Jennifer Connelly shares behind-the-scenes on making Top Gun 2 with Tom Cruise and reveals how the action start helped her overcome her fear of flying.
Yes. Watching the film "Top Gun: Maverick" in a group of people this Memorial Day weekend... in those scenes between Jennifer Connelly and Tom Cruise, reminds me of the character she portrays with Russell "Gladiator" Crowe in the Ron Howard film "A Beautiful Mind"... based upon a true story about the brilliant mathematician John Nash. Really great.
@@Gweidemann Thanks for the review. I'm a pilot, and joined the Navy Reserves hoping to fly fighters. I was offered the backseat. I have to watch "A Beautiful Mind" again. Now that I have taken calc 1-3, I may follow some of the math. "Hidden Figures" is a great math and space race movie! Definitely makes my top 10!
The producer's picked the best actress in Jennifer Connelly to play Penny B. Her performance was outstanding. Maverick went ballistic with her the first time w/ Penny but fell in love with her the second time around in a slower aircraft. That say's something, right? This movie was beautifully put together. The transitions from the 1st movie to the 2nd was just incredible. I can't wait for Top Gun 3...🤓🥃😂👍
Jennifer has been casted perfectly for Top Gun 2. Just perfect yet unconventional. Hope she enters a brand new chapter of her movie career with this huge success. She makes my heart ache. 😊♥️
This movie was 1st rate in every sense. I was really impressed by the maturity of the relationship between "Maverick" and Penny in the movie...which was such a difference between the brashness of the love interest in the first Top Gun. She was great in the movie and the character was really done well. Somehow they gave the genuine impression of a lifelong relationship between two people who'd known and loved each other for a lifetime but couldn't really ever "work it out" so they could actually be together. There's a scene well into the movie where Maverick shows up at a bar, dressed up in his whites, finds her and they have a "moment" when he leans in and whispers something in her ear... You want to hope it's "will you marry me"... We never find out what it is that's said but there's no "let's get married" moment and they ride off into the sunset as the "happy couple" finally. And as much as I would have like to see it be "let's get married", the movie doesn't really go there... It focuses on recognizing the "moments" in life that are special and precious when they happen and taking the time to soak them in instead of just rolling on through them and never looking back...appreciating those moments for what they are and not taking them for granted.
*There's a scene well into the movie where Maverick shows up at a bar, dressed up in his whites, finds her and they have a "moment" when he leans in and whispers something in her ear...* I"m pretty sure he was telling her that he was leaving on the mission.
I just saw Top Gun 2 and it's fantastic. Im always a fan of Jennifer Connelly. I saw her first in Labyrinth decades ago. The flashbacks reminded me of my Top Gun posters on my wall as a young teenager lol 😂. And I didn't realize that Meg Ryan was in Top Gun 1 as the wife of Goose, and mother of Rooster haha 😄.
Jennifer Connelly is prolly one of my longest actress crushes of all time. I saw her in Rocketeer first at the screening in Disney studios CA. Mom saw the way I looked at her dolled up in the South Seas Club. After we went to blockbuster and rented labyrinth and from then on I was hooked.
I certainly admire her I have watched her career and I think she's just absolutely a wonderful amazing and simply put an intelligent kind, talent woman

I know this isnt an easter egg but in my mind i created an easter egg. One of the bar scenes they're playing "lets dance" by David Bowie, and I'm just picturing Labyrinth because of her connection to bowie. 🤣

Star Wars took the script from an old movie in the 50's about a WW2 bombing run, which took the story from a book about a real life mission. Not everything from Star Wars was original.
I haven't seen the whole movie but based on the snippets and the plot, it seems she didn't have much scenes with the others. It could also be how the prod team promotes the movie.
Too similar to the first..same scenes, same music...same dog fights in air..the only difference is Tom Cruise is 30 years older! And his girlfriend who was 30 years older was replaced with one who was a little younger but like Cruise looked good for 50. Sometimes a movie that is great when first made CA be entertaining the second time around but I didn't feel the magic like the first Top Gun! That's why I'm glad Patrick Swayze didn't make a second Dirty Dancing because the first one was great and how can you repeat that. Some movies are great because it's authentic, it's perfect for that time! A remake sometimes just isn't magical anymore. You know like Jaws then Jaws 2 Jaws 3, you get my drift!!!
