What do think about service Myway cf that give a Static Public IP and Domain name for any device in any network? More than Dynamic DNS. UDP also working.
It's always a pleasure to hear OTW's opinion of the industry along with yours, David. A little over a year ago I was lucky to be able to turn on a computer. Now I can say I understand more than the average user. There is still a long long way to go for me to get where I want to be! Please keep producing amazing information and references!! It's always a pleasure to hear you two speak
Just bought Linux Basics for Hackers and also Network Basics for Hackers. Linux basics came in today. The other will get here tomorrow. Im studying to become a Network Enginner and Administrator but I cant help but be interested in hacking as well! cant wait to start reading!
I believe it was OTW that recommended the Nicole Perlroth book, "This is How They Tell Me the World Ends" which I've finished and I must say it was a true eye-opener, for sure! So many links in there to PDF reports, YT videos and what have you, wish I could get hold of the PDF version to copy and paste those links! Thanks to David and OTW for this awesome insight and keep up the good work ;-)
The book that has special place in my heart will always be "Hacking: The Art of Exploitation" by Jon Erickson. I am excited to see if featured here. I would definitely recommend it, even if some content is superseded. A plus also is that you get to practice C, great to know for all things hacking
here's a tip to anyone who wants to learn cybersecurity: 1)the book recommandations wont work. 2) u need to apply for a course in cybersecurity in a reputed college or online course. yours truly by some random person who wasted 2 years by watching utube videos in a hope to get any free learning:)
I'd like to know how OTW began his journey into what he does 'today'? Would he recommend that path to others or would he give a different way of going about it either fully or at certain 'crossroads'?
I'd suggest the book " @ Large: The Strange Case of the World's Biggest Internet Invasion '. Not a how-to, but a very interesting case that changed the face of modern cyber-security
It would be nice if you could give us an video about how to find vul in smartphone os's such as Android, Ios and windows and book recommendations for that.
Well, and again, thank you so much for your content here, for your massive working into showing us information on a top level - and it is fun to look your channels, too
Always more new ideas about books to read, David, you are really gonna make my brain overheat and blow, thank you for your always good quality content.
Hello sir, for safety I used Vit Locker password on my pen drive. Now I have forgotten the password of vit locker and also lost recovery key of it. Now is there have any other way to find the password of my pen drive? 🙏
OTW, I have your Linux Basic for hackers and I just pre order the Network Basic for Hackers. It's time to Stop Mr. P Now! And Mr. Bombal thank you, this was an awesome video.
Always cool to have the master OTW in your videos Mr. David, also thank you so much for your recommendations, I thing there are really usefull, I will start with one or two. thank you very much !
Thanks for doing this I’ve been wanting to learn more about ethical hacking I want to protect people from scammers People still fall for social engineering tactics specially old people that have worked hard for many years to have what they have now in days a at their age and I find this inspirational the future is here and we have time to make it safe for the planet 🌎

Any advice u give me that i will remember it alwyas .
Hello David great video as always! I have a question regarding breaking into cybersecurity. Are the books listed in the description of the video in a "good" order to read them? Thank you in advance.
Yes. This may be a good one to start with: The Pentester Blueprint by Phillip L. Wylie and Kim Crawley: amzn.to/3WIoGP4 or start with Linux for hackers as OTW recommends.
Think they are especially good for beginners. Gray Hat Hacking is like a guide to become a hardcore hacker and it will refer to other books which you should read. Great reference guide in my opinion. Lot of the books has been showcased on the channel already, like Black Hat Python, and you basically need a bit of Python and and the willingness to learn.
Hi David, Could you recommend some good books about online anonymity. Being an ex-Muslim and an activist, need to know more about security measure, while using Twitter and other social media platforms. Please do suggest some good books, lectures or courses. Regards.
the art of social engineering is definitely important. the art of hacking the art of exploitation I disagree I thought it was badly written. and one of the best hacking books I have ever read is hacking the hacker. I've read a ton you did not mention that is good too and still reading a few you mentioned.
