Our family trip to Los Cabos, Mexico this winter was luxurious, safe and relaxing, despite the pandemic. The Viceroy Los Cabos ensured that we were well taken care of, operating all their dining outside, well trained staff in masks and shields and so much privacy and separation at the pools and beach, we almost felt as we if we had the resort to ourselves. Also, this is the type of hotel I'd want to stay at without kids, and the fact that it happened to be very kid friendly, but in a subtle, understated way, was certainly a bonus!
We were worried about the 2 hour flight from LAX, but we shouldn’t have been. We departed on a nearly empty plane in late December, arrived in the small yet modern airport, rented a car and drove only 15 minutes to our hotel.
Once there, we were treated like royalty. All the staff has genuine sincerity in wanting us to enjoy and they went the extra mile in making our 2.5 year old girl have the best time. They were quick to make special food her, leave her surprises and the concierge even set up a theatre experience just for her.
The highlights of the stay include:
- Our Ocean View Junior Suite, complete with colorful lighting, spa bathroom, kitchen area & giant soaking tub on our balcony
- All the dining: from breakfast at Casero to dinners at Nido or Cielomar, the dining here is standout--some of the best food we've ever had on vacation
- Beach & Pools: So many pool options and breathtaking private beach area with beach infinity pool that was stunning
- Art Studio: lovely, airy studio that offered art classes taught by rotating local artists
- Live music on the rooftop at Cielomar
- Generation V Kids Club: Aurora loved the toys, crafts and play areas in this big space
-Festive atmosphere--we were there just before Christmas and it was decorated in a stylish, local yet festive way!
- Super convenient access to San Jose del Cabo and nearby restaurants and shops
We didn't want to leave and my daughter frequently tells me "I miss Mexico." If you are looking for a luxurious and SAFE experience, this is where to go!
