I have to say it, brutal as it sounds, but if I were a musician starting out today (or just even kind of young), I would focus on the keyboard alone and get good on it. It's such a flexible instrument (like the keyboard I'm typing on now). You can play a guitar (or a sax or an oboe or any instrument) _with a keyboard_. The VST's have gotten so good. I haven't seen it yet, but it's easy to imagine 5 musicians on stage, each with their own keyboard. One is playing drums, one bass, one guitar, one trumpet, etc.
Man I can't tell you how many years I spent trying to find a good guitar VST early on. Nexus was the first VST to give me some good ones that ended up being my go to in the early 2010's. It's definitely one of the most difficult mainstream instruments to replicate in VST form but you featured some dope ones in this video!
THIS GUY PULLED OUT BANGERS LIKE IT WAS NOTHING!! HE EVEN DID COUNTRY & JOHN MAYER?!?!?! Come on bro thats not right homie... forget 20k lets get him to 100k ASAP!!!
Mate I'm a guitarist and I respect your skills on the keys....pickup a cheap guitar and start learning....you already have the musical skill...you just have to get down the mechanics of playing....I always tell my students ...if you can get over the initial uncomfortable feeling of stretching your fingers and digging into thin wire....after 3 months you would have built up the right strength to make it feel just as comfortable as any instrument
I couldn't stop myself subscribing. I gave up music production along time ago, but now after hearing the level of skill and these plugins, you have inspired me too go back to music production. Great videos bro.
I'm not sure about the free versions, but with Ample Guitars you can extend the range in the GUI by detuning the lowest tunning peg. Also, the pitch bend range is factory set for manual vibrato and needs to be adjusted under settings for traditional use. These are legitimately among the top most realistic solo guitars on the market. They have a manual strong strum mode too. Nice list!
@@Daring2Win what do you mean by widen pitch I just got it I wanna know like how to increase the range to play every note from high to low on piano roll and so could you explain what u mean by that?
@@tamezzodiac2862 hi, first of all, I'm sorry; I said "pitch bend" but I meant the modulation wheel. I don't believe you can play the entire range of a piano, but you can achieve drop 'D' tuning and also play a bit above the natural range of a guitar by simply clicking the low 'E' tuning peg and dragging it to the left. This procedure will extend the guitars range by two notes. I believe the range can be extended upward by dragging the high 'E' to the right, but I can't remember at the moment and unfortunately I'm not near my PC now. One thing to remember about Ample Guitars is that they use the physics of an actual guitar and you will have to physically select piano mode to play their instruments like a piano. Spend some time with them, there is a bit of a learning curve if you don't play guitar, but you will get the hang of it in no time; it can also teach you guitar, which is a perk no I e mentions. I suggest buying a cheap guitar for reference in the future and learn BASICS. if you have any other questions please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them, but the best resource for Ample Guitars is by far the HiFiMIDI RU-vid channel. Ruben is actually who introduced me to Ample Sounds and started my obsession with virtual guitars. Now I have all of AS guitars and basses+++.
I have that same that same "Picked Acoustic" plugin, and I love it, can't say enough about it. I find I have to do some tweaking to get the sound I want, but I've learned to save off my fav' sounds as personal templates once I get it right.
I listened to the duration of 10:45 many times, because I really like that tone, keep up the enthusiasm of my brother, and my greetings are from INDONESIA
Thanks, dude! I’ve been research guitar instruments. I played guitar all my life, until a neurological syndrome affected my hands and now it’s almost impossible to play guitar - but I’m also a keyboard player and I’m doing ok with my midi controller. I recently finished a song using all guitar samples and loops AND I have Komplete 13. I have Ample and it’s good, also AAS Strummer, and a few other free VSTs, but they all have limitation. Haven’t looked at Nexus or Omniphere but most synths don’t have the articulations for mute, hammer on, picked, etc. So…
yo I respect you for appreciating music I thought you were just a regular trap/hip hop producer but you when appreciated country (I'm not a country guy ), played Bieber stuff AND mention John Mayer I took all that back, I respect and I subbed btw
Nice guitar vst Compilation, especially with your renditions. I share the passion for guitar strumming. Creating an authentic guitar vst with the feel is not the easiest job.
WOOOO you took off so cool Cedric... channel bloomin ...the real thing... very much deserved... your vids are awesome... great knowledge presented in a most stylish way... music flows in you ✌🌹
i had to make a guitar sample pack for a friend who is working on his album. i play the real guitar but it was so hard to actually come up with something. this video gonna change out lives for good.
I'm with you bro, I want to learn to play guitar myself, still these vst's will at least give us the sound and feel of coming close to playing when producing!
Yay! You let us hear the audio from your DAW! Thank you! You're gonna have 100k subscribers very soon! I know it! :) Thanks for these reviews! And yes, I agree, the mod wheel hardly ever sounds good with guitar VST's! I'm only a couple minutes into this video - so hopefully one of these has a killer mod wheel feature!