Hello David ! Thank you very much for your videos and hardwork - it is wonderfull! I would like download some of your lessons from RU-vid by some programm - like "wget" but for RU-vid - can you advice any ?
Has anyone heard anything about the new revision of "Linux Basics for hackers"? I was considering buying the book but now I feel like I should wait until the new edition is out.
what about metasploit the penetration testing guide, Rust programming, tor and the dark art, android security in depth guide , advanced web application and exploitation
A good idea for a Podcast would be evaluating Pro-Level Hacking Gear, i.e.. Cobalt Strikes, Core Impact, etc. Tools like Veil, Empire, and others don't work in today's environment.
HI David,Please as a desperate newbie how do I keep my laptop safe from(1)webinfection(2)what software can I put onto my laptop to track it after it is stolen.FromRalph
"Hands on Hacking" by Jennifer Arcuri. Isn't that the very same woman who had dodgy dealings with Boris Johnson? Guess it adds a whole new meaning to "hands on".
In Brazil hackers receive a lot of money because you don’t have laws against cyber crimes there since you don’t steal any money, so, you can hack someone account and it’s fine, I’ve been victim of this kind of crime, and it’s legal
Hello David & OTW. Without spending a fortune .... how can I test/crack relatively secure wifi passwords (ie not those found in rockyou) , so that I can understand how vulnerable they are to others breaking them ?
Most of the books recommended on this video are basic to mid level books. Can you make a episode about advanced level hacking books/courses or platforms? It will help us a lot.. BTW it was a excellent episode. I think this video is enough to make dictions about buying hacking books for beginners. Thanks man, thanks a lot....👌
I would love to see a part 2 video with all of the comment suggestions. Y’all should have included Open Source Intelligence Techniques (9th edition) by Michael Bazzell. I’m only 3 chapters in and it’s phenomenal. OSINT is a good sub-genre of hacking.
Creepy… I was just searching books of such topics this week. You cyber security professionals always make a new video with the answers to my immediate curiosity within 24 hours. Every. Single. Time. For months now lol. 🎉no complaints here Shoutout to your video editor. The cuts are excellent and I’ve never been mindfully aware because of the seemless professionalism in your content, but thought I’d mention it, as it’s appreciated and can recognize the amount of work that goes into it. ✌️
@@real_rivolta Not for a longgg while. I know better 😝😎not outside of a VM, during testing, anyways. If Google knew me at all they would know I am never looking for cookie recipes when I search cookie questions 🤣🤣🤣
Huge fan of the "Hack like a..." series. It's not in depth of how to do each section that's covered, but it's great to get the mind thinking about ways things are done.
But all books are very costly and the books which are old only those are available in pdf version... (Only a few books) How can I read ?? It may be possible that in us these books are available at low cost or affordable cost but in india foreign authors books price is very high.... Like 3000rs and above ..... How can anyone afford??? Please give a solution and ask author to publish Indian edition if possible.... It's a humble request....🙏
I like Ethical Hacking. Recent (2021) and goes beyond just beginner level stuff. Covers some things I haven't seen covered in other books (and I have a ton of 'em). No Starch Press...of course! Edit: author is Daniel G. Graham.
As a total know-nothing beginner as of September I've read Pentesting Blueprint. Today is my last chapter of Linux Basics for Hackers and I'm hoping to dive into Black Hat Python and then maybe I can say I know a little something to start something.
The three years I invested in the university are all useless, am finding your channel a great resource and am starting afresh. Thanks this is great work 🙏
Great video as usual guys. As for recommendations how about some content on the defense side of the game. Such as hyperjacking prevention, detection and reclamation. Or kernel hardening and firewall best practices. Threat detection and system scanning for compromise I'm sure would keep folks glued to the screen.
If OTW says it's good, go for it! His book "Linux Basics for Hackers" is so simple and easy to understand that I would have all people that publish books go thru him for review first!
