting, obviously 😁

Pro Mod & Comp will always be my favourite two classes, I’m a Doorslammer fan all day every day 😅 Top Methanol is a great class though albeit a bit thin on the ground these days but it seems to be having a bit of a resurgence!

@@mk1kieran Keith told us that the supply chain of new parts is horrible after Covid and it should improve next year. Hopefully this will restore the TF class for the future!

I agree even though I only started going in 1997. I swear that through the late 90s and first half of the 2000s, there were at least a dozen TF and about 8 TF funny cars. Today there's not even half of each and most runs, they either break down or shut off early due to tyre shake. Disappointing, especially when you've brought newcomers with you. I also miss watching the cars from behind in the "barn", especially the jet cars. It was great to go home stinking of jet fuel, burnt rubber and completely covered in tyre marbles!

Thank you, some runs I could hardly see from all the nitro 😂 There was a bad one in funny car where I couldn’t see at all so what I actually captured was amusing
