The Cabinet approved the 5 languages to give status as Classical Language on 3 October 2024, 5 languages are Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese and Bengali. With the addition of five new languages, the total number of classical languages in Schedule 8 of the Constitution has increased to 11, the rest of languages in schedule 8 are Tamil (2004), Sanskrit (2005), Kanada (2008), Telugu (2008), Malayalam (2013), Odia (2014). Basis of Classification of classical language : The Ministry of Culture issued few guidelines to announce Classical to any language in February 2014, according to this guidelines : At first, ancient texts of the language have to be dated from 1500 to 2000 years. Then, ancient literature of the language has to be a valuable heritage for generations of people. After that, this language wants to be special in his own literary tradition.
The 8th edition of joint military exercise KAZIND-2024 has been commenced at Surya Foreign Training Node, Auli, Uttrakhand from 30 September to 13 October 2024. Joint Exercise KAZIND-2024 has been held annually since 2016. Last edition of the Joint Exercise was held at Otar, Kazakhstan from 30th October to 11th November 2023.

In October 2024, Mithun Chakravarti will be awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony, wii be the 54th recipient, before this Waheeda Rahman was been the 53th recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2023.
