That really depends on where are you going with it. I've started with MATLAB and switched to python without a software background. I haven't faced any issues and I am a complete self-taught developer

I’m not sure if it is applicable for all or not, but if you are planning to be a good programmer, (my suggestion is) you have to do 1. C 2. CPP / JAVA (this is required for oops concept) Then only go for any programming language.
Well I would like to share an accrurate list and it will solve the mistakes beginners make:- If you will be learning any language please learn c and c++ first. You should know some language which are more connected to os and hardware. This will also clear almost all the concepts and companies usually ask you to code in either cpp or python I will absolutely recommend learning python after cpp. It's a must After doing the thing above, If you are learning web development you can do vanilla website creation and javascript For game development( I am following this field):- You must have already learned c++ so you can use game engine like unreal engine or use other graphic library like SDL2 or OpenGL or if you are learning unity go with c# after c++ I don't have any idea about sooo I will say go with latest programming language like JS or Kotlin/Swift or you can do good old Java.

Python sahi recommendation hai, focus DSA aur project building pe hona chahiye, dono hi cheez python mein streamlined hai. Ek baar aadmi ko transferable skills aa jaati hai toh woh kuch bhi seekhe, pointer se leke templates, jo uski marzi ho. But yeh faaltu ke natak ki “java aur c++ fast hai, woh kar bro’ in sab se bachna chahiye. C++ aur Java unke explicit type casting aur pointer gymnastics aur legacy code build ki wajah se kuch bahut permanece oriented application mein use bote hai. Agar aap ek capable developer ho toh python mein bhi existing libraries use Karke native c/cpp code ko integrate kar sakte ho. At the end of the day, it is about the usefulness of of the program that you’ve build, not tech stack that you have used.