Bro, your keys game is on another level 🔥🔥🔥 My favourite is definitely the Jazz Guitar...thank you for showing this. When I produce Afrobeat, I always look for that kinda sound 🙏🏿
You always got the best reviews fam. You dont get enough props homie. Salute. Keep doin what you're doin and God will definitely give you true blessings. When i blow up lets collab man. You are deserving of superstardom bro. Keep goin
I agree, Native Instrument's Session Guitarists Picked Acoustic and Strummed Acoustic (Strummed Acoustic which is strumming only, no freestyle Acoustic playing like their Picked Acoustic) I'm only speaking as an amateur musician, but as a PROFESSIONAL consumer of music, it just sounds right and clean and such authentic detail. The interface might be a little confusing and you might m=not get the setup out of the box, I'd recommend just taking that first day to see how it works, then start making . music. The reality is however, every setting did not sound good to me out of the box. I had to learn that the velocity settings of my MIDI data affects sound (some things sound much better with low velocity of 5 to 30), and a lot of other little nuances, but I have a template library now of all the Acoustic sounds I need. Thumbs up, WAY UP for Native Instruments Picked Acoustic!!!! Nice Studio.......
Playing the guitar and drums are feelings that can’t be replicated from anything else. If you love guitar that much you should seriously spend and hour to 2 hours a day learning. Don’t over think it man. Just go for it and don’t ever stop. You can only go up bro.
Most of the time it's just not practical to do so. Even on top of the learning, you need a decent instrument, preamp/amp, mics, room, etc. It takes several months to be able to really play the instrument at a very basic level, and possibly years to be somewhat competent. If I learned every instrument I have a VST for, there simply wouldn't be enough time in the day if I had zero sleep for years. That said, I do agree with your statement. It's extremely difficult if not impossible to replicate it. In that case, it really comes down to close enough is good enough.
I play guitar, piano, drums though i don't mind having semi-decent plugins to get ideas down quickly and hear what it could sound like before getting the instruments out for recording.
Probably but for example, I'm a bassist in the free time, Im an engineer and work a lot so I bought a guitar but the time to use it is cero. So I keep practicing bass and left the guitar in vst. Also only need it in couple of songs.
You should also do one for the 2020 best flutes, choirs and strings (violins and strings in general) plugins (seperate videos) unless you done some already?
@-SweetScaleTV- Hey bro I’m so happy for all your growth ! Quick question , are those Omnisphere guitars you showed already in Omni or do you have to buy a expansion pack ? Thanks for all you do and you truly uplift my spirit seeing you cook, you can tell you truly have a passion and love for Music in itself 🙏🏼
Thanks a lot for this video Bro! your videos are always great to watch! I was wondering can you make a video about your live set up to share how you make music in live with beats, keyboards maybe loopers etc! it will be awesome! Thanks in advance Bro! Peace!
Good video. I have a few of these VST especially all NI ones. I always seems to go back to Iyla Efimov guitars though. Well worth checking them out also.
This is not only one of the greatest videos about music production, but it’s also one of the greatest videos on the internet period. You give off such a humble kind and god driven vibe and you’re ridiculously talented. You even showed us the presets for some hit songs. Amazing
Somehow came across this Maestro. Wow. To see him make these VSTs come alive! Especially that Pick Nylon. Amazing sounds. Thank you for your videos. Really helps in making a decision on what I'd like to acquire next to add to my VST toolbox.
You make great videos, keep at it. Do you have a video explaining more about your back story, how you got into music etc - You have clearly been doing it for a while.
Hi! I really enjoyed this informative video, I am looking for something to help since I also *can’t* play guitar (very well, just yet) - I’m keen to try some of those options you listed, I just wondered if you use a sustain pedal the same way you do with a traditional keyboard to put sustain on the notes when playing midi? Probably a dumb question, I’m just trying to find out everything about how this could work. I can’t make my sustain pedal work with my midi keys so I’m probably all up the pole with my technology (I know nothing 😫) Have subscribed and can’t wait to check out more of your vids, very helpful- thank you!
This video was great! I already have all the ones from Native Instruments. They seem complicated and have crashed on me several times and sometimes it does it's own thing and change playing styles like a ghost in the machine. Now I'm searching for something else. And since you are always looking for a new vst guitar, I would love to see you try out Antonov Samples' ST & LP vst guitars and tell us your thoughts. Some of the RU-vid videos of theirs is not the greatest in explaining until you go to their website. After listening to the songs on their website, they all sound really good and authentic. I'm torn between the two but may just go with the ST.
There are the one's you covered, and other apparently very good or decent guitar plugins out there, and many of these appear to have some flaw and some exceptional qualities as well, so that's why we need more videos.. Amplesound improved the mod wheel thing in 3.5. Check it out. (I have the Native Instrument Guitars (Komplete Ultimate Collectors 13) and far prefer Amplesound for overall quality and variety. That said I enjoy your videos, keep up the good work.
Whoah - Cedric Thanks! that was really helpful - I'm in the process of looking for an electric/acoustic guitar VST. it's so hard to get one that sounds "real" not obviously an imitation. I dabbled with learning the acoustic/classical guitar many moons ago but I'm no guitarist :) . Some of the prices are a little too high for me at present but the information in the vid was really helpful. Thanks - subbed and I'll be back.
