Another highly entertaining and informative classic, Charles. As a cheapskate hobbyist, I dabble in many genres of shooting. When I do still life or macro, I use speed lights, both typical size and a pair of lens mounted small speedlights. My cheap lighting method is to bounce light off of white poster board for diffused light or more direct if shadows are my thing at the time. Then there is longer exposures and a handheld flashlight for light painting - looks really cool when the camera is below a mushroom and the interior glows. Looks like Bambi is busy studying for finals. Cheers.
Thanks so much John! I might get a little more in depth with the speed light set up in another video, I love the mushroom glow thing 😁.Bambi is a great student, very dedicated 🤣
I love Neewer products from their ND Filters, to their Speedlights, to their LED Panel lights, to their Reflector Panels! I have 2 Z2's a Trigger and panel lights I use for most my lighting needs. I also have a few Lume Cube squares I use.
I use GODOX V1 flashes with a white bounce reflector when I’m shooting on camera events. For portraits I use a 33” or 43” softbox with an umbrella as a fill light. Then GODOX V1 flashes on stands for hair lights. I have a 12x36 strip light for rear side lighting opposite the main key light. For groups I use a 31x47 softbox.
My favorite light is natural available light, next, continuous light at 5200 kelvin to enhance the natural light during overcast days, my least favorite are speedlights and strobes. That said, I'm more of a portraitist than a product photographer and I feel natural light is so much more flattering than artificial.
@@jackthair8311 Same Size as mine. You can't beat studio strobes and few light modifiers. You can do so much with them and get so many different looks. Continuous lights just aren't bright enough, sunlight is variable and unpredictable. There is a learning curve to using strobes but the results are worth it. You can get a 300Ws Godox strobe for just over $100USD, the cost of creating a small 2 or 3 light home studio is relatively low.
I use daylight because I dont get it how to use difuzors and other lights. It all looks huge and a bit confusing to me xD but i will try to learn more about light. I thinking about first getting a difusor and try to use it
